My grandfather rode ashore at Normandy in a Higgins boat. He made it as far as just outside Bastogne before being very badly wounded. Thankfully he survived. I learned more from him when I was growing up than from any other single person in my life. From gardening to how to sharpen an ax to how to shoot - and do it safely and well - to framing carpentry to fishing of all sorts. He was my primary inspiration for enlisting and serving. I'm new to your channel, but really enjoying your videos.

My father was on one of those landing craft boats on D-Day. He said it was the most harrowing experience in his life. 80% of the men in his unit died that morning on the beaches of Normandy. Looking back it’s hard to imagine the sheer terror a young boy his age then endured that day. Rest In Peace Dad.

As much as the coverage of the lake, its recent changes and all its fun activities, are great content, every single one of your videos show how a father and son should be in the world. Whatever the father did to raise a strong, confident, articulate son should be in a book. It's a shame that people who don't know this family might see them only as part of a particular demographic. On D day he was in the engine room awaiting the command for full reverse and manually engaged the engine. Over a decade ago Al Gore claimed the coasts would all be underwater by now. Strangely enough beach front property is still selling and insurance companies still insure it. The rains and snows will come again out west. I have been getting torrential rains for nearly 3 years out here in Tennessee. Unless they bust the dam, Lake Mead will hit 1983 levels again. I love you guys for all the cool info you always bring to your videos, but I’m especially impressed with JR’s love of WW2 history!! I’m such a history buff myself, as my grandpa served in WW2 on both Guam and Iwo Jima. He saved currency from both places and brought it home with him, ( among other things… like the Willys Jeep he drove). and I still treasure it to this day.

I'm glad you guys are bringing this to public awareness, not only for the environment but also to show your great example of a dad spending time with his kids and teaching them skills and passing on knowledge, care, and respect for nature.

You know, I don't even like to fish. But I like watching a father and son bonding over a similar interest.. I wish my dad and I could do the same. I guess I would have liked fishing, if my dad would have brought me out on the lake. You two are awesome. Thank you for the content

I salute you both for your unique father and son(s) relationship as documentarist on the happenings and discovery's of Lake Mead. I, personally, never been there, but would like to one day and hopefully shake the hands (and have a cold one with) who brought all this into the light of Lake Mead. Good job and smartly done! From one Veteran to another...out freaking' standing!

I used to live in SoCal. I've been on Lake Mead with a friend and his dad years ago. Came across your channel because of the water levels, but I've been checking out a lot of your other content. You two do a fantastic job, and I absolutely love the Father-Son experiences you are sharing! Makes me miss my Pops even more.
By the way... where can a fella get a Sin City Outdoors hat!??👍👍👍

Uk guy here, I love that you guys are showing love to the people who live on or with the lake. Also at the current rate how long do you think it will be before its going to be unlivable/dry?
