The problem often coming from long time car park without turn off your car, or you driving very slow and stopped moving very often in a busy traffic. In very slow speed your car will use the hybrid battery till it becomes very low. So the voltage will be low sometimes and trigger the system to alert the warning.

Today I had the same problem with my Prius. Here has been low temperatures and battery was low. driving 30 minutes to charge battery, it didn’t help. After coming home I took the battery out to charge full. The warning signal was still on. I thought already to go Toyota service where starting price would be minimum 200 €. I decided to check UA-cam to give last try. Thank you very much for saving my day.
If you have over 200k miles you need a new hybrid battery is going to die soon the car will not stop completely the engine will still run but without the electric motor engine the warning light will never go away till you get a new Hybrid battery
Worked great in my 2009 Prius, 209.000 miles. The problem started after the car be sitting for 8 days while I was in a trip. I had this issue for 15 days in sequence going for work, sometimes doing what he is teaching in this video more than once per day. After those 15 days I decided to drive the car in a highway for 2 hours. Since it, no more troubles with the hybrid battery. Hope this info can be helpful for other people too.
Thank you for the early Christmas present. We ran out to buy some grocereies last evening after my wife had just returned from an arduous drive home earlier. One of many in this season. There, as we came out was the dreaded: " red triange of death," on the dash. The car started and let us drive home. Using these instructions and a drive to charge the battery, all is well. As someone below says" What a liversaver.
I don’t usually leave UA-cam comments, but just returned from a 6 week trip to a real head scratcher with my Prius and this completely solved it. Panic over. Thanks you!

Worked like a charm, bro. It also fixed my immobilizer problem. My immobilizer stopped working, and I couldn't lock or unlock the car. The key was sending the signal, but the car wasn't receiving it. This has sorted it out as well as getting rid of the red triangle 🔺️ ....thanks very much, brother.
For anyone wondering, on the bottom side of that white battery clip, there is something that you squeeze in to pull it out.

I'm selling my car and the lights were a plague, this fix erased some lights but also enabled me to erase the triangle of death with my diagnostic tool. I wasn't able to do that prior. Thank you Cambodian Man!!!!

I had similar problem with my Toyota Prius 2005 last night. It rains throughout the night and i drove my car to work at night. I followed the city centre to work, a place where alot of construction is going on.
Had to drive very slow for a long time. The light came up when I wanted to go home after work.

‘06 with 51k miles.. this car has been babied, light came on commuting maybe from sitting a few days? Anyways car turned on and off no issues. Not sure whats going on but this hack turned off the red triangle. Thank you!!

I did a scan and it gave all hybrid issues, I am going to try this before spending the money. The previous owner had the car sitting for a bit before i got it!

Sometimes mine would need resetting and then would be fine for a long while. However, if it’s a real problem that needs to be fixed it’ll come back on.

Ok so I’ve recently bought a new 12 volts battery. And I had the triangle light on I did what you’ve done . Yes it worked. But then a few minutes later it popped right back up. Reason? Why? 🤷🏻♂️

Mine did same thing left me stranded ended up being the drive motor inverter cooler water pump took me about 25 minutes to replace and bam fixed. I did buy the oem one on Amazon that cost about 130 cause the cheap ones had reviews that said only last few months mine going on a year no issues. Hope this helps

I just bought a 2005 Prius, and it has electrical issues. The previous owner installed a shut off switch to the small battery to do the same thing as you show on this video. I think it's supposed to clear out the problems and reset the computer.

Red triangle, VSC and engine check light are on because your car's HV battery is going down. And yes there is a problem with it, you can basically reset those lights, but you cant fix the issues with which your main battery is dealing.
That doesn't fix the problem I still comes back.

Man we all have to stop watching stuff like this, by resetting the car computer won’t fix the problem you’re making worse, I have a Prius and I did that more than once I mess up my entire electrical system. Don’t hate me I’m just being honest..

@@mallanh1 just go to a autozone and buy a scanner, whenever that triangle shows up, plug it and it will show the codes that needs to be fix. Hope you understand

Well I’m not sure what went wrong with my wife’s I do see corrosion on the 12 volt battery not much. But I have had a new hybrid battery replaced and the coolant converter for the hybrid motor. But today the red triangle came on and most and check engine light and the others. So I did what you did in this video and so far it hasn’t came on again. I know she hasn’t cranked it for a few days. But other than the lights her car ran fine. So hopefully it will stay off or maybe I need to replace the 12 volt battery..
Hey was wondering if very cold weather, haven't driven in a week or so, as well as really low tire pressure could cause this? Happened to me today...it drove fine but these exact lights came on. Its an 07 prius.

Hi Im gunna scsn my car with the OBD2 and see the codes before I try this or just use the scanner to clear the light. I already checked everything like the oil, coolant, coolant pump, battery health using the diagnostic mode of the display and all is good.
By the way I dont know if you care but you are fuly showing your license plate number in the video and some people would.advise against that.
My concern is the reason for it coming on. Resetting it isnt fixing my problem cause it keeps coming on. Im afraid im going to damage my car.

Just did it and it worked for now but I haven’t driven it yet to see if the light comes back on.
Why does this work? Or is it just resetting computer until the car shoots same the code again?
If there is a short time system algorithm detected, it won't show that red light again. But if it shows again, you've better check for the fault codes.
10mm wrench works too. I had to jump-start the proud then the triangle showed up.

Beware it can mean overheating and can blow your head gasket or cease your engine

Low 12 volt battery. It you have something plugged into car like odbll or if your tires are low then the constant draw and not driving car a couple days will start showing signs something is wrong. If draw continues it will wear out your 12 volt battery. Sometimes it'll need to be changed anyway. The system draw is usually the problem.

What kind of trick is this? The RED triangle can come on if you open your door while in gear. But, ok, if the hybrid battery is dying, this will not last 5 minutes while you are driving down the road and it will come on again. So...

This works temporarily but the triangle light comes back after driving less than 100 miles. There must be an underlying problem.

@@pinoypenoy9960 Excellent. That box with the plugs on it has capacitors in it? How'd you get it open? I was thinking of dielectric grease for the plugs. I'm getting certain that mine's getting water in it from the hatch above.

In my case, it didn't come back. But batteries are a bit weaker than before. It might come back anytime while we drive in a busy traffic and frequently brake. You should go to your car dealer after that for detail check 😂

Now you stick a wire and the OBD two number five and on number four turn the car on to click on the button and pump the brake eight times turn it off unplug the wires and VSC will be reset
HELP! I did this and it worked but the triangle comes back on again and if I turn off the vehicle and turn it on again it won’t start. I have to unplug the cord again and plug it back in for it to work. Does anyone know how to fix this ??
You need to check your car with ODB II device, or take your car to garage for checking. This video solution will help to drive your car shortly to the garage.
