    Is that a AirHawk seat. Did you feel it was a big upgraded to the standard seat of the GT ?

      @RMK67  4 роки тому

      No mate it isn’t, it’s a mesh seat cover for the summer riding, basically to cool down the nads 🤣while riding inside the big fairing of the K16 😁👍

    Thanks for your vids, I am picking up a MY 18 K1600GT tomorrow, I was contemplating 15\16 year, ( especially after your 15/18 comparasion),:but had
    quickshifter on my previous bike (Aprillia Tuano) and now feel it’s a must have, will follow your blogs as I will be interested to see how the ecu upgrade goes . Many Thanks again keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing move vids as we get into the Australian Summer!

      Warren D cheers and thanks mate for the sub, the 2015 was the best bike in my summation but I also made the decision that the quick shifter was needed and the clunky 2015 transmission was painful 😖 safe riding 😁👍

    Hi from 🇸🇪Sweden🇸🇪
    The quickshifter from the K1600’s is so smooth compared to my 2015 GSA 😲.
    Nice v-logs 👏👏👏

      Hello Ake, wonderful to hear from you and yes, the quick-shifter is incredible and very, very smooth, just love it and your right, I have the 2018 GS Adventure and the quick-shifter isn't even close to the K16. Thanks for watching the vlog and your comments, always nice to hear from the ones who watch the vlogs, more to come soon, actually this weekend, Cheers RM K... :)

    Which equipment did you take? Do you have BMW road side assistance?

    • @RMK67
      @RMK67  4 роки тому

      Eduardo Rodrigues side panniers, top case and additional water proof bag with extra gear (which I didn’t need), as for BMW road side assistance, the K16 was only 2 weeks old so that came with the purchase 👍

    Thanks for another great vid RM K, keep up the good work. I'm envious of your trip although the temperature seems a bit extreme, do you guys use cooling vests and the like in conjunction with mesh jackets?
    - 2 °C here in Scotland going to work at 05:30 hrs, the devil and the deep blue comes to mind.
    My 2016 K16 is in the garage although it has all the heated grips and seats for winter's use; the cheap council feckers over here use road salt that aggressive that would turn it into a festering white covered heap in a couple of months. I use a 20 year old Honda Blackbird as my daily commute, the older bikes were better finished.
    Sorry to hear the euro6 bullshit has had an effect on performance,the those Europeans have a lot to answer for 😁.
    I look forward to your next vid; springs round the corner for us poor saps in the northern hemisphere, I look forward to that also.
    Ride safe.

      Digger apologies for the delay in responding and we can thank UA-cam for that. Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 love your country, I was married to my Welsh 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 wife in Gretna Green and had a wonderful two short days but I plan to spend more time in Scotland hopefully in the next couple of years. Yes mate the temps are horrible and unfortunately cooling vest just don’t work at these high temps 😩 but -2 C, although I do enjoy the cooler temps ice, snow ❄️ and salt would also be my concern especially with the new bike. Good idea with the Blackbird, certainly will look after your K1600 during winter 🥶, so next vid due this weekend as I’m just putting the finishing touches. Be safe out there, really good to hear from you as I enjoy knowing people are liking the vlogs, lots more to come (and some silly shit due to SatNav’s), all the best 😎👍

    Picked up my GT Sport nearly two weeks ago. Just love it compared to the GSA. Great vids, looking forward the next instalments. What is the screen extender and seat cover you are using there mate? Stay upright, and well done.

    • @RMK67
      @RMK67  5 років тому

      Cheers Mate, the next instalment in about 2 weeks (so much work to produce)... Screen extender is from Wunderlich - www.wunderlich.de/en/ and is actually for the GSA but I put it onto the K16 get to get the air over my helmet - works perfectly. The seat cover is from Cool Covers in the UK - www.coolcovers.co.uk/, prefect for those hot and humid days when you don't want your nads sticking to the seat, again great product, I purchased the cover for the GSA but when the spokes failed a test with BMW, I put it onto the K16, fitted perfectly and did it help with some of the hot days encountered while riding down to Tasmania... :)

      Paul Griffiths you lucky, lucky sod, my GSA is only 6 months old so I’ll have a wait a couple of years before moving up to the 1250 but from all reports, it’s a cracking engine upgrade 😎👍

    Just ordered a new GTL
    What is the throttle problem?

    • @RMK67
      @RMK67  5 років тому +1

      Peter McLean not a problem as such, it’s the Euro 4 program that retarts the throttle response as this to me, is more evident as I came of a 2015 model which was just a snappy, responsive throttle to a bike that I continually had to drop down two gears to overtake traffic. The 2015 in 6th gear would just sling into action, no need for extra gears at speeds above 100 kph and was a pure delight to ride, that’s why the ECU is leaving for the States on Monday to be reprogrammed back to the 2015 specs 😁👍

    • @getyourmotorrunning...
      @getyourmotorrunning... 5 років тому +1

      @@RMK67 Thanks for the heads up
      I read the specs and they seem to have an up grade - more power - more torque
      Are you doing this or is it a retrograde step?
      I will probably wait until I get mine and see - mid March should be here :)

    • @RMK67
      @RMK67  5 років тому

      @@getyourmotorrunning... No definitely not a retro step, in-fact I'll keep the power and torque increased but it's the ECU which controls the throttle and mapping to the engine. All I'm doing is reverting the ECU set up to pre-2015, it keep the power and torque increase for the 2019 model but just allows the big girl to spin freely via the throttle management system. Keep watching as I plan to do a vlog once the ECU is back in my hands...

      I'm in Michigan, (USA) and, of course, don't know the European regulations; is this part of the Regulation, if I remember correctly, and if it even still exists, that limits Europe's Motorcycles to 100HP? I remember reading it in Cycle world, I believe, about the Vmax being restricted to 100HP. Now, of course, it's done with software, but is your throttle restriction, from the same type of regulation? Also, I have a 2012 GTL, as you know, they are quite the ride! Do you ever use your wind deflectors in the heat? They work really well, but the wind gets a little annoying after a bit... but it suuure dries you out! @@RMK67

      @@mikevanderstelt4706 Hello Mike, its great to hear from a new viewer in the States, have a couple of mates in Texas and you gotta love Texas, what a state and the guys have promised me an incredible trip when I finally get my butt off the chair and onto a plane. Yes, your correct, the 100HP restriction is basically, offensive and one that again, the Sates will fix for me (Bren Tuning), yes a I'm a big fan of the US, tried to convince my Welsh wife to move but she won't be into it - shame... Anyway have a mate here in Australia looking to move, so you never know I might have a base of operations soon... :) Oh and no I don't use the wind defectors as they seem to unsettle the steering, so it's sweat during the hotter months of the Queensland tropical summer, Ride safe out there and great to hear from you Mike, keep watching as more to come...
