Fair play, i once sold a rare bike to a dealer for his personal collection, that i discovered someone had welded the front sprocket onto the final drive shaft. I lost no sleep 😂 The bike was polished up, put in a heated garage and not turned a wheel since.
for a second there I though you're going to say you regret getting a 1050 :) I was also chasing the black with gold rims but didn't happen. I ended up getting the standard dark blue/black combo and I actually love it now. My dealer was funny, they actually tried to convince me to sell the 650 myself, to get a better price but yeah, I was willing to loose some money to avoid the hassle of selling/registering it. Registration took about a week, they even told me the day they are going to the registration office.
I think I actually got rid of mine at about the right time. The slightly pimped 24 plate 650 had just landed and the pimped 1050 had just just landed too so my 650 was only ever going to get less value and my 1050 was going to look less inviting too. 🤷♂️But If you're looking to safely store money you don't do it by buying bikes thats for sure. 😂
It seems that taking a hit is part of the whole thing eh. Even if we bought a new bike and shrink wrapped it and stored it away we'd still get ripped off! "sorry mate, there's no service history" 🤣
That sounds brilliant. When i traded in my versys 650 i had the dealers tell me "We can only do it for £900", then they sold me a bike with dodgy rear suspension, this rear suspension was under warranty so i took it in and they kept refusing to do it until the warranty ran out, by which point bike shop i go to normally had solved the issue by talking them into fixing it. Few days later i had a phone call "We owe you money", never saw that money though, apparently they owe me £135 and I'll probably never see it because I'm never going back to the dealership i went to after how they treat customers. Not saying which dealership as dont want them to lose customers. But nice hearing that it works the other way around some times.
@@GermanJobbies i think best way to do it is to see the dealers as people who dont care and garages as people who do care because they also ride motorcycles.
You bastard!! 😂😂😂 Good one 😂😂😂 when you trade in a bike here the registration is transferred straight away, when I traded in my MT07 & Strom it was all done and dusted in 30 minutes and I rode off on the new V-Strom
😂😂😂As you say Dunc, it's nice when the boots on the other for foot a change. I was just lucky the Kwak dealership had a GS come in, cos they were way above what everyone else was offering for the Versys.
Sometimes we have some strange feelings and thoughts, but finally it comes that we made a great decision and I feel that you made one too. Nice video bro. Enjoyed. Take care. Ride safe.
I always believe that things happen for a reason. It also has been said that the bike find you, not the other way around. I'm glad you feel you bought the rights bike. It certainly is a great looking bike.
You certainly had a lucky one there Dunc like you say it's not often you can pull one over on a dealer, though I do feel sorry for the salesman. Weeks to register a vehicle😟, whatever happened to " Vorsprung church Technik" 😂
They love their paperwork Michael 🤓But this is also why they have church records going back til 1470-1500! I think it's because there needs to be good brain jobs for this highly clever population.🤷♂️
First thought: he wants back a 650 😂. I'm fine with mine, but when coming close to the 60 I think I will get anything else. And dealers will make money, not all like living after sales. I also prefer buying something on stock. Seeing, liking, buying....... maybe test riding 😅...... no matter what will come. Greetings Dunc Appi
Well, I hope he wasn't let go for just one mistake, but he did not follow procedures a few times. If he did get fired for one transaction, I would be hesitant of doing business with them. I am all about learning mistakes helps people grow. But I am sure they can get a second hand unit and replace it. But even if this issue with a poor salesman, should not make you wait for registration that long. Here, they can do the registration at the dealershit, so buy today, pick up tomorrow!
Totally up to the dealer to spot these things. Well done you got a good deal then. Nice one.
I even told him that it had been in a crash but he never seemed to pick up on that either 😅
Maybe he was just to nice to be a dealer lol

I don't trust anyone who sells vehicles for a living. They're all at it.

🤷♂️😂It's one of the annoying things about here, you can't just buy a vehicle , swap paperwork and drive home with it. 21st century ffs! 🤷♂️

Sometimes we get a wee bit of luck eh Nige 😁Not often but nice when it happens.
Mind you mate your Verseys was almost mint.
