    I’m full Palauan but unfortunately I moved to America when I was really young and when I started speaking English I forgot how to speak it but can translate it pretty well. We need more Palauan youtubers out here man

    As a child I spoke Palauan fluently, I moved to the US in 2010 (10 years old) and over the years have slowly lost the language 💔 I wish there were more resources to learn Palauan again, especially because I have a one year old. I want to share our culture with him but resources for Palauan language and culture are so hard to find :(

      Don't give up. That's why we have our aunties to keep us in touch with our culture. I moved almost twenty years ago and the Belau love is still strong. Will be posting more vids on Palau soon. Thanks for the comment.

      That wouldn't be why the words are similar, the words are similar to due to shared ancient Austronesian heritage. Apparently Palau was only part of the Philippines "on paper" and that barley lasted a month..

    The population of Palau is approximately 19,000 of whom 70% are native Palauans, who are of mixed Melanesian, Micronesian, and Polynesian descent. Filipinos form the second largest ethnic group. Other Asians and Europeans account for the minority groups , In Spanish Times ,it was under the Colony of Spain ,and was ruled Directly from MANILA ,but Eccesiatically it was under the ARCHDIOCESE OF CEBU , here in the province of Tawi-tawi in Mindanao the name in Palau is the fishermen and that is the Badjao. Or Samal people

    Lived in Palau way back in the day and the only thing I remember is how to say “I love you”...just in case I met a cute Palauan girl and wanted to tell her how I felt! 😂🤣 I enjoyed your video and it brought back lots of good memories!

      Life With Brad I hope to head back there sometime in the future. Went to Mindzenty in the early nineties and I may head back for the 30 year reunion. Please help me out if you don’t mind; I’m going to write this completely wrong, but I love you, as taught to me was something like “achmil bedich adangook adangow”. I can say but I do not know how to spell it! And I’m trying to remember to the term for the old ladies. It was a loving term, but I can not remember it!

      I just found that out the other day! Apparently the Spaniards decided we were all one country. Which is funny, because when I tell Filipinos I'm Palauan, they usually say, "You're from Palawan?" Wonder if they got their names from each other :)

      What parts of the Middle East? In Palau it gets as high as 86 degrees Fahrenheit (30 degrees Celsius +-) so I don’t think it’s as hot as the Middle East that can go up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit

      It depends on the work that you do. Minimum wage is probably $3.50 USD. At least the last time I checked.

      As of November 1st, 2020 Palau is still not accepting tourists. They are working with Taiwan on getting group bookings into Palau soon. But as of today, no tourists are able to fly to Palau yet. Thank you

    Hi guys, thanks for teaching us some words of Palauan. I’m from West Papua-Indonesia, and I love Palauan language. Coz it sounds unique. I used to listen to Palauan songs since I was 4.. my father had been there, and there was a palauan gave him a cassette of palauan songs. So he brought it home and ever since i love to hear palauan songs and played it almost everyday.. i hope i can have friends from palau, and colud visit there someday... 💜

      If you are looking for a career or jobs in Palau, you are better off in Germany. If you are looking for a place to go on vacation, Palau would be a great place to go for a beautiful ocean scenery. Life in Palau is not stressful. People generally work Monday to Friday and have the weekends off. Unless if your working in retail or the tourist industry, you can work a whole week. But then, that's up to you.       I am Palauan. And the beaches there are beautiful. You don't want to go there for the beaches. You want to go there to experience an underwater alien planet where you can swim with different animals including Jellyfishes. And bring someone you can share the experience with.

      A lot of Pacific Islanders eat similar food like taro, tapioca and fish. And a lot of them cook with coconut oil. So there are some similarities. There is one thing for sure, a lot of spam and corned beef are consumed all over the pacific.

      Palau is its own country. Palau used to be under "Japanese rule" before World War 2. The United States is more of a stewardship or big brother role. Thanks for the comment
