Wow!! I was still in Kindergarten when this episode aired!!! I probably watched the 2nd half of this episode when i got home from school because my mom loved this show!!
These were the days. GL was so great then. Then they wiped out the cast for the Lewis gang and Reva and the Shaynes. Along with others like Kyle and Sally, Alexandra replaced Alan, India,, a new Ed and Maureen Bauer, Sonni and Will were as big as Diane’s Murder. Claire and Fletcher. Those were the last good days. They really wiped out the cast of the early 1980’s. But we still had Ross and Henry and Vanessa.
I was a teenager in the early 80s and enjoyed watching GL when Grant Aleksander was cast as Phiilip, Rick, Mindy, and the original Beth, along with Lujack. I loved the Lewis family and, of course, Reva. Young and the Restless was doing the same thing with replacing the Foster and Brooks families with the Newman and Abbott families at the beginning of the 80s.
@@tammylewis2408 That was a trend in the 80's on OLTL the Buchanan's replaced Lords and Woleks. On Days the Brady's, Kiriakis's, and Dimera's began to replace the Hortons. The Chandler's and Cortlandt's on AMC. The Kirkland's replaced the Ryans on Ryan's Hope to the point fans dubbed the show "Kirkland's Hope". GH completely revamped adding the Q's and Spencer Clan. A lot of this was the Dallas effect add a wealthy powerful family. The only one to buck that trend slightly was the Brady family who were more working class than the college educated Horton Family. In most cases many viewers look at the new additions as the core families of the show who they now remember as central to the shows, but at the time it was like watching a swarm of invaders taking over.
Hard to imagine that he would have been having affairs with three women on the show (Rita, Eve and Diane). He was super-creepy, and had all the personal charm of the robot from "Lost in Space".
The quality of this video is amazing. This is one of Guiding Light's many great eras. Thx for the upload.
Bert always was a favorite of mine. Reminds me of my grandmother. ❤
The good old days.

Schade nicht mehr im deutschen Fernsehen 😢
Barbara Norris Thorpe was a great character
Never knew Mike Bauer had such a nice "backside"! Those khaki pants he has on fit him perfectly!
still loving 'The Light' in 2024

I never cared for that either. I think this is when I didn't watch like I used to!

Thank you for filling in the gaps in 1980

At 19:41 in , close-up of doctor Greg Fairbanks he reminds me of Fred Gwinne (aka Herman Munster) 😅

I was born 4 days later
The man who played Roger, died of ALS, so sad!
Michael Zaslow was a terrific actor, and I hated how he was let go from the show when he was diagnosed.
BLT-i'm pretty sure the episode you're referring to is on youtube as i've seen it there
Would love to see the full episode where Kelly exposes Nola if you have it.
I really miss GL!
This show was so good early 80s then once Reva came on it was a different show going into the 90s.
Cant remember the lady in white lab coat green shirts name or the girl she is talking to.
The lady in the white lab coat is Dr Sara McIntyre and the young lady is Eve Stapleton McFarren.
I don't remember - did they ever officially write Ann Jeffers out or did she just disappear like I think Steve Jackson did?
I believe she was reunited with her son, from whom she'd been separated for many years, and they moved to some other state.
I was still in high school
Floyd BEFORE he became a Killer !! 😂😂
Floyd was a killer? You got to be kidding!!!
@@GeminiladyJackson-xq6hc Yep - He killed Andy Norris, who shows his nasty face in a few months in the GL timeline.
Chris bernau was best alan
He sure was. May he RIP.
I wonder what Maureen (Holly) and Michael (Roger) talk about as they're racing down the street! Lol
The (not so) good old days. LOL
