I went to the orthopedic yesterday, i have been having severe knee pain!!! X-ray didn't show but mild arteritis. He probed around on my knee,i only have sorness inside my knee. It hurt when he lifed my leg and moved it around. He said most people come it here and have pain when he probs around on their knee not like mine. I mentioned this shift and El Paso Manual. He thinks I'm crazy, had a smart remark to say about you. He gave me a cortisone shot, much better. I wished i was closer to you. He said next would be MRI and that means surgery afterwards.
Sorry to hear your knee is bothering you. Hope you're able to find a solution. if you send us an email we may be able to help you find a good physical therapist in your area.
Thank you so much. This is such a good explanation of tibial shift. I am 73 years old and I do beleive now that this is what I have in my right knee after recollecting my leg posture for hours daily infront of a computer for about 2 years, on a revolving chair (right knee twisting inwards posture). The stand on which my computer is is so wrong for correct body posture..Then one evening, some weeks back, sleeping on my LEFT SIDE with a pillow raise for the right foot (to remove swelling at the ankles), my ankles were supported but my right knee was slumped behinde my left leg and twisting inwards, and was resting on the bed. Without raised support for the knee. This was the final straw. Swelling and pain the next morning, mostly on the inner side of my right knee, exactly in the areas you have described.. Thank you so much for the thorough explanation. I see also that there is nerve problem there where you have described..also, before this overstreching insident, to add to all this, I already had sciatic numbness in right side of my thigh ....Have L 4-5 (if I remember). slipped disk. Also, three years ago I fell of the ladder and my left upper femure was smashed, said the doctor.....not just broken. So a lot of muscles have weakened whith all the time in bed recovering. I am struggling to walk without lower back pain and right knee pain.....Your videos are SO helpful on understanding and about what to try and do. ❤
Great video describing the causes of inner knee pain. I just got on my right knee last year and a year after on the left knee too. I do not do any active sports so was surprised to have this pain. I do manage the pain easily by stretches and the exercise of pushing both both upper n lower bones in opposite, works like a charm. The pain/discomfort returns if I walk very long or certain tasks around home. I am able to do squats surprisingly without much issue.
I've been working out for 29 years, on average 5 days per week, and eat incredibly healthy. Outside of that, I don't specifically do anything special for my arms... some people have have calves that grow like weeds, some people quads, and for me it's my arms.
Hello Dr I have a few questions about the rehab on knee injury of soccer player. He was hurt during the game on the lateral side of his knee and he doesn't have any pain but he can't kick a ball with his injured leg.
Sorry to hear that. While I can't tell you exactly what his issue is, it's definitely worth getting checked out, especially if it's giving him weakness or instability to the point that he can't kick a ball.
I now understand what is going on with my knee from time to time. Thank you for sharing this video. I have learned what can be done other than counting on a knee brace.
I have had right knee pain around the pes anserine area that is on and off with nothing in particular that triggers it for like 2 years. I do have tight hamstring on the right even though I have strong glute max ,glute mid, strong feet, good knee control (all that as per my physio, did 4 months of physio) . No tight hip flexors. What can help my pain , nothing has helped, physio, strenghth training, stretching, nothing. could it be just hamstring tissue quality that is pulling on pes anserine, hamstring feels tight but i have good range of motion with it. Thanks 🙏 desperate
A lot of the tips in this video are well suited for pes anserine issues. If everything you've said is in fact true and the tips in this video don't help, it may be worth considering other causes of medial knee pain that could mimic pes anserine syndrome such as a saphenous nerve issue or L4 radiculopathy. Good luck!
An exercise I have discovered from other medical helpers, is to place ankle weights to your ankles, sit on a table, and slowly do small dog peddle kicks. This opens up the joint and promotes more blood flow to the joint. Add a hot wheat pack on the top of the knee, that also rushes more blood to the injury.
Thank you, I just started running getting this specific inner knee pain (overweight) and the exercise you showed really helped place things back. I will need to correct my running form I think to avoid this in the future. How long does the soreness usually take to heal if its only a sprain and not a tear or the MCL area?
You're welcome. I'm glad it was helpful. As to how far it takes to recover, it can range from days to months depending on the problem and what you're doing to treat it, so I can't really give you a good estimate.
If my pain is from a muscle sprain or tare… or a tendon sprain or tare….( from pronation or supination)… how long would that take to heal approximately?…. Is PT recommended?…what is a good brace for support for this?… thanks!… Pam
The hip can cause inner knee pain, but I don't know that I had a video specifically about that. Here's a video on inner thigh pain from the hip joint, muscles and nerves, which can also contribute to inner knee pain. ua-cam.com/video/1llsKIGmX90/v-deo.html
Twisting, it explains why, after swinging the golf club, I get this. I am 65, and I was told I have deterioration in my meniscus. I have custom orthotics, which helps, but then I get other problems like back spasms etc. They can never seem to make adjustments that solve everything. So I will stretch everything out before and after, and apply Renu 28, which works like magic. Thx

Sorry to hear you're struggling so much. Unfortunately, without having evaluated your case, I can't really tell you what the next best step would be. I do hope you find a solution though. 🙏
Hi sir I got inner knee pain when I bent my knee backwards. But when I lift my knee backwards using my hand there is no pain. I can walk properly though but it is painful when I bent backwards
If you can bend it with your hand pain-free but it hurts to use your muscles to bend it, it sounds like it might be a muscle problem - hamstrings and/or calves. Make sure to get it checked out with a healthcare professional though.

Physical therapy shouldn't make your pain worse, but not all physical therapists are the same. If your current one isn't working for you, you might try going somewhere else or seeing a board-certified orthopedic specialist physical therapist.

There are often nonsurgical ways to relieve the pain. They don't make the osteophytes go away, but can make them stop hurting. Knee replacement is a last resort.
Usually not while you're wearing heels, but wearing heels can make your calves tight. So, when you go back to flats or barefoot, you may end up overpronating.

Can wearing heels cause that pain ??
Usually not while you're wearing heels, but wearing heels can make your calves tight. So, when you go back to flats or barefoot, you may end up overpronating.
Just give tips and not lectures
