- I cycled out to a fairly remote piece of woodland for a quick ovenighter. Packed very minimalist for this one as it was a "Last minute" planned adventure. No stove, Just water and a pork pie:)
For some unknown reason youtube is de subscribing some subscribers from my channel, this info came to me by a good friend who was subscribed then had to re subscribe again, not only once but several times!!
So just check your subscription status and if your not subscribed then please do, without subscriptions and views and comments this youtube channel like any other won't survive, it will get pushed down the ladder whereas some other channels that seem to put out utter dross seem to flourish (just an observation).
It's a bit like the TV where soap opera's did very well (to the detriment of the family and how people behave) instead of promoting healthy positive content.
youtube have this dreadful thing called an algorythm and it has to be pleased unfortunately
Thanks Ninja:)@@mtbninjawarrior
The Bingley Wheeler has had this issue and thinx it's when people are watching on their tv's not their other devices or something. Some of the buttons are hidden.
Could be Simon. I am also a subsvriber of Dave the Bingley Wheeler:)@@simonchilli2088
You are such a “trooper” Sandy. The weather isn’t going to stop you from getting out into the great outdoors. What a kind lady stopping to make sure you were alright👍👍.
Take care, stay safe, well and happy 💕💕. Judy🇨🇦🇨🇦
There's some nice people in the world Judy, infact I would say most folk are good it's just the minority that aren't
I'm just turning 77 years & I still so love my bicycle riding sir! My bicycle is my gymnasium & although it may take me twice as long to go half as far as I did 12 years ago it dont matter as out & about through the forest is good for the soul as well as body! I may not feel like going out sometimes but once I;m out I ride through my aches n pains , feeling so much better having done so ! Thank you for another video report Sir!
Robert, I'm beginning to understand how age effects us as we get older, Keep on cycling, it's the only way!
Hi get yourself an electric bike and be out for twice as long
Lovely video, very peaceful. Thank you Sandy 😊
It was a great adventure, always worth getting out:)
The kind lady who stopped to check on you is a Super-Star in my book!
Thanks so much for taking us on another adventure and sharing your beautiful homeland and your beautiful soul. You're a great inspiration, friend... Cheers!
Yes I would agree, such a kind thing to do
As a cyclist, I have often had other cyclists ask me if I'm OK if I've stopped by the side of the road for some reason. Perhaps it's partly because I'm female and of an age when they think I wouldn't be able to manage if something had gone wrong! But I think it's just a thing that cyclists do anyway - offer each other help. I think it's lovely. I have done it myself.
Love your videos Sandy, thanks for making them mate. I feel like you have become an old friend, keep the adventures coming.
That pork pie looked amazing, Sandy. Great record of your trip 👍
Hey Sandy ...
Greath RESPECT !!!! ... for this journy ....
i keep follow your adventures ... and i love it !!
grtz. Janneman from Holland ( Eindhoven) ...
Another enjoyable video from Sandy it’s just great to be out in the countryside camping cycling motorcycling now spring is hear
It's only going to get better Chris:)
@@WiltshireMan so much looking forward to a moto camp on the Himalayan somewhere hopefully the weather is going to get better
That was a nice gesture from the lady who stopped to see if you we're ok Sandy 💛 A bit a of a clarty ride in though and beautiful footage 👌 well that pork pie scene had me salivating Sandy 😋 And the meteorological 1st of March ,, is my Birthday Sandy 🙌🍻👍👌
Very "Clarty" Martin, we have had a lot of rain this Winter!
PS Forgot to say "Happy Birthday" Martin:)
Nice lady stopped to see if he was ok, and the other car nearly ran him off the road.
Morning sandy, that was me beeping and shouting at you on the Magic Roundabout. Hope you’re well.
Take care
Dan.
Hi Dan, I did hear a beep but didn't know who it was:) Hope your doing OK? I was heading out when I was stood by the fire station to Four mile clump, I know you have been there in the past too when you did a cook out on the folding firebox stove i think.
That's one we'll deserved pork pie Sandy. Crickey what a battle to get there!
The weather seems to be relentles with the rain for months now,so I hope you get better luck next time.
Take care. Best wishes, P & M .
It's been a very wet winter thats for sure Peter
Nerve wracking watching you go downhill in the wet, sounds like you had fun. God bless you.
yeah, I was like... if he crashes at the end... that's gonna hurt.
I trust this bike Linda, it has solid thru axles and disc brakes
You did very well, such joy when she burst into life, good on ya
My wife has decided we will have to bye a pork pie tomorrow. Great video. Thanks. Phil. 🇬🇧
Hahaa
Really enjoyed this one Sandy nice Simple adventure 🙏👍
Simple is often best
Another cracking film Sandy, and some good drone footage too, let’s hope the weather gets better soon, cheers.
Lovely countryside Sandy. Thanks for sharing. A very light camp and light food
Light is right Denis
Just love your spur of the moment adventures. Whatever the weather.....hope that pork pie was as good as it looked 🙂 x
Pork pie was all the fuel I needed, and a spur of the moment adventure often works out far better than a planned one
@@WiltshireMan yes definitely..just take it as it comes. X
I admire your pluck Sandy. I originally found your channel when seeking reviews of the Woods Walker stove. I have visited from time to time ever since. Your channel and "Simon, a Bloke In The Woods" are two of my favorites producing outdoors content from the British Isles.
Yahoo, good man. This weather been so damp, I had thought of buying a kayak to "tide" me by, Sorry Sandy.
Another inspiring video Sandy. No stove; just water and a large pork pie with some wild camping. It just goes to show how little we need to recharge ourselves.
I’m always impressed with your filming. It takes a lot of effort to set up the cycling through shots. I know you’ve said how long the editing takes but the results are worth it. Please keep posting.
Thanks Jeremy,
I tried to keep things simple for this video. More adventures in the pipeline
What a lovely human the woman was for stopping and asking if you were alright.
There are still nice people among us. :)
Yes, a very kind thing, she is a lovely person
Your camping videos are comforting regardless of weather conditions. The UK countryside and the way it’s presented really does the trick for me here in California. Roll on Wiltshire Man!
Glad your enjoying the sights and sounds of Wiltshire all the way over there in California:)
Just as well you went light weight, Jacobs ladder was a killer!
Another lovely adventure camp...come rain or shine Sandy will have an enjoyable outing and in the process spice it up with interesting historical things to see.
Thank you Sandy for sharing👌🏻
Glad you enjoyed the video Paul:)
Hi sandy it's good to be out in the rain and the mud now and again. Good for the soul Atb. Johnny
Sometime, we just have to grab the opportunities Johny
Thank you very much Sandy for an excellent video. Lovely filming and narration. Keep up the good work.
Thankyou Neil
Stand and deliver yon pork pie that i doth spy. You are a gun Sandy, thanks for taking me for a spin through familier territory even though 50 years n a bit has passed since last felt it n smelt it. Best wishes from Robert another Wiltshire boy in NZ
Ah Robert, glad you got a taste of your old haunts from this video:)
Brilliant. Well Done for getting out Sandy. A great video.
A micro adventure Powered by a Pork Pie 😂👍👍
That was kind of the lady to check on you. Another great adventure, thanks Sandy.
Your mental and physical stamina is very good Sandy, the mud, hills and inclement weather is enough to keep most people indoors, the pork pie looked bloody nice, thank you for your efforts mate and all the very best to you and your family.
Still doing alright Paul even my hip wasn't too bad either but walking long distances is now difficult especially carrying a pack
@@WiltshireMan There is a point in older age where we have to make choices, our bodies can't do a lot nowadays 😞 we have to except we're getting old lol
Another great video Sandy and thanks for showing us your adventure fuelled by a pork pie.🥧
many thanks Sandy for another most enjoyable video, a lot of time and effort, much appreciated 👍👍👍👍☺☺
Thanks Max
Great video out of very little Andy well done👍
Thanks Brian, all you need are a few basic bits of kit and a pork pie:)
A pork pie, a bicycle and a free night perfect! the world needs more people like the lady in the car. Love your videos.
This was brilliant, thank you 😊
Thanks Marlene
A great adventure Sandy-Loved the Stonehenge or should I say Clonehenge 👍
Hahaa Clone henge, love it, I shall have to go back and take a closer look:)
Thankyou sandy that was a real treat, light uncomplicated camping, can't beat it!
I was going to say that all we have had recently is wind and rain, so you are lucky...until half 6 haha....sounded cold too!! You could have taken a flask of slurpy, or the means to boil some water for breakfast...a hot drink is a must [in my mind]. Welcome to spring. Life is good, and good gets better....
I did mis my morning Slurpy Bry but I was back home by 8AM and Manfy made me a lovely coffee:) Maybe take a small lightweight stove next time though. Yes Good get Better:)
Manfy eh? haha...@@WiltshireMan
Superb night stills from the Go-Pro!
You're much better than me at seizing the opportunity to get out there
I love pork pie's too 😊
Happy Springtime! 🌱🌿(...and by god, do we need it!)
Thanks for sharing, Sandy
I wnated to travel light on this adventure so the Gopro and the drone was all I took, they are a compromise camera but the images were OK
The beautiful owl sound always tug at my heart strings, the music with drone shots was wonderful Sandy. Very muddy but well worth venturing out. Thank you for another lovely video. That lady was kind. We love pork pies but I’d have to have some chutney with me😊
I must admit Anne the sound of Chutney with the pie is good:)
Nice one Sandy, good to see you're still fit enough to ride your Bootzipper. Ebikes and motorcycles only for me these days. Now its spring, really looking forward to some dryer weather, these past few months have seemed like nothing but rain, rain and yet more rain.
I hope I can keep riding a normal bicycle, I certainly want to for as long as possible, but I also enjoy the E bikes and ofcourse motorcycles too
Hi sandy you speak a lot of sense every one needs to get away to chill out from time to time so I am going to Aldbourne for a night out all the way from North Devon really looking forward to it your video are so very enjoyable
Aldbourne is a lovely place, I was there yesterday, you'll see it in my next video:)
Brilliant I am really looking forward to it
Powered by pedal and a pork pie, perfect! 😄
You certainly earned that pork pie, Sandy. Another great vid showing off some beautiful countryside.
It was lovely to be out Steve despite the wet and cold weather, Opportunities must be taken when the present especially as we get older! The Panniers have been a great asset to me:)
How wonderful Sandy that you have illustrated how our mostly lovely country is waking from it's Winter slumber, even if, with all that mud and flooding, it does seem to have had a bad case of enuresis this time around. Amazing where a Pork Pie will lead you....I wonder where a Cornish Pasty would take you? 😁
Ah a Cornish Pasty, Now that is food for thought, I'll have to plan an adventure based around a Pasty, thanks for the idea Peter:)
My kind of fuel one large pork pie. What a great adventure bike ride lovely woods and an Owl just what's needed to get away from society and chill out and be one with nature. Thanks for sharing and enjoy the weekend.👍
I think that lady restored my faith in humanity. Enquiring if you were ok. Of course Dick Turpin might not be so considerate if you bumped in to him. Thank you for enduring the elements to bring us a great adventure. You must get your brother out on a camp. That would be awesome.
The power of the internet .the pork pie segment got us. Hàd to buy one today. Lovely it was too
Hahaaa
I’m still subbed Sandy 👍 that was pretty minimalist ! I couldn’t go without my stove for a brew. It looked bloody muddy up in those hills , roll spring and some warmer weather . Atb Dave
I shall pack an ultra light stove next time Dave, I must admit a brew would have gone down well
The Fiido T1 pro would have shot up Jacobs Ladder and be in heaven before you got out of breath! Great day out - roll on blue skies..
I doubt it Dee, the T1 has slick tyres
Good point. Quite a few people have put knobblies on them, but as I haven't fell off yet I'll stay with the slicks - wish me luck:)
Well sandy ,you make me envious of your pork pie.😢😢
Can't get em here in Ireland ,they don't understand the superiority of a decent pork pie.
A pleasure i seek every time returning to UK.
I worked for a butcher up Malvern show ground that made superb pork pies of many varieties..
A good pork pie will keep me going for a long time:)
Brilliant Sandy....thanks for sharing. I agree, we all need to get out solo camping ....just for therapy 😉
Simple ticks boxes in my mind Sandy just shows if you can be bothered to get out there what you can enjoy on your own thanks for sharing 👍👍👍
That would have been a good trip with the Fiido T1 Pro…! Love your short overnight camps.
Thanks for another great video and the effort in making it. You cant beat a pork pie. 👍
Well done Sandy another adventure it's good to see you out again. that pork pie looks tasty enjoy your journeys Sandy👍🍺🍺🍰🚴
Love your films the real deal! Pork pie 1st class just needed a cup of tea with it all the best keep them coming! All the best
I think next time I shall pack an ultra light stove for a brew up
Very good video that one, Sand. Enjoyed!1
Thanks Bruv, it was nice to get out for a camp
Great video Sandy, they're medicinal,as others have said nice for the woman to ask if you were ok,pork pie=👑king of pies, just added one to the shopping list
I tasted that pork pie 😂 taste vision viewing! I believe it was the wettest Feb recorded. There's nowhere left for water to go! Well done for camping and taking us with you.
Nice one again bud, the only thing missing was a spot of English mustard.
I've gone in that wood numerous times, Sandy, as a rest stop (brew and cake) when I do a big 11-mile circular walk , always wanted to camp there..
And I swear your pannier dropped a foot when you plopped that behemoth of a pork pie in it.. Great watch as always, Sandy..
Cheers Joe:) It's a lovely woodland for sure and plenty of nice flat ground at the far end of the wood, ideal camping spots there. I don't tend to hike as much now due to a degenerative condition in the right hip but thankfully cycling isn't an issue, it's always good to get out. The Pork pie was lovely:)
That was great Sandy! I always enjoy coming along with you for the rides.
Thankyou:)
Thank you for sharing your adventure! You are a real inspiration, Sandy. you are in excellent shape. That pork pie looked good. Cheers!
Thanks Dan, my body seems to be holding up well despit age and a few health issue's, hopefully the heart and muscles will keep working for a few more years:)
Pork pie power is real! 😋
Its long haul energy
Well done on getting a camp when many would have just sat in the house due to the weather..lots of mud and a few testing climbs. Brilliant drone footage of your camp area. A sheltered pitch .I don't know how you survived on just a big pork pie....I would have needed coffee and more coffee . I loved the night shots. Best wishes and many thanks.
I must admit Andy a coffee would have been nice, I'll probably take a small stove next time
Can't beat a good pork pie.
good vid on one nite camp thanks lee
Thanks Sandy, lovely pie.😊
Great to see you out again sandy as usual very inspirational mate
👍👍👍
That good I had to get me a pork pie
loved that Sandy, we are so blessed with what is around Swindon.
Enjoy your adventures, just read that you’re a Ham radio operator, So am I. I am Doug, KC5UUS. I’m able to work England some from Oklahoma,I just worked Ireland yesterday on20 mtr. Be fun to work ya sometime..
Really enjoyed the video, beautiful countryside and how nice the lady checked on you, a lot of effort in the conditions but well worth it in the end for those views and escape from the city, sounds like you had fun
Thanks for taking the trouble to film this adventure,I envy your get-up and go!
Thanks for watching Alan
Really enjoyed the video thank you! Agree with you about lightweight - it’s good to get back to simple ways of doing things and a small tent, decent air mattress and sleeping bag and a tiny stove are all you need. OH - AND THE PORK PIE!!! 🥧 You’ll have to drag Dave and Tony out for another adventure again soon I hope - three men and their pies ❤️
Spot on, I shall do my best to keep the weight down from now on, It was a lot more fun not having to lug the weight
Took some risks there leaving your camera on floor through Gorse Hill and Manchester Rd 😂😂😂 I was brought up in Gorse Hill so nice to see it. Great trip 👍
Yes Dave, the town areas can be a bit dodgy
Thanks, Sandy. Lots to enjoy in this first video of Spring 2024. That was some hill to ascend and descend! I admit to laughing when you lunged at the pork pie, but a good pie is a beautiful source of energy. I really appreciate how you capture the detail and the grandeur of the landscape. As to low light filming, there seems to be an emerging view that the Insta 360 out-performs the Go Pro by quite a margin.
Loved the trip down the avenues and alleyways of backstreet Swindon Sandy. And the great camp as always.
That’s one huge effort to make that video like that, I very much appreciate such an interesting film.
Nice adventure, another good video. I’m afraid to admit I have never had the opportunity to enjoy a real pork pie over here in the U.S. They sound delicious. Hope you made it home without getting a real chill. Downhill in the rain is nice if you’re heading home, but can really freeze you. Happy Meteorological Spring.
Hi Gary, it was a bit chilly but once the legs got going I soon warmed up:)
A very simple and basic bike/camping adventure. It wasn't the most comfortable way for you to do it Sandy, but it was a way to have a thought or an idea and just decide to make it happen. You gave your "bike motor" a chance to exercise and your mind a chance to wander and recharge. In other words, you took the sour lemon and turned it into a pork pie banquet. Mission was accomplished. Thank you so much for taking us along with you once more. Your time is very valuable and your sharing of it is appreciated. See you on the next one.
Thanks Terry, certainly the conditions were against me but the experience was priceless:)
Hi Sandy, you definitely braved the weather it is certainly none stop rain at the moment. Funny yesterday I was going to do different route and photograph the Henge on the way back. Due the state of the weather and tracks I end up heading out to Lechlade to photograph the old mill on the river leach. A coffee with that giant pork pie would have been an extra treat. ☕️☕️🥠🥠
Thanks Charles, I knew Jacobs ladder was going to be a mud fest but packed the bike light, It is always best to travel as light as possible, something I am going to do more now. Much easier on the legs:)
That’s not a pork pie it’s a work of art lol another good video thanks
Thanks for your hard work in making these videos Sandy, it must take twice as long having to go back and get the camera every time. Really enjoy watching and it takes my mind off these mad times we live in now.
Yes, it takes a bit of effort but I don't mind, it's all good exercise I suppose:)
That was a really enjoyable film Sandy. Lovely little instantaneous adventure. You certainly looked like you enjoyed your pork pie.
Yep all looks good my end bro, that's odd about your subscribers. Enjoyed this video too. Still getting nice days here which is a complete contrast to last year being mostly wet. Safe travels. Ken.
It's been one of the wettest february's on record for the UK Ken
Just moved out to Wiltshire and got my Bootzipper a few weeks ago. Can't wait to find a localish spot to go cook some sausages and maybe do an overnighter!
I've got a few bikes including E bikes and my favourite is the Bootzipper
Nice to see you back out on the bike nice and the pork pie and the car who stop to see you were OK you can't beat a good pork pie and a pint nice and hot the pie I mean and a Newcastle brown ale to wash it down bit wet out there it looked but camping looked good nice and quiet stay safe and stay healthy one life enjoy blessed be
Great stuff,, all the best,,,...
You're a real offroader, I know people with "Raptors" who wouldn't dare go there!
Once again I followed you on the OS map from town to Four Mike Clump, what a super adventure. Up very high at 250M too. Lovely vid again Sandy.
Oh What an epic film. Wonderful filming, super simple setup and food. I love your up and at em attitude. Thank you for sharing. Cheers
fair play to you sir. I wouldn't fancy camping in these conditions, its been so wet. Keep up the great videos!!
Piggy pie power, put some salad cream on it and it’s unbeatable. Great video WM👍👌
Salad cream! sacrilege! Colmans!
Nice one Sandie, Thanks for sharing your start to spring with us, that four mile clump is a lovely place and some of those trees must be 2-3 hundred yrs old, interesting sudo Stone henge monument, have a good spring day👍
What!!…… eating an MM pork pie without English Mustard, I can scarcely believe my eyes, what is the world coming to. Another top vid, keep it up.
Since I've had my labrador 2 years now, I've never eaten a full pork pie! 😊
Same here, you will have to get out with a pork pie and leave the dog at home!
@WiltshireMan your right! But only when I'm riding my enfield. Otherwise, he's my sidekick.
Enjoyed that, Sandy 👌
