90s Ambient Jungle Mix [7] (97 - 99' Atmospheric DnB)

- A few of my favorite late 90s atmospheric jams, hope you all enjoy! The late 90s sound was incredible. The sound of transitioning into a new millennium. 🌌
1. Aural Imbalance - Realm of Innocence (1999)
2. Voyager - Apollo (1998)
3. Future Engineers - Counter Balance (1998)
4. Moonchild - Possible Worlds (1998)
5. Indica - Bypass (1999)
6. KMC - Alpha Centauri (1998)
7. Future Engineers - The Silence (1997)
It's 2022. This sound will always be the future. So amazing how one who drums back in the 1950-1970s turned one simple drumbeat to this. It's awesome.
@Non-Duality they knew.
Thank Clyde Stubblefield. A fair amount of dnb samples his drum break
The very last real futuristic sound except maybe a juke thing of late 00s. Miss this sound, this feeling so much
AMEN!
@Kegan cells divide baby!
Now release me from this one!
There's something amazing about how this kind of music simultaneously sounds retro and futuristic
Oh yees
its like watching ghost in the shell
Being the 90s teen, when this music was being played, I didn't feel retro. For me and my mates, it was just futuristic, spiritual and liberating ;) And what I understood only later - the 90s electronic was very atmospheric, nostalgic and psychoactive. Now I'm 42 and I still love it. And I find it touching that the "retro" element you're feeling might be😊 the echo of the emotions of thousands of people who were creating and listening to those sounds back then. Peace ✌️
P.S. i had Ghost in the shell on VHS, my favorite cyberpunk anime
retro mix, futuristic ideas
top music blat
I'm feeling this kind of music
is being reborn
totally is! lot of new stuff coming out, exciting times for the genre
@@4AMBreaks ive been feeling like making jungle / intelligent dnb for a few years but now i feel a lot more motivated to pursue it because it seems like other people my age would be more into it now than they wouldve been a few years back!
It never went away.
God I hope so.
@@nayi999 Please do my friend!
The UA-cam ones are always so much better than Spotify
This is so true.
This is the sound of a time When we all had something to look forward to
yeah in the mid 1990s the future felt like it was going to keep getting better and better
i hope you have a good one
The sound of a future that never was
But can still be... ...but can still be. Always in motion the future is.
Absolutely
@@Droopy95mkDS The fact we are here listening to this music today supports your comment even more.
Planes go boom ✈️
Bro it is right now, we're listening to it
I always find it stunning how such fast-paced genres like jungle and DnB can be crafted so as to evoke relaxing landscapes, either organic or futuristic or both at the same time.
Yup, the tempos are going berserk and yet instead of feeling claustrophobic, there's sooooo much space to wander around and get lost in.
The tempo has two levels to it.. The fast aspects.. and the slow steady flow that underpins it all..
I think in a lot of ways the slow steady aspect to it that underpins and is the foundation to the beat and vibe in Jungle comes from the Dancehall/Ragga Soundsytem Soundclash type of influences that were strong on the development of Jungle and what became Drum and Bass too (and hugely influenced what became the UK MC styles in the Raves and on Pirate Radio etc and developed through time into the Grime and Drill MC styles
Thats exactly the aspect that lends Psytrance its relaxing effects as well, its chords are slow and calm while the triple beat is on the higher BPM end, as it can be observed with this Breakbeat IDM/Jungle Hardcore mix as well!
rough times for when things fade in:
0:00 Aural Imbalance - Realm of Innocence (1999)
8:15 Voyager - Apollo (1998)
14:53 Future Engineers - Counter Balance (1998)
22:20 Moonchild - Possible Worlds (1998)
34:22 Indica - Bypass (1999)
38:40 KMC - Alpha Centauri (1998)
46:34 Future Engineers - The Silence (1997)
Thx!

People who comment timestamps on youtube videos are going to heaven. no one else
@Koizumifan-tw9dc haha yes
Voyager - Apollo is just. Damn, take me back.
So lucky to have been in it while it was being born.
DnB was my first djing love.
Big up to a love that has lasted all this time.
I am sitting on a patio staring out onto the sunny ocean, watching the waves curl to this music. It's so beautifully hypnotic.
I’ll try this on my next trip!!
nice...i hope you all have a Really good and happy future
Music form the future yet always classic.
its a very snowy day here in finland, very calm and quiet. fits this mix perfectly :)
rakastan suomea ja haluun mennä tuolle. toivon et kaikki hyvä on ! terve amerikasta.:)
Kato joku muuki on suomest
Sounds amazing!
I used to love walking outside during the winter listening to atmo and jungle dnb when I was in Finland it was amazing 🥰
This music is sublime. Ambient Jungle has always been a distant paradise, like Avalon, untouched by the destruction of time. I listen to this and I am bathed in its resplendence.
I listened to these mixes all the time when i used to live in boise idaho, riding on an electric scooter in the big city eating good food and drinking good drinks. Was a great time
Such a fantastic mix :) Couldn't agree more. The late 90's had so much to offer in terms of imagining a bright future for humanity. This music stands as a testament to that era. Stay happy and healthy everyone out there!
While I listen to this wonderful music I tend to forget these tracks have been recorded 20-25 years ago. They're still so fresh.
@@sobersky3716 Very true! A sound very much ahead of its time.
Exactly
So much imagination and hope. We really thought we were revolutionary. Maybe we were, but society didn't follow our lead. Maybe next life. Much love to all the rave era kidz.
90s - 2010 were huge both for visions of the future and music
Imagine being a kid in the 90s I heard this type of music at burning man in 1998 I was only 8 years old nostalgic
In 1997 I was somewhere almost none of the peers around could comprehend. That were the best days of my life. I think I had everything I ever wanted back then.
Where were you?
Maybe you were rich
people who know... know. We had a thing. It was a beautiful moment in time.
in 30 years, this will still sound modern.
I was just born in '97. This vibes take me back to the early 2000's when PS1 was still a big thing and I used to spend a lot of time playing games such as Ape Escape, Spyro and Bloody Roar II. Sweet, sweet memories.
Yoooo those games were golden! Never heard someone mention bloody roar before...classic. what u know about pepsiman, crash team racing, and gran turismo 2?
I'm from the same era and I can relate much. Been thinking about this vibe since the last few years. I think experiencing it as a toddler or very young child definitely left a special mark on us!
You remember the early 2000s? Really? You were awfully young then, I was born in 1990 and just remember fragments from those days now.
i was born in 95... my first memories were the folders of demo disks for the ps1 my brother let me play with... the music on the disks and in films of the time will always make me sad 😢😢
The PS1 was dead by the year 2000 dude
The early 2000s belonged to the PS2, Gamecube, Dreamcast and Xbox
This is the type of music I plan to create one day. The sound of the soul itself...the sound of energy being repurposed...the sound of the spirit inside all of us...it transcends the definition of music in such a way that it brings me to tears...like I'm listening to a montage of a past life. I've never heard something that does that so strongly but this...this is it...
This is god.
thanks for the visualization of energy being repurposed, will definitely use that inspiration as i hope to make jungle some day too! hope i hear you around soon
It’s all a vibration, the music, the universe, you and the whole of humanity. Blessed to hear this too man!
How are you getting on with this? Is it "one day" yet? Show us your music.
@@IDS78 I've got some on my channel but need to update it. Haven't done Jungle stuff yet. Been swamped with life issues and finding a better job after an hours cut. Hoping to eventually get into Jungle though!
God is much more than this i invite you to read the quran and follow quran alone islam. God is only one and god blessed you with ears so you can hear sound like. Have a good one my friend
I was born 1998 and take me back in the early 2000 growing up even as a small kid I knew the sounds was so much impact in my taste in music and art style of the y2k
90s break beat and jungle were among THE BEST ever. I would know because I grew with it. 1990 I was 20yrs old.
sweet as a spring breeze on a winter afternoon
Great quote
This is like legitimate badass real break beats ❤❤ love it. Late 80s and 90s were THE BEST 👌
Awesome. This is the kind of music this world needs right now. It feels like its healing.
Keep coming back to this one it’s just so dense epic
Liquid. Intelligent
I was kinda stuck in a rut these days (I am hopefully finishing my Master's thesis in 2 weeks time exactly, but I was just not really in the right headspace most of the time or something which... worries me, as you may understand). This mix helped me concentrate or at least get going. Thank you for uploading! Cheers!
how did it go? everything turn out okay?
Gran Turismo was my first introduction to Jungle tbh
Эта музыка перегнала время, что в годы выпуска, что сейчас она воспринимается как музыка будущего...
holy shit what a sound! take me back
I don't know why but this makes me imagine my 3 year old self in 2001 trying to play my older cousin and brothers dreamcast/ps1/SNES
Its because all those games had DNB and Jungle soundtracks. You were hearing this music without even knowing it!
this joint smooth AF
I was born in '93 but this resonates w/ my soul.
Was born in 2001 but this time of EDM music is the best to me so atmospheric and layered
There wasnt such thing called "edm" this was dnb, period
@@Haryel1987 you know what i mean its all Electronic Music.
@@therealamon well thats it: ELECTRONIC MUSIC, edm is the crapy side of proper electronic music
Don't matter. Amon likes. Start from there and do good stuff to the future. Cheers to all 🍻
@@Haryel1987 agreed. EDM is the distillation of the formulaic tricks employed by late 90s/early 2000s electronic music and abusing them in formulaic fashion in order to emotionally manipulate festival goers. It is soulless. It lacks the experimental freshness that the true pioneers engaged with. Do not equate their work with EDM.
Ancient jungle mix
we need more 90s Ambient Jungle Mix [7] (97 - 99' Atmospheric DnB)
or at least videos with wonderful titles like this. so many good recommendations just from the specificity here
Such a progressive, focused mix... I miss the old days lol (I’m only 28)
For all who were there,BIG UP'S for still being here "4L"! To all the rest, same same!
I plan on learning how to make Jungle Music more and just experimenting with tons of options man! I love 90s Jungle Music, DNB, Techno, House and more. Everything is so timeless yo
Same for me atmospheric jungle is just something else
I found this about a year ago, and I still listen to it every now and then. This has to be the best ambient jungle playlist I've listened too. Thank you for creating this, and thanks to the actual artist who made these 💗♥♥
Good mix, thanks for sharing this. I immensely enjoy listening to this as I work from home in 2022. Back in the late 90s I was not working while listening to this lol...
I will be forever grateful to Unreal Tournament’s Facing Worlds for exposing me to this type of music all those years ago.
Same thing led me here too!
I'm old enough to remember the emergence of this in my 20s. Its a genre that's almost 'open source'. You can do ANYTHING with it! Looking forward to growing old with working ears & headphones. What other genre spans 3 decades & gets more interesting with each successive one?
Loving it!
this mix has made me hear stuff in a new light. thank you. you also inspired me to make a track which led me onto something quite special. big up 90s ambient jungle vibes. smoke a bag n zone out.
Matrix/Animatrix, Metal Gear Solid 2, oversized clothing, British tv shows is what I’m feeling and seeing as I’m hearing this
all i ever do anymore is sit in my dark ass room and listen to shit like this. good playlist. thank you for uploading.

Beautiful mix and visuals, this type of music kept me sane as a troubled kid and always has a close place in my heart. Liking and saving this, thank you :)
That ending is honestly historic!
This mix is so dope in so many ways - feeling very grateful for this upload! 🙏🏼🙌🏼🏆💣💥
9:30 yes
Huuuuge mix, love everything about this from the music to the visuals. Thanks for uploading. Old school dnb is what keeps me going at work these days.
fucking phenomenal, no filler, just raw atmosphere
It's the early 2000's the original Xbox just came out and there's titles such as Blinx and Jet Set Radio!
Brilliant, loads of quality tunes I've never heard before on this. Nice one mate

Ah yes, take me home. 🖤🎶
yessss thank you 4am breaks
Even as a huge fan of dnb in the 90's, there are so many mixes full of tracks I had never heard and to be able to discover them now, 20+ years later, is amazing.
check my last mix here on youtube of 2000s LIQUID DNB JUNGLE made on ableton
This guy's channel has some of if not the best 90s jungle/dnb mixes ever created
So much imagination and hope. We really thought we were revolutionary. Maybe we were, but society didn't follow our lead. Maybe next life. Much love to all the rave era kidz.
I love your mixes. Awesome work mate

Love it, decent music to relax in the bath with 💕💕💕💕
This gives me an xbox 360 vibe right here. Good job on this mix!
95 was my favourite year
Great selection
thanks tim!
This is music to work and feel like programming genius Sutherland about to create the first CAD illustration program in the late 60s. 😎 so cool.
That's amazing
epic mix. saving
I love this ❤
Listening to this kind of music makes me want to fire up an old white PC case and play old games on it. I miss the sound of floppy disk working.
wowzers !!
you just wanna taste, touch and feel it. but you cant. there is some kind of aesthetics that makes my senses mesmerised. its like the music of spheres. the more ambient music with less vocals the more chances to get in touch with the source.. or god.. or demiurge.. name it whatever u like
