Everyone gives their glam albums flack, but they are really underrated, P.I.T.J in particular. I bought a copy on ebay and as soon as i got it, i put it in my stereo and i played the fuck out of it. And in my opinion, there aint a bad song on the album at all.
If you were to tell me that this was an old Def Leppard demo from High N Dry/Pyromania era and I didn't know the difference, I'd believe you. Literally all I can picture listening to this is Steve Clark givin er shit on that Les Paul and Joe Elliott screaming his head off! Just mind blowing that this was Panteras early beginnings. In my opinion I'm glad that they switched over to a heavier style just for the simple fact that once 1990 was around, hair metal was dead as fuck and these guys literally did a 360 and basically made their own genre. Such a unique band that i have so much respect for in BOTH eras
well that's Funny I Looked years ago & just now they are not around much, Cduniverse has the main releases & on Amazon they have the Lps going for 400 Dollars. all the Cds there are Used. so if they were it was probably with out Darrel or Vinnies consent.
It's like calling slipknot and kiss costume metal. Both are worlds apart in style/sound. Bands like cinderella, britney fox, poison etc are glam rockers by fashion but in my opinion nothing metal about them in sound/style.
Actually, this album (Projects in the Jungle) was released in July of 1984 and Dokken's debut album (Tooth and Nail) was released a couple of months later, in September of 1984. This was kind of THE sound for that time period and era...a lot of bands had a sound very similar to this (Ozzy, Ratt, Motley Crue, etc.)
@@UKSportsFan Actually, Dokken's debut album was Breaking the Chains, and it had two versions. The first one was European version released in 1981, and the second one was released in the US in 1983. Tooth and Nail is their second album.

Pantera was really good as a glam band.

Exactly! No matter what era, and even this early in his career, Dime's guitar playing is always a pleasure to listen too!!

2:32 young diamond Darrell killing it
In my opinion Is not glam at all, it's heavy metal for fans of Def Leppard, Accept, Scorpions, Dokken..
Dokken was basically glam ... def leppard basically by definition was too... lol

Numerous bio’s state that Dime and Vinnie grew up on Van Halen and KISS!!
Heavy Def Leppard influence too. Dime looked up to little ole Pete Willis.

“Like Fire” without “Blue Light Turnin’ Red?!” That’s like “You Really Got Me” without “Eruption!”

The first riff sounds like "Bark at the Moon" by Ozzy.
more like Cinderella song save me.
One might think that Cinderella's somebody save me song was stolen from Pantera, but this one was released first 😅
