    Gratitude & Acknowledgement:
Thank you to all the Palauans who took part in this video sharing their culture to simply helping me learn. This is what cultural immersion is all about and grateful to all of you.
    Why "Living Like A.."?:
Living Like A Palauan was an idea I had prior to Palau had I immersed myself deeply and naturally into the culture. And because I did, that idea quickly took off with the video project underway Mid November until this week.
But Living Like A.. didnt begin in Palau, it actually began 5 years ago in the Kingdom Of Tonga🇹🇴, where I was so blessed to be able to stay in a village on the island group of Vava'u.
Little did I know, my curiosity of the ways Tongans live their lives allowed me to, in the short time that i stayed, LIVE LIKE A TONGAN.
Living Like A Tongan was my very first true culturally immersive experience in my travels and to this day is very special to me, as well as the thousands of Tongans that watch it. It opened the door to a whole new inner passion of mine and that was learning about world cultures. 🥰
Living Like a Tongan happened to be one of my biggest UA-cam videos and has beautifully brought so many proud Tongans to my video and to my channel, thanking me for loving their culture and taking the time to show the Tongan way.
Living Like A Palaun is very much all of this with the same heart, love, and passion for culture. The only difference now, my camera gear is far better and my storytelling and post editing skills are through the roof.
Which means, the ability to extend the voices of Palau and represent a whole culture is far greater. 🇵🇼

The ending when you said “life couldn’t get any more simpler than this” and she said “welcome to palau” is a good example of how laid back our people are and easy to get along with in such short amount of time. It might be because alike Chamorro, it’s closely connected to its source of an austronesian language, unlike lets say chuukese which has evolved into a sublanguage within itself. Interesting stuff right? 🤓

Even though it was short and surface level, you did show it as a “Palauan” would. Simple is our island life. I miss it. 30 Know that when you are born, all family and relatives’ blessings and curses from Adam down hang above you. But when you reach the age of consciousness, not the sorcerers but your first actions determine your choice. And the solution is to return first to God through his prophet according to 2 Chronicles 20:20. Seek Salvation first. And Salvation is only through the living prophet of your time. Not an angel, not a book called Bible or Quran. Not a prophet called Moses, Jesus of Nazareth or Mahomet. But the words of a living man amongst you. And you, whatever difficulties and sufferings that you are going through, first, know that the person to blame for all this is yourself. And in search for a solution, you shall not go to just any prophet and not just anyone should lay his hands on you. You shall never trade your Salvation for an ephemeral relief from Satan in a Catholic, Protestant, evangelical or Branhamist church. In Genesis 50, Joseph asked that his bones should go up from Egypt with Prophet Moses. And you, if you are a chosen one, you must not die before you accept Kacou Philippe, the living prophet of your time.

Wow, the traditional house of Palau looks very similar to the Batak house in around the Lake Toba, North Sumatra, Indonesia. According to the latest research, the Batak arrived and lived around this Lake Toba from 2500-5000 years ago (originally they came from the South China but passing the Philippines before moving down to Sumatra). Maybe some cultural relationship does Palau have with this tribe as they split in the Philippines? The word "A" or "Ak" is similar to "Aku" or "Ahu" (I or I am) in both Batak and Indonesian, "kau" is precisely the same with "kau" (you) in Indonesian language and "sulang" is similar to "sulang" in Batak language which connotes "thank you".

Being a Palauan serving the United States I have to put the country I serve first but I choose to put my motherland first in my heart because of my beautiful culture and country who made me the strong spirited and disciplined person I am today, with the values I learned and have being raised arround my culture. Respect, Integrity, Resilience, Preserverance, and Humility. My upbringing in my home country have helped me exceed in anything I do and in the field I am in and you reminded me of where I am from once again.
