you're the best!
If anyone is listening now in late 2023, please stay positive. Also this mix is just what I needed. Thanks.
Sometimes nice to read random positive comments like this. You too
Life is great in late 2023 !!!
These are the only comments that matter. Cheers!!
February 2024 and shit is getting real out there. Peace, positivity and this playlist to get us past 🎶🎶💕
Been going through some struggles lately, but I'm trying to be grateful for the things I have right now. Thank you for your comment.
90s intelligent dnb sounds way more futuristic that most current electronic music...
The future was better back then
ive never even heard new DnB as of recent... this is really the only era where this exists where it matches the complexity of the beats as well as the atmosphere overall..
I miss all the GOOD racing games (need for speed 3/high stakes/Gran Turismo) when they used ACTUAL electronica style music. I felt like I was in a car show all the time. And the music in general just FEELS GOOD. Compared to the new shit, its all hit and miss. Or a bunch of remade nonsense because nobody can be original anymore.... ~_~
@@mratlas3364 if i has GT5 i would def have this in the background
Y2k is still the future.
This music is really helping me breathe my way through a panic attack
distract yourself by doing other things that take your focus, even washing the dishes, that helps a lot
best wishes to you
Im 17 and found DnB last year and have been loving it ever since
The elders approve.
You will love it for all your life kid
Welcome my friend, welcome 💫 help keep this music alive. It's important 😎
Anytime a dnb mix opens with Hypersleep you know it's going to be good.
This is the sound of my endless journeys on rollerblades - headphones on, riding through the fields for hours and hours, occasionally greeting a cow or a fellow human, completely in sync with the music. I cannot begin to express how happy I was then. The combination of rhytmic movement and this music: Heaven!
How do you use rollerblades in the fields?
@@TheDoc7 here in Europe some fields have friendly tracks, why do you want to expect rolish grab and stones :) But, well that be must last thing EU have done. Hope it cures your tracks visions, ah and mine too. We don't have one here I hope we never have one to replace nearby forests. ROFL.
There are roads that pass through fields.
I fist discovered DnB while rolling too. (lol)
That sounds like an absolutely exhilerating thing to do, I never learnt to roller skate - I feel like learning now 😂
its Jan 1st 2021, i start my year with this mix. Much love to everyone everywhere. Bless
je dis pareil! 1er mix de l'année et pas n'importe quoi..Atmosphéric dnb! Meilleur voeux à toutes et à tous! ...Bonne ambience...PEACE

How is the year going so far?
@@Dare_Mo764 very well thank you! i hope you can say the same
Just years ago, I used to think DnB was some of the most boring, yet out-there music I’d heard. Now it makes absolutely perfect sense.
I have bad news for you mate... Im afraid it is jungle
...and it's terminal.@@user-nk7bn3gm6x
@@user-nk7bn3gm6xwell really this mix is a mixture of Drum & Bass and Jungle aspects at different times.. for producers like Source Direct it was interchangeable as a term in the beginning of the scene.. but the mix starts out as Drum and Bass then grows into a more Jungle influenced vibe as it progresses, in my opinion.. but it's all open to debate as Jungle is drum and bass, at the core of it all, but there are definitely pure Jungle elements later on in the mix
your point being?
Love it! Takes middle aged people like myself back to the golden era of Bukem, Progression Sessions, Blu Mar Ten...you get the picture :)
Yeah have no idea what you said but I feel ya none the less.
Yeh Crayfish ReGen and Buric Tribes...
@@neo1gen Yeah, I know none of those, but never got too far into the DnB genre. Roni Size, and I saw Phantom45 at an after-hours party at my university after he did a show in Chicago back then.
golden era of weekend-long raves in the middle of nowhere
acid was an appetite reducer
Within said picture must also include Seventeen's Elixir, Exonerable, and Tabular Drift.
This sounds so unbelievably fresh! I don't get why this genre isn't any bigger..
If it got bigger, it would have become commercial, thus ruining it. I know that sounds cliche but really really think about it.
@@BrenBertozzi I see what you mean, but these people are so talented and deserve more recognition. But there's nothing wrong with an underground genre!

@@gado__ Agreed! The best music like this is found here and nowhere else.
i miss hearing it with my 21 year old ears... with my 21 year old buddies!
never understood why early 2000s documentaries used this so much in them. i forever associate it with modern marvels and wings
probably because they thought it was "cool" and "hip"
because it captures your attention but isn't so in your face as to be distracting
@@bermuda333 I believe, it really was "cool" and "hip" back then ;)
Reminds me of playing Gran Turismo on PS One, brick cell phones and pagers, MTV, VH1, top 40s radio, The Matrix, large fat desktop computers hooked up to dial up, cool people in non-designer clothing with funny hairstyles, vhs tapes, kids in playgrounds playing outside, blockbuster and going to the movies, manual cars... just living life, turn of the century, pre-to-post-internet...
Well said
Worrying about Y2K and thinking a DVD is the coolest thing ever, I can skip to any part of the movie omg the quality.

This kind of drum n bass is great for long travels and those long waits in the ticket lines. I'm a frequent traveler where no place is like no other.
Im in love with late 90s dnb, but today a really sad and depressed day, i wish my buddy could sit with me tripping on molly listening to this..
Maybe the reason why you are depressed is because you take drugs that completely fuck your brain
early 2000's fighting game menu type beat

When I listen to this melody I imagine that I am inside an elegant and futuristic car imaginatively traveling down the snow covered highway without stopping, sitting atmospherically.
with absolutely 0 friction to the road, just smoothly gliding on the road at 200km/hr
@@lavun4175 Many Thanks.
_you know we have reverse engineered extraterrestrial space craft, right? Many many decades ago. So much for the future. Just sayin'. Not trying to take away from your imagination. Imagine traveling in the air. Anti-gravity! Metal from a distant world. Drum and Bass ... from a different world._

For me, IDM/DnB rapture started with Need For Speed 2, 3 and 4 soundtracks. Rainy days, hazy rear lights and an endless sunset sky ...
Most definitely man!
need for speed 4 high stakes - probably the main reason why i'm in love with electronic music.
this soundtrack cannot be described in words. when i heard it the first time i was shocked. also there was fifa 2001, gran turismo 2, nhl 2000-2002 (especially nhl 2002, Rom Di Prisco is godlike) and so on, musically it was a great time. it's scary to imagine what my taste in music would be if I was born later :D
sadly i didnt play in nfs 2 and 3, but I listen to the soundtrack from time to time, it's just awesome. (especially Aquila 303 and Hydrus 606, again Rom Di Prisco is god :D)
in short, I subscribe to your every word :D
@@BK-201 Exactly how I feel. Thank you.

Thank you very much my man. This is so soothing and good. I went to the park, it was raining a little bit. I sat on a bench - trees around, I lifted up my head and saw tree's canopy and little droplets of water gently falling down and I listened to this. It was perfect - thanks.
I wasn't even born in 90s but these are my kind of music
I like the atmosphere of them
imagine somewhere that played this and ppl could just chill or do whatever feels good
Thanks for the upload, these tunes still transport me to an entirely different world, almost 25 years later, they still sound like the future....
Amen 🙌🙌

I close my eyes, turn up the volume and it's like back in time, for real. Really miss those days
i literally listen daily
The sound of Ridge Racer 4. So many memories.
wow. rain outside. just sit and work/chill listening to this. so awesome. for me this sound is in many ways associated with childhood. late 90, early 2000. at that time it was somehow magical and very atmospheric. thank you so much for this mix 🖤
Did every detail have a unique emotion? Like you could feel colors, spaces, textures, and impressions? Did deep red feel deep red, not mysterious or ominous?

Makes me miss DNB raves in the 90’s. Saw Ronnie Size live back then was fantastic! 🙌
90s that was era for everything..
This music always reminds me of those arcade racing games where you actually sat down in a seat with a steering wheel. Good times.
My kids love playing Mario Kart that way. They still exist!
this actually sparks something in me.
Wow, great set!! it reminds me of the time around the year 2000. At that time I was in a club almost every Friday🤭 My favorite was the Roxy club in Prague. They mostly played techno, trance or tech-house on the main stage, but in the tea room (chillout zone) they played exactly such "intelligent d'n'b" like this. My friends often found me there, because I usually liked this music more than what they played on the main stage 😂...
I went to that club one time, think it was 2002. Was weird as a tourist, Czech culture different, but the locals helped me out, great night.
90s Ridge Racer vibes LET'S GOOOOO
something about this makes me want to drive a very fast car :D NFS!!
I hope everyone gets to experience the trance coziness this picture depicts
Oh shit... When a DJ set starts off with Voyager - Hypersleep, you know it's gonna be good :-D

Love the Aliens sample on Voyager track

i love when drum line is programmed in this way. not too much craziness like in drill'n'bass, and still not too simplistically looped like most of the modern dnb
Wtf is ^drill n bass?🙄🤷♂️🤡🤦♂️💩
This can really be soul healing. 🥲
When Jungle was breaking and Drum and Bass was developing It felt like life, and music, was going to keep on getting better and better.. was truly great to hear the development of Hardcore into Jungle and Drum and Bass..
Big up Ruftone for holding the fort at the nights i put on back then (Godhead) and to Ontology for keeping the flame alive.. and to "Take Me Back Pirate Radio" for the time machine.. and to anyone feeling it.. i hope life will be really good for you all

"How long, please? ... 57 Years!" ~ Aliens 2 Love sci-fi movie quotes over drum and bass. Thank you!
That first Bass drop. I'm middle aged too and this still sounds modern to me and yes better than a lot of the liquid mixes with ads every other track. This is sweet.
That excerpt from the movie Alien in the beginning of the mix... Perfection.
FYI it's from Aliens (the second one).
This kind of music fills me with emotion but leaves me with nothing to say. Life gets increasingly complicated, but here in the eye of the storm im reminded that that the game is worth the candle.
Most drum and bass tracks these days just sound like gaming tunes no imagination or feeling.Brillant tracks please come back and rescue this genre.
This mix is unreal, start to finish. Could not love anything more.
Amazing, going straight in to the car for my evening night drives.
Lo-fi is just intelligent DNB in halftime.

The 90s DnB ,jungle, techno, house, garage, was the best era or I’m getting to old now, even my 20 year old son prefers the old skool 👍
I'm 18 and I completely agree, I've been captivated with this era for years as well, your son's got good tastes.

I embraced almost all the sounds the 90s had to offer and this break beat and Jungle sound from the UK formed some smooth memories.. Goldie's Timeless felt like the perfect album to sum up that

Timeless times i did listened timeless track from Goldie. I can't name how my headphones loudly delivered that magic to others around, I went like flu with that. People went to get it, stuck on it and searched for more that was fantastic time in whole club culture, here in Lithuania,Poland,Latvia.
