So todays mission was to find a store in General Luna that I was told sold lunch meats and cheese. To our surprise they sold a lot more that we thought. Prices were a little on the high side but worth every peso we spent.

Makes a big difference, having foreign tourist to cater for. Where I live in central pangasinan, there are no tourists at all. Leave it to you imagination, what is available !! Lol

Hi Brian, I saw on their sign that Dales is a part of BelCris. BelCris is a very large restaurant food supply, food import, meat processing company in Cebu. Before CHMMP they were getting together with the restaurant food supply companies on other islands to work together to get better prices for the foods they import. It's worked out quite well as they can now be found all over the Philippines. Yes, the things they carry can be pricey. It costs to ship perishable foods from all around the world, but you're getting high quality imported products at probably the best prices you'll find in the Philippines. Another nice thing is, if they don't carry what you want, they can probably special order it for you because BelCris probably stocks it for their other distributors.

Mr Brian my wife and I would love to visit your island however we were wondering if it’s hard to find an apartment because we’re both disabled. My wife Remy and I have been to the Philippines many times she is from a little called Nueva Ecija, sorry not sure if I spelled it right. I love the area you’re in because it seems that you don’t have a lot of traffic and their also places where I can find American foods.

Interesting trip. I buy large blocks of cheddar cheese, cut it up and freeze it. Big savings over slices. Grass fed imported beef is rare here also. Many Filipinos do not like beef. They didn't grow up eating it and it has a strange smell to them.
Except when it comes to Bistek! 😉
They all like beef soup like Bulalo and Baca. I like it too. But its made from local carabao beef most of the time.

One of the benefits of provincial living... freshest fish! @1:04 I recognized that Yahoo right away. Didn't see any Mahi though. Lots of Taringnan (skipjack) which we like to BBQ.
Didn't see any prawns either. Those do well to barbecue. Also don't see any buko juice vendors. I wonder if fishing is allowed off those piers? 😂❤🎉

If ya vacuum seal the cheese it will be ok to freeze. Just take it out early morning to defrost for evening meal

Life is still way cheaper on this small Philippines Island compared to where I live on a small island in the Seychelles. I would like to see at least one small place like this here where I can get all of these. Here only the pack of cheese and the wings that money you spent in total will not be enough. I'm sure the slab of Mozzarella is around two kg that was in your wife's hands. Yesterday I bought one kg of Mozzarella here it cost me R450 that in pesos will be around 2000. One kilo of chicken wings here is around 250 pesos. That is if you buy only the cheese and the wings here that you bought I say it would be around 5000 pesos.

My wife sells imported frozen meat wholesale, the wings were very expensive. Normally 120-160 per kilo. I was expecting them to be close to 200 seeing as he has to ship them down there but not that expensive lol.

We have a bel cris here in san carlos. I love there bacon, ham and other things. Our bacon worked out to a little over 4 bucks a pound. Cheaper than the US
