I'm just getting started on 5x5, I appreciate you sharing what you've learned. I always did a lot of running just for fun, strength training is brand new territory. Snooping around for any advice I can find.

@@fisherj5087 been doing it 3x/week since I posted that comment. Squats went from 5x40kg(88lbs) --> 5x82,5kg(182lbs) / Bench : 5x40kg(88lbs) --> 75kg(165lbs) / deadlift 5x50kg(110lbs) --> 90kg(210lbs) haven't done much of those tho. Doing pull ups and pulldowns as primor back exercices
Stronglifts works trust me. It gets so much abuse because other trainers can give nothing better. Stay with it and lowrr the weight increases when needed. 1kg instead of 2.5kg etc
Did you start program with just the bar?

if that's too light. It's not necessary if your form is on point
if it's too light for you add more weight (if your form is on point). Everyone is different, hence starts differently.
MUST start without weight on the bar, and those who haven't actually regret it later.
