An under-appreciated song in Pantera's catalog. A vast amount of people only care about Pantera from 1990-2000. This is such an amazing song! A 1980's metal gem.
I don't hear anything glam in this song, just pure heavy metal, and already with that groove which would become part of Pantera's trademark sound in the 90s!
Exactly! It's funny when people say they took that sound from Exhorder, this song was recorded before Exhorder was even a band. The grind of the guitar and drums were there and so was Dimes tone. This sound was always Pantera, pure and simple.
@@Skycladatdusk78 Ahah you can't imagine how much I hate when people say that! For me, the first typical Pantera song is Projects In The Jungle, with its groovy mid-tempo drum beat and killer riff, it was in 1984 so years before Exhorder came around, and I wish they had recorded it with Phil on vocals! Furthermore, I don't find Pantera that close to Exhorder, apart from the vocals (Phil Anselmo and Kyle Thomas were friends and had more or less the same musical background which explains their similar vocal style) the music was very different, Pantera was more heavy/groove and bluesy while Exhorder had a more brutal thrash/death sound, with some funk/soul influences coming from the band's love for Stevie Wonder and that kind of stuff.
It reminds me of some of Virgin Steele's stuff around the same time. Early power metal with a glam attitude. That and their look is why they were called glam.
@@mariaquiet6211 only by grunge morons of the 90's In Metal forces and Kerrang back in 1984 , 1986 , 1988 ... It was written nowhere they were glam. Just Heavy metal then Power metal They had pretty good buzz too . And then 80% of the bands looked like this
Glamtera is so awesome. When it comes to that whole glam stuff they are really the best! Motley Crue, Poison and all these posing bands got nothing on them. So ONWARD WE ROCK!!! Thanks Vinnie and Dimebag for these awesome Glamtera records
The first 4 albums aren’t being released anywhere anymore except bootlegs. Not sure why, I think they just didn’t like their older stuff, which sucks because it’s awesome.
All I can say is that they honestly where great for the time when crap like Robert palmer and motley Crue and Cinderella was around. Pantera in this time was better than that and ozzyz Jake e Lee year.

+Devin Palladino Absolutely!! I love all their Albums, from Metal Magic to Reinventing the Steel :)
Same here, all nine studio albums have something to offer. "I Am The Night" and "Power Metal" are actually my two favorite albums of theirs.
glam tera is under appreciated in general the side dosent get enough notice
some people only know about the pantera from CFH to reinventing the steel not a lot know about the glam era
I agree
Amazing Darrell really was the heart, soul, and balls of this band.
Yes Sir the foundation him and Vinnie an Rex
soul maybe, heart not so much,The drummer is the heart that beats in a band ;-)
PANTERA is the definition of
Heavy metal !
Dime and Vinnie played as one rhythmic unit. Their brotherhood. That is the heart of Pantera.
dimebag darrell was a master at his craft. not even eddie van halen really sounded like this.
RIP Vinnie Paul ...Onward You Rock!!! 🤘
I love PANTERA ' s early albums
It's like hidden treasure 4 me cause I didn't even know they existed!
Badass , PANTERA RULES !
Pantera were legends before they were even signed. I grew up with them down here in Arlington, TX. RIP Dimebag

They looked glam. Never played it though. Pure heavy USPM

I'm surprised how underrated this is, they were literally the best 80's metal band ever. People just don't know to much about it
This is far from the best 80s band ever. This is more like a 3/5 record at tops.
This would make a perfect Theme song for Tommy Vercetti from GTA : Vice City
Maybe in the new gta🤞
GTA VI?
@@sycofya1677 Fuck no, the new GTA is going to suck. All the creative people behind the good gta's (not 5 because it sucks too) left.
one of my favorite dime solos. so much feeling
Same, even if I like the later era too, this very solo is still fuckin awesome

PANTERA'S early stuff is like

This album continues to amaze me. It has the exact style I like. So badass 🤘🏻
And they did, straight to the top.
I actually favor the early Pantera records to their later stuff
This is the only version of Pantera I can get into.
Same! Glaze-Era kicks ass, Phil-Era I can’t get into though
Lack of balls
Me too
Such a bizarre opinion to me
2:18 this part is so Badass

does anybody have a tab for this song?? I really want to learn it but I can't find any tabs online :(
where can we buy this albums and or songs?
Ebay
This Vince and Darrell jam became Yesterday Don’t mean Shit.
How so? I'm curious.
@@kartikchandrasekhar2762 Just listen to the drum beats on each back to back.
I think you’ll hear it.
I'd submit that Death Trap was more the skeleton riff formula for YDMS - but either way, you can see how the riff style evolved.
I can see that, but the kick drum patterns are exact.
Anybody know why this album was never released on iTunes?

When Phil joined the band, that’s when Pantera became great. Not talking negative, they were good but not great.

Terry was this band.. Became shit after he was gone..
Pantera in the 80s: Consistently. _WRETCHED._ Album. Art.
And Glaze's lyrics were just as cringe-tastic.
Awesome song I just don't like the big OI!!!! like unnecessary
