I thought the rotary's main issue is oil/fuel consumption, and apex seals and loss of compression. How does a billet block cure those issues?
@@juststuff5216 in my opinion its a safety thing firstly for drag application they don't bust then drop oil over the rear tyres. then I think its a boost thing u can run more boost with them 35plus without damaging housing surface then there are weight benefits bearing benefits etc

nice interview, the future for rotary engines is looking promising, when all the pieces of the puzzle come together including custom rotors etc the possibilities will be endless & what he said at the end is what i always feel that the rotary comunity has each others back & supports each other, there is more than enough hate out there for rotaries & the rivalrys between Oz & PR etc is a friendly one & keeps things fun hey :)

@@misfirerotary cheers :) when the day comes when they can build a complete engine on their own it will be interesting what kind of experimentation will happen from there, possibly things like using the same basic geometry but 30, 40, 50 etc percent larger making for say 2 litre 2 rotor engines which would produce more torque lower in the rev range & more hp while still keeping a small foot print, the future of rotary engineering is looking exciting that's for sure hey :)

@FuLLeFFekT1 The RB Cast Plate may lighter. Be being Cast they are porous due to the Casting Process, so they cane have weak Spots,etc. Billett with Hardened Caoting is going to be Stronger and able hold together under Higher Revs & Boost.

If George could actually drive a car like Rocky could, the 20B would be already in the 5s. 🤷 Rocky was a God on the street and he was one of the three best drivers I've seen in over 25yrs. ♥️ I wished he got back behind the wheel but I totally understand why he doesn't anymore. 👍

Theoretically, if you have a proper eccentric shaft, and a good set of housings, etc., you could build a killer 4-rotor with these for probably a fraction of the cost of a stock one.😁👍

A reliable rotary would be some thing good. Too scared to ever own one due to many horror stories
each to their own but there'e nothing quite like the uniqueness of a rotary, for me i find 2JZ swaps nearly as boring as LS swaps hey :)

@Josh Owrns rockwell, Its how you measure the hardness of metals. Most hardened steel is between 40 and 50 rc.
He said the coating brings it up to 80rockwell.
He said 80 rock wool, but I'm sure once you translate that to English it's 80 rockwell. Friggen hard.

Guys I want to say something. Look at LeMans Hypercar 2021 regulation. They allow the Wankel Rotary to compete again. Should Mazda respond to this?
If they did this mean that Rotary are now capable of passing at least a Euro 6 emission standard. Keep in mind for anyone to compete in 2021 top class, they must build at least 25 unit of fully homologated road going car. Is there any hope for future Rotary? What do you guys think?
I will love to see Mazda grown a pair and not only produce a rotary car for the public but also kick some butt in Le Mans
I love rotaries sound power all of it but I’ll never build one again until they’re reliable I don’t even want a race engine just a abuse built one.
