My replacement went just as shown! I had just bought doughnuts and turned my heater on as I left the parking lot. The fan didnt blow. I MIGHT have said to myself "is the fan busted?" or "is my heater screwed up" and maybe my phone heard me, because this video was in my Recommended videos when I got home. Creepy, but.... The fix you show worked out exactly as in the video and my heater is blasting now after a five minute fix. Great vid. Thanks!
Im dead.....💀☠🙊🙈😹😹😹😹a fonzie tap....THATS EXACTLY what ive been doing to mine and havent known how to explain what im doing to get it to run....lmfao how perfect. 😂😂😂
It took me several times to run the video and I think I got it right now. I am assuming the blower motor resister fits in ONE WAY only . Just don't want to blow up the system..hope u do MORE VIDEOS just more details that you may have had missed. Thanks alot ! Just how to remove the glove compartment was missing!
This part also worked on my 2014 prius if anyone has a 2014 it was a little different in the install but ju a t took a minute to figure out where a screw was that wasn't in this video, just needed a socket set and a Philips screwdriver though
Your 2005 looks like my 2015!! I change out my engine air filter and my CABIN air filter!!! What do you think still blows cold. Do I wait till it goes out???? Great job!!! Barb/Sacramento
what if its blowing intermittently - sometimes itscold other times not, i have a 2015 prius, ive been having to keep refilling my refrigerant and thats usually a short term fix, i feel like i have so many issues with my air conditioning its just one thing after another.
As far as I know my fan is blowing well but I hear this loud moaning sound behind the glove compartment. Some people have suggested is a baffle that opens and closes the vents. I can't quite find it. At first it seemed to do this only about once a week. Now it is more frequent. It also seems to happen when unusually hard braking. It goes away when I turn off the fan or drop it to the lowest setting . Then it works again. Its good to see how to take apart the unit. I imagine this could be a strong candidate. But I haven't found a video that mentions this symptom of mine associated with this regulator.
Can this issue with the resistor be intermittent? My car seems to blow air fine most of the time but sometimes it becomes super weak airflow and/or not blowing at all.
When I turn my AC on I can hear it making noise in the engine compartment, but I get nothing blowing out. Tried this fix, no luck. Maybe the blower fan?
What if mine isn’t blowing at all? Can I be a really or can it actually be the resistor if it isn’t blowing anything at all? I put on high in my 09’ prius and absolutely nothing happens..plz let me know doctor thanks!
Why the faawk is this part cost $150-170 when a new motor is only $40. I guess ill be out a working ac lol. Aint gonna waste that much and replace it and still have same problems smh. I was expecting it costing $20-30 to test it out.
I have a 1989 Lincoln Town Car. When I turn my A/C from cold to hot, the fan stays on but the air stops coming through the vents. Also, if I select floor, the fan shuts completely off. I have switched out the panel control switches, it did the same. Changed the resistor. Same problem. What do you think it may be? Thanks in advance sir..
On mine i just turned squirrel cage with finger & it started spinning. Does that mean motor could be going out?. I turned fan on & off & low to med & hi a couple times seems to work ok for now.
My blower is working but i have to tap it to go high. It's ice cold when blowing . Nit a bump it can stop tap it once goes med, tap 2nd little higher 3rd full blast but sounds sort of like the way rain hits your roof when stopped hard , lower, hard lower .
I purchased a resistor, and new motor but it still doesnt work. I had a really bad blown resistor smell prior to purchasing the new resistor and motor. Is there a fuse somewhere that could also be blown?
I have replaced the motor for the blower and the AC was working before off and on but it was blowing cold now it doesn't want to blow cold anymore I'm not sure if the compressor is coming on suddenly when it when I changed it the air quit blowing cold any suggestions

Thanks so much. I tried cleaning the connectors with electrical cleaner first. And it worked. Strong fan. And resistor still good.
what kind of cleaner did you use?
@@joshuatexasmaf sensor cleaner, did you try to clean it? Going to try it soon

Very good video. I saved a lot of money from watching this video! The local mechanic would've cost me an arm and leg! Plz make more videos!

Cleaned filter, removed and reinstalled plugs, and a Fonzie tap on the bottom of fan motor and it's working now. Thanks for the info.

Thank you so much. That sound of air blowing was music to my ears. I still have to take out the old one, I will do that later today.

That's what I'm having now, four years later. Thought it was the blower motor. Disconnected it and still whines during startup and when A/C is high.
What part numbers and how much does the new resistor cost?
New resistor cost about $192 for my Prius 🫠
Can this issue with the resistor be intermittent?

I'm having the exact same with my 2012 prius c
Having the same issue.
Me too on my 2004 prius.
Great video. Btw, that’s a great light and super easy on batteries
Nice! But WTF? Does the RESISTER fit in ONE WAY?! Or to match up the color wires the same?! Not mentioned! Other info fine!

You ARE the fucking man!!!!!! Thank you thank you thank you my AC blower just stopped working and I thought it was the motor
Thanx a lot ❤️, this was so useful
Mine just needed a push. The motor. I use HEPA filters I make myself. So may have interfered. Regardless ez fix thank you

very educative THank you
My 09 prius has cold air if you place your hand on the vent, but even on high it wont blow, also no defrost.

Would this explain when I turn my heat on it does not blow hard on high ? However, I does blow hard on HI when put on "lo cold".

Is this procedure the same for a 2010 prius?

Are there any other resisters compatible with the 2004-2009 models. Need to replace mine on a 2008
