    Fantastic video system you have, the footage superb, thank you for sharing. I have a 16 model K1600GTL but I normally remove the top box I see you added. Anyway great vid look forward to your next post.

      Digger thanks mate for your kind words, yep decided to ride with the top box as I needed the extra space to carry stuff. Good figures on fuel consumption, I suppose mine is about the same at 5.75 litres per 100 kilometres (452 k’s riding distance ), safe riding and thanks for the comments 😁👍

    Could you give an idea on the fuel consumption on the K1600GT ? Would like to know your average consumption and the range you get from a tank. Have fun, because looks like a great trip :-)

    • @RMK67

      THANKS for the wonderful comments - Ahh good spotting, I used a product called "Selleys Knead It", its a STEEL Polymer Repair Compound that adhere's to any steel, so I moulded it onto a 3M FASTENERS RF6730 and then placed it onto the inside of the handle bar, then used a zip tie onto the locking key of the GoPro remote as unfortunately I lost one only two days prior as I didn't use the zip tie in-case I failed to mount it properly - Safe riding and thanks again for the comments, appreciated... :)

    Tell us about the bike, looking into getting one. Too heavy? Good power? Good on gas? Great vid

    • @RMK67
      @RMK67  5 років тому +1

      TheCenturion8404 great bike but yes heavy and exceptionally good at freeway and speeds above 60 kph, below this speed in tight twisting roads, be prepared to work hard and its exhausting but I’m lucky that I also have a R1200 GS Adventure in the stable for those days when I want to scratch at below 60 kph. Other than the weight the K1600GT is a bloody awesome bike, just get the ECU flashed so you’ll get away from EURO4 and she’s back to my loved 2015 model 😁👍

  • @newboscoddog01
    @newboscoddog01 5 років тому +1

    Why do you stay in 4th gear a lot of the time and sometimes 5th ???? I have a K1600GTL Exclusive and it is so torquey it will pull in any gear even with pillion. On those good open tarmac roads I'd be gliding along in 6th gear going at least 140kmph ( here in Ireland anyway!!!) . Just came accross your Blog and I am loving it so far - apart from that gear change ;-)

    • @RMK67
      @RMK67  5 років тому

      newboscoddog01 you’re exactly right, 6th gear would have been a far better gear and this stems from the lack of responsiveness on the 2019 model due to the Euro4 that at around 130kph in top gear, the throttle response is very poor, thereby I had a tendency to ride in 4th which isn’t favourable. Now I’ve come from the 2015 model that was just awesome in the top gear with torque, so yesterday, after receiving delivery of my ECU back from Bren Tuning in the States, the bikes “brain” has been re-programmed back to the 2015 specification and I’ll be vlogging my review of the updated (or should I say, retro-grade) software once it stops raining ☔️ - appreciate the comments, Cheers RM K

      @@RMK67 Thanks for that - I hadn't been aware of the change in the 2019 model performance. It was the sound of the engine which triggered me to look at your dash and see that you were in a lower gear than I would normally be on such roads. (Reminded me of those elderly women in cars screaming the engine along in 2nd gear !! ;-) (If it's any consolation, we here in Ireland are having the same miserable weather and hoping that tomorrow will be okay for our next spin as we haven't been out in 3 weeks).

    • @RMK67
      @RMK67  5 років тому

      newboscoddog01 hehehe elderly woman in 2nd gear, now that made me laugh 😂 and great observation but the good news is, MY 2015 GIRL IS BACK 😆, had an hour of zero rain and dry roads, so took her out and what a difference, can’t believe the engine / throttle change, the sound, actually I was totally blown away 😱 Will post my results by the end of the week but throughly impressed. Ireland and rain, yes well I have only experienced a little of that with my Welsh wife while visiting her home town a couple of years ago (as it rarely rains here), ride safe when the weather gets better 😁👍

      @@RMK67 It's good to see that someone can read some constructive "criticism" without taking offence. None of us like having our riding styles criticised but you have explained the reason and I hadn't been aware of the lack of performance of the newer K1600 compared to the 2014/2015 models. And we DID get out for a spin yesterday with no rain !! Actually our 6th rideout of 2019 so not doing too bad. Last year (2018) we had a fab 3 months of sun here in Ireland - beautiful biking weather. You should check out fellow blogger Richy Vida and his English pals who did the Wild Atlantic Way here - some great video footage of beautiful Irish scenery. Safe riding. Looking forward to going through the rest of your videos.
