Bought my Lure 11.5 (Winter Camo color) back in July 2017, through Hook1 in Hendersonville, TN, and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I ord'd the rudder kit and installed it, and it makes a world of difference in keeping it on track. The 11.5 isn't hard to maneuver without a rudder, the rudder just makes it a whole lot easier keeping it on track while paddling, especially on windy days.
I also use the foot-controlled rudder to drift and steer along the shoreline while casting/retrieving, when a slight breeze is at my back pushing me.
The wheel in the keel is handy on grassy, smooth surfaces, but I transit a gravel parking lot from the truck to the launch dock, so I invested in a C-tug, which makes transporting it a lot easier.
Very stable rig, and anxiously wtg for Spring to return to western Kentucky so I can get back on the water.
Where did you get a solid color Lure? Thought the Lure's only came in the camo versions.

I have the Lure 10 and absolutely love it..
Very stable and easy to load and unload at any of your destinations..
I ordered a Island hoppers trolling motor holder that they offer built specifically for the Lure line.
I will be using one this year to allow me to get out on some of the bigger lakes in my area...
The pedal drive looks nice but it costs nearly as much as the kayak itself..

I am really torn between the lure 2 tandem and the yellowfin 130t. I like stability but don't want to get bogged down either. I heard the lure 2 is very slow but stable. If you could do a video in the future on the lure 2 tandem solo and with a buddy would be very helpful thanks keep up the good work.

Does the wheel in the keel make that much of a difference when launching your kayak? Is it there for ease of launch and drag from the vehicle, or to just protect the boat from scratches? Thanks for the video. Leaning toward the 11.5, much is due cause of the wheel. Opinions appreciated. Thanks

  • @rogernicosia1134

what do you do for your fishfinder if you buy the overdrive system which takes up the place of the sonar pod? I am looking to buy and am between the 11.5 and 13.5. Problem is that nobody around here stocks the 13.5. I am 6'3" 275.

  •  5 років тому

Do you have to be a big guy for 13'5? What if you're a small guy with a big heart that wants lots and lots of storage? I'm spearfishing purely, so I need to tie the yak on kelps, or use an anchor while I'm freediving, and I like to empty my catch of fish and invertebrates back every 10-20 mins or so, the extra space is awesome for that matter. also I launch from the weirdest places, rocky and/or sandy beaches, I enter where the waves break and stay with my yak for a little bit, then jump in when it is calm. so I was under the impression 11'5 is what I need because of its size, but after watching your video, I now think the tracking is a lot better in 13'5 in northern cali waters.

Bought a 11.5 a few months ago and recently noticed water in the hull, (About 2 cups) . I was told that such a "small" amount was probably due to condensation. My question is, how much water is no longer considered small. New to the sport but any amount of water in the hull doesn't sound good.

THE SEAT IS ONLY MEANT FOR ALL THE WAY UP, OR ALL THE WAY DOWN.
YOU WILL BREAK IT ANYWHERE IN BETWEEN!
They use cheap parts all over these kayaks & are over priced. And Yes, I own one.

"If you are a BIG guy" immediately targets 50% of american fishermen. Nice marketing.

Wow, not once did he mention how this would be for a female at all. I have been a river guide 17 years of my life and boy you guys better address women in your videos too. How sad. Probably an oversite???? I really want one of these. This sort of discouraged me...

Leanora Premeau thanks for pointing this out. We’ll be more mindful in future videos. Happy Paddlin.

I must've missed the part where he addressed male-specific features of these fishing kayaks.

I also wonder if there were more fishing kayak reviews from a female perspective then would more single ladies be apt to buy a $1300 plastic boat and go out on the rivers and lakes to catch bass? Because it would be real nice if I had a hobby that I enjoyed and I could actually meet girls while doing it
