    Great Video...I like the string system for putting stuff back in the hull...Great idea...that's my next modification to my old Jackson Coosa Kayak. Keep up the good work and thanks for the idea.!!!

    Love my 13.5 also. Really appreciate all the capability and versatility. Kayaking/camping/fishing, quite a rig. Fresh n salt both. Great investment!!!

      Yes Sir the 13.5 is a great kayak for camping. I have not had it in saltwater yet but I need to go try that out.
      Thanks for the comment!

    I have 13,5 Lure from 2015, great for camping, sea, lakes and rivers downstream. It's always nice to watch people paddling with kayak, trolling motor seems to be the only option for most.

      @Bamaoutdoors  2 роки тому +2

      Yes it's not as hard to paddle as I was thinking it would be. I would like to get the overdrive one day just for fishing lakes and see how I like it.

    I enjoy your channel. I own a Lure 11.5. I added a pod mounted trolling motor and a rudder to mine recently. Love it! Thanks for your vids!

      That's awesome I've been looking at trying a trolling motor in the pod too! Thanks for watching!

      Does the Moken have a different pod or is the same as the Lures? Maybe someone can help you out either way.

    They also have a built in wheel to make it easier to carry. You can also put a trolling motor in the center pod.

    • @Bamaoutdoors
      @Bamaoutdoors  2 роки тому

      I did realize I didn't even mention the wheel in the kill after I posted this but it was already a done deal lol. I was thinking of making another video and make some notes this time. I've been wanting to try the trolling motor in the pod or try mounting one on the back.

    Nice set up. Very similar to the way I have my 13.5 rigged. I've been fishing a lot on Lake Erie lately and it has handled the big water well. Of course I have been on multi day river trips on which the ample storage has been great. Keep up the great videos. ATB.

    • @Bamaoutdoors
      @Bamaoutdoors  2 роки тому +1

      Yes Sir it's similar to yours I took some ideas from you and used them on mine lol so thanks for your videos too! That would be awesome to get to fish on lake Erie that's about like going in the ocean!!

    Love all the storage on that thing! I’ll probably be in the market for a pedal drive at some point, but given that I really like my Pelican and would likely keep it as my ‘go to’, I’m thinking I’ll opt for something less expensive at least to start with…maybe a SeaStream or a BKC. Keep ‘em coming!…I’m at work for 3 more weeks (currently isolated with Covid!), then scheduled for shoulder surgery as soon as I get home, so I’m living the paddling/fishing/camping life through you and others, for a couple months! Stay safe!

    • @Bamaoutdoors
      @Bamaoutdoors  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah it has some good storage for sure. I would like to have a peddle drive one day too I've been seeing a lot of different companies coming out with more ever year. I just hope the can make some that's not so expensive. I hope you have a quick recovery with your shoulder I hear that it can be pretty painful.

      @@Bamaoutdoors Got something you need to try out! Picked up a pedal drive kayak Tuesday, for WAY cheaper than most brands. And that's not even the coolest part! It's a fin drive OR a pedal drive, your choice, and it takes a little over 5 minutes to swap between the two! Less than 2K for the kayak and both drives, plus a paddle and a few other extras. I'm still figuring on how to make its' introductory video...going to try to hit Geneva County Lake sometime early this coming week...that'll be my last chance to get a video for it together before I head back to work. When I figure out what day I'm going, I'll drop you a note, and if you're free and want to try it out, I'll meet you there. Stay safe!

    Stumbled across your kayak camping videos and im loving it! I wanted to ask you about your 11.5 though. Im goin monday to check one out and ive been looking at this yak for about a year now 99% sure im going to buy it but love hearing input from folks that actually have had one and see what your thoughts are on it. They are out of stock on the 13.5 other wise i might of looked more into that one but i believe the 11.5 will be just fine

    • @Bamaoutdoors
      @Bamaoutdoors  2 роки тому +1

      The 11.5 was my first choice too because I'm not getting any younger lol. I really like it it's a great kayak for me for fishing and overnight trips too. Now the 13.5 is not as bad as I thought it's just very long but a lot more room. I think you will enjoy it I did get the beavertail rudder for it and it makes a difference. I found one used too. Thanks for watching!

  • @sj9139
    @sj9139 2 роки тому

    depending on where you take your kayak I would highly recommend getting the rudder system, this kayak can be a beast to turn and track if the wind picks up. But I love my 13.5 it works great for fishing and if I brush it up, for duck hunting.

    • @Bamaoutdoors
      @Bamaoutdoors  2 роки тому

      Your right about that the wind can turn you around! I would like to get a rudder for it and try out a peddle drive too but they are pricey.

      @@Bamaoutdoors I run a 55lb thrust trolling motor through the deck with a transom mount and use the foot peddles to steer it's a lot cheaper than the peddle and overdrive system, just requires some dyi time
