You do live in a splendid area sandy 👌 All those lovely cottages and beautiful countryside 👏👏👏🇬🇧 My wife had a good chuckle , when you commented its better to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission 👌👍
@Wiltshire Man push the boundaries ( push the button ) have you seen my latest post on insta Sandy ( sugar babes push the button , 61 and counting down 🤷♂️🙈👍
Great to see you finish your vlog in Marlborough. I was born 68 years ago in the cottage hospital at the top of the hill. You and your friend did a really nice ride around the beautiful Wiltshire country side, I certainly saw some good places to visit. Thanks for all your efforts in bringing this vlog to us all. Phil S. 🇬🇧
Great video! I had my hip replacement 7 weeks ago and I’m back cycling and lifting weights in gym. Going on a canoe trip in Easter holidays. If your hip is bad, get it done it’s brilliant. Great inspirational stuff from you, Sandy 👍
It’s so heart warming to see you with your vintage bike, brings back childhood memories (57 years young), none of this UA-cam/influencer electric bike freebies working on the wrecked health of a generation of Congo child lithium miners!
Great video Sandy, and well done to you and Tony for completing the trip. It's great to see the some new (to me) places and some that I recognise. I don't usually make New Years' resolutions, but I resolved this year to wild camp at least once every month, so I bivvied on 27th Feb. Cold night, but fine with my Nordisk sleeping bag and down jacket. Maybe you were out then too?
WELLDONE Steve, a noble thing to Wildcamp once a month and thats something I shall try and do also. I got my dates wrong on this video, we actually set out on Wednesday and got back today (Friday) the 3rd of March. It will soon be Spring. The Ortleib panniers are fantastic:)
In 20 years or so when I approach your age, I plan on keeping strong through biking like you. Very inspiring! Biking kept me healthy in my youth and to this day and it will when I retire some day as well!! One of my favorite things, clears the mind as well.
Your videos inspired me to bring my wife to Swindon for a few day's holiday. We accessed the downs to the South, the hills to north and went north west . It was a really nice part of the UK to take time out. Thank you Sandy.
That was an extremely beautiful and interesting bicycle excursion Sandy. You are so fortunate to have such interesting and historical terrain in locations that are so near where you live. I think that this ride would remain very interesting and inspiring even after being repeated numerous times. And I am very pleased to see that you are still putting the old and nostalgic bike that you have in service every once in awhile. It appears to be a grand old machine that deserves a little occasional highlighting. Your sixty years old legs propel that 40 years old bike along very well my friend. As always, thank you so much for sharing your time with us. See you on the next one.
Ah splendid sandy, I’m laying here just having had my wisdom teeth out. I’m very spaced out & not allowed to do a lot as I’m still feeling the effects of conscious sedation drugs. Finally something good to watch. By the way Biggles didn’t look a plonker in his goggles, he looked an Ace!
Really enjoyable video Sandy. You explored the parts of Wiltshire I’m familiar with as my Grandma was from Westbury and I still have family living in the area, so get down to see them when I can. You cycled past Great Chalfield Manor where my Grandma was sent, aged just 14, to work in service in the 1930s. She was really unhappy there and couldn’t wait to go back home, bless her.
My mother and her sisters all went into domestic service also in the 1930's and 40's, I think it taught them a lot of good skills but was perhaps hard work at times. Luckily for Mum and Aunts they were all close to home
Brilliant video Sandy. I really enjoyed seeing your tour. There are some lovely villages around there. You must be fit as a fiddle covering that distance, very impressive. Thanks for the film.
Wow Sandy, the way you described Swindon at the beginning of the video it sounded like you were talking about Detroit, MI, or innumerable other urban places here in our dear USA. Yet, what I viewed seemed quite clean and civilized!
Wonderful vid. A lovely tour around a lovely county. We are so lucky to have it on our doorstep. I know it hasn’t got the mountains or the coast but it has got plenty to keep me happy. I shall now seek out Crumbz cafe. Thanks
Another great video sandy , would have loved to see more though, i think you could have easily done 4 videos on that route and uploaded them individually at @30 min each. Keep up the good work
Thank u for taking me along, I’ve longed to visit England, my mom, daughter and sis have, I use as well, until that day I enjoy beautiful England vicariously through videos like yours, and oh, I think the goggles look cool!
Hi Peter, Yes Swindon was once a very proud town with heavy industry, many famous heavy loco's were built here and the "Sheds" are still here too right where Isambard wanted them but the town is quickly losing it's sense of pride and heritage which is a shame
Thanks for the Marlborough cafe recommendation.I rode there today on the Honda 500 cbx after doing a few great roads in the area, particularly the B road which picks up Hackpen Hill and the lanes over Pewsey Downs.Lovey coffee and food.Great vid! Ride safe.Richard Bristol
i love bicycle touring, its the best way to wild camp, and by the way, there is a you tuber known as the secret vault who lives and films a lot in that area.
That was awesome sandy, really enjoyed that vid 😊 and a guest appearance by funky prepper out of nowhere 😂 what more could you want ? Ticks all our boxes 😉😳😂👍♥️
Those were all very nice spots. I tried all types of glasses before I started wearing a full face helmet on the motorcycle. Goggles worked best and never came loose or off. I didn't care if my friends made a little fun since they would look like they got hit with pepper spray by the end of a long day and I didn't . That last cafe stop looked like a slice of heaven.
Good to see you using your Romany. I like all your content Sandy, but like your cycling and camping videos the most. I love motorcycles too everything two wheels, but if I could only keep one of them it would be my bicycle, but which one! It would be like choosing which of your children to give up. I think it would be my Brompton. Simply the best machine I have ever bought. ATB.Already looking forward to your next video.
What a beautiful county Wiltshire is. I really enjoyed the video Sandy, thank you. The description of Swindon made me laugh, have to say that having been there many times I agree with you 🤣🤣
While I am hardly a fan of suburban, let alone urban environments, I do and have always enjoyed pastoral scenes. Enjoyed this video and gave it a thumb's up Sandy. Steer clear of the cars as much as possible; cheers!
I went to Swindon once, it was closed. I bet it was a chilly start, this time of year can produce anything, mostly bone chilling cold... 'Act old later' haha...or not at all!!!
It was cold Bry, even though Old Solar face was shining, but I have good news, March is here and it's the month that starts with a Winters sting in it's tail, by the end of the month Spring will be in full swing. Mark my words....Snow next week, enjoy it and rejoice for the season is on the change and good old Sol is growing stronger by the day:)
Hi Ho ! Sandy! great adventure, and once again. you take me thru or near namesake towns and villages to here. I"m only 18 miles from Shaftsbury vt here. and I have an Aunt that lives in Salisbury Ma on the atlantic, and Avon Ct is not far from here. Once again all familiar names to me. guess that's why we call it "New England" huh!. seems like all of your neighbors of old came here and started all these name sakes good show!. still waiting for our CW Qso! but I"m a patient Man but keep in mind pushing 80! (next Month) so for me time is of the day and even the hour. tnx agn Sandy and God speed. de Ellis WA1RKS
Poor old swindon, it had some lovely buildings in the past but they knocked them all down, now it's becoming a ghost town with closed shops every where
A pleasurable tour Sandy and Co, recognised and been to a lot of area's, Hungerford Castle has a daunting history behind it, Clay Hill back in the 80's was the best spot in the country for the sighting of UFO's, apparently, Salisbury Cathedral was built using the stone from the Cathedral William the Conqueror had built at Old Sarum, he moved down to where Salisbury now is, his Castle and Cathedral remains are still there on Old Sarum Hill Fort, he paid his generals there for invading us in 1066. Enjoyable video mate, all the best to you and Mandy.
Great stuff Sandy, I want to do the Wiltshire cycleway at some point as it passes not far from where I live in Bristol, my friend did it all in one go a couple of years back but I think I'd rather make a long weekend of it!
Love my Ionosphere, I bought mine about a year ago and I've used it quite a bit. The worse weather I tried it in was late November in a yellow warning storm with wind 50+, it was rock solid and totally dry, great tent.
Bike ride, wild camp and cake, what's not to like! I've just stumbled across your channel and have subscribed. Thanks for sharing your trip and I love the glasses. A good friend said when he first saw me wearing mine, ' I like those, they make you look very intelligent! We're still friends 😁
Hell of a distance to cycle Sandy at any age, but at 60, well done young man 👏👏
Your cycling videos are an absolute joy to watch Sandy, only problem is they never seem long even😁 thanks for taking us along.
Thanks Susan glad you are enjoying the cycling videos, I shall be doing more as the year unfolds
Brilliant
I can now cycle 100 miles in a day if I have too but I'd rather not have too:)
Great video, and I loved the little musical interludes.
Sandy, as always it’s such a pleasure following you on your adventures.
You do live in a splendid area sandy 👌 All those lovely cottages and beautiful countryside 👏👏👏🇬🇧 My wife had a good chuckle , when you commented its better to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission 👌👍
I think we should all push the boundries a bit now Martin!
@Wiltshire Man push the boundaries ( push the button ) have you seen my latest post on insta Sandy ( sugar babes push the button , 61 and counting down 🤷♂️🙈👍
Thanks both, we enjoyed that immensely. J&A&B&T
It's always good to have good friends!
Tony's Alright :) He makes good desicions...most of the time:)
Great to see you finish your vlog in Marlborough. I was born 68 years ago in the cottage hospital at the top of the hill. Thanks Phil :)
That was lovely to see all those villages again, thanks guys.
A nice trip with your friend Sandy…. As you say it will be great when the warmer weather comes along ☀️
Great video! I had my hip replacement 7 weeks ago and I’m back cycling and lifting weights in gym. Going on a canoe trip in Easter holidays. If your hip is bad, get it done it’s brilliant. Great inspirational stuff from you, Sandy 👍
I've got a dodgy hip Dave, but fortunately cycling doesn't cause me any problems
Great effort, Sandy. Hope the goggles did the trick. I think you carried them off pretty well. All the best.
It’s so heart warming to see you with your vintage bike, brings back childhood memories (57 years young), none of this UA-cam/influencer electric bike freebies working on the wrecked health of a generation of Congo child lithium miners!
Loved it Sandy, just loved it.......

A Wonderful choice of music
Too bad that monk didn't have a para -motor Sandy. I admire you for making a trip like that. Love the villages and the buildings.
In 20 years or so when I approach your age, I plan on keeping strong through biking like you. Very inspiring! Biking kept me healthy in my youth and to this day and it will when I retire some day as well!! One of my favorite things, clears the mind as well.
You won't go wrong if you regularly cycle, it will keep your body and mind working
cracking video , most enjoyable, many thanks for sharing 👍👍👌👌
Thanks for posting Sandy, many places I knew in my youth that you went through.
Thanks Sandy. Another great trip. And so nice to see the snowdrops in flower. Living here in Spain, we never see them. Cactus flowers instead😊
Your videos inspired me to bring my wife to Swindon for a few day's holiday. We accessed the downs to the South, the hills to north and went north west . It was a really nice part of the UK to take time out. Thank you Sandy.
Really enjoyable video, nice and chilled.
"Once youve visited Swindon anywhere else will be lovely" Cracked me up did that Sandy.
Haaha, sad but true, it doesn't have much of a soul these days
Lovely video sandy much appreciated thanks for all your efforts putting it together .

Thanks Terry, the old bike did very well and I reckon it is good for many more adventures in the future
Huge respect Sandy

I know the pain of wisdom tooth extraction and also dry socket. You have my sympathy Andy

Thanks so much for taking this trip on with your friend in midwinter - great to watch as always! 👍😃
Careful Sandy, you are really whetting my appetite for cycling again - you could be the death of me 😂😂😂
Happy Days Brother 👍 🍻 🍻 🍻
Haaha, go for it, just keep breathing and don't overdo things
Brilliant video Sandy. I really enjoyed seeing your tour. There are some lovely villages around there. You must be fit as a fiddle covering that distance, very impressive. Thanks for the film.
Wonderful trip, I have a love of old bridges, and those old stone bridges are wonderful, imagine the stories they could tell.
Brilliant well done Sandy and ya pal 👍🏻👍🏻🚴🚴
Bloody hell it looks nice Daz and they were very accommodating at the cafe.
👍
I admire your stamina Sandy. 🥸
I like the goggles! Interesting journey.
Wow Sandy, the way you described Swindon at the beginning of the video it sounded like you were talking about Detroit, MI, or innumerable other urban places here in our dear USA. Yet, what I viewed seemed quite clean and civilized!
Nice spin that Wiltshire is a beautiful County. Salisbury Cathedral is spectacular, tallest spire in the country.
What a great trip.
Thank you for sharing the wonderful sights and scenery.
Wonderful vid. A lovely tour around a lovely county. We are so lucky to have it on our doorstep. I know it hasn’t got the mountains or the coast but it has got plenty to keep
me happy. I shall now seek out Crumbz cafe. Thanks
There's still a fair bit of hill climbing to be had in the south of the county Steve
Another great video sandy , would have loved to see more though, i think you could have easily done 4 videos on that route and uploaded them individually at @30 min each. Keep up the good work
Awsome Vid Sandy. Thank you again for sharing.

That was a happy coincidence I reckon:)
I really enjoyed this
Thanks for another great video Sandy! They are always brilliant!
Thanks for watching Allen
Sandy i actually like the goggles. They look fine and if they function to help your eye id say happy days. Ive seen plenty of cyclists wearing similar
Ahhh that was really lovely, thank you for taking us on your journey. Salisbury Cathedral old religion and new. I know which I prefer, Christianity.
You will love this YT video Anne ua-cam.com/video/64K7HmLM54Y/v-deo.html
As a heritage Steam train enthusiast here in Australia, I think we’ve all heard of Swindon and it’s famous railway workshops of days gone by.
Hi Peter,
Yes Swindon was once a very proud town with heavy industry, many famous heavy loco's were built here and the "Sheds" are still here too right where Isambard wanted them but the town is quickly losing it's sense of pride and heritage which is a shame
Very nice spring trip! I feel like going somewhere! Greetings from the Czech Republic!

Lovely - I recognised several areas. Great videography, nicely edited 👍

Fair play to you Sandy . You keep doing them things i can't ! ✊

Hi Will the further away from the beaten track and the hustle of modern life the better:)
Lovely tour and a great video! I enjoyed watching, why is it when we're younger we all rush about, looking back it seems foolish. 🙂👍
Good effort old bean, some beautiful countryside and buildings. Just need the leather flying helmet to finish the look.
It was a great ride Si, you would love it :)
Always a pleasure to tag along with you on your adventures, Sandy. And that Funky can pop up anywhere, at any time😂

Poor old swindon, it had some lovely buildings in the past but they knocked them all down, now it's becoming a ghost town with closed shops every where
Looks like a great time with Tony on the Wiltshire cafe circuit.
Thats about right Bill :)

Great views of Wiltshire and great viewing as usual Sandy.

There is always that one constant with your travel videos Sandy and that's cake. 😀
Haa thats true Simon, the good thing with cycling is you burn calories and that means I can eat more cake:)
I really like those goggles Sandy. Wouldn't mind some like that. Nice video thank you.
Thanks Graeme they saved my eye thats for sure
Love my Ionosphere, I bought mine about a year ago and I've used it quite a bit. The worse weather I tried it in was late November in a yellow warning storm with wind 50+, it was rock solid and totally dry, great tent.
I think I shall use this tent quite a bit during the spring summer and autumn too
Very much enjoyed the video, looked like a very interesting route. I'll be sure to visit Krumbz next time I'm in Marlborough too.
Really enjoyed this. 180 miles is not to be sniffed at!! Keep up the great videos of your journeys, they are brilliant.
Thank you again for these trips, Sandy. 😀🙂👍
Thanks Brian
A lovely route down the back lanes with some nice villages and good views.(Gordon Dragon).
Thanks Gordon have you got the old BSA fixed yet?
Not yet waiting for my new workshop bike lift table. Thank you for asking.
Good trip Sandy perhaps we’ll do the Shaftbury leg on the motorbikes on a warmer day!
I'm up for that, infact we could ride the whole route in one day
Bike ride, wild camp and cake, what's not to like!
I've just stumbled across your channel and have subscribed.
Thanks for sharing your trip and I love the glasses.
A good friend said when he first saw me wearing mine, ' I like those, they make you look very intelligent! We're still friends 😁
Thanks Colin, I am very happy with the googles, now I can cycle in relative comfort:) Thanks for subscribing
Great video as always! Really enjoy seeing this scenery; it’s like seeing living history in real time; very much enjoy it!
Yes it is like living history your right
the small tin roofed building where you rested I bet back in the day there were many a cub/scout meeting and First Aid courses held in there
Yes I reckon that building would have been put to many good uses over the years
Cheers for letting us tag along bro the scenery was lovely. Safe travels
Thanks for taking us along. Such a delightful and historic county.
Very inspiring Sandy!
Thanks John
Sandy you are a true gentleman.. love to watch these videos mate.

Great vid again Sandy...Unfortunately Swindon is getting exactly as you describe!
Such a shame to see the town going down the pan...!
