Gerald only found out about him because emerl reacted when he was doing tests on a chaos emerald. not a correction but a comment 8:17 near the start of rouge's story eggman explains that the phi was powered by a shard of the chaos emerald he crushed. so all that means is that he crushed the chaos emerald into multiple pieces and gave them to the phi. This could be a reference to sa2 where knuckles broke the Master Emerald into shards and after collecting them all they fused back. So the chaos emerald being able to be broken kinda makes sense. And if anyone were to do it, it would probably be someone with the strength or technology to do so, like eggman

I’ve always wished sega would port the advance trilogy and battle to new systems, like the switch eshop, or steam. They only released the advance games to the Japanese e shop on the Wii U, which sucks. The worst part of it is sonic battle has SO much potential. All they need to do is fix some of the problems this game has, and copy the same general style and storytelling methods and make a sequel that blows this game out of the water. I’d love to see that happen some day
You can actually hard reset the game by holding A + B + L + R + Select + Start to get out of the Mine Hunt Minigame or anywhere else in the game. Edit: You forgot to mention in the Emerl episode you can go to the Central City and put in codes at the Sonic Team building to get cheap specials that always one-hit KO people.

Sonic Battle probably has the best story in the sonic franchise. I literally haven't played a sonic game with a more emotional story than battle's.
What about SA2s ending? I know it's not a spinoff.
