Well that concludes our first Mystery Quest! I hope it was not too spooky. Members is now live! Right now you can go and see a post game chat where we talk about the adventure and I answer the players questions
Thank you for getting Simon on this one! I know mystery is in the name but I would love to see some more 'yogsquest' style adventures too if possible. After Hat Films pirate one I went back and rewatched all the old yogsquests again and realised I need more! Lastly, while Tom doesn't always paint the most vivid picture of detail he does keep hidden secrets really well for the reveal and that's not easy, loving it so far!
I love how 80% of the adventure was this lot bumbling around the hotel doing random rubbish that had nothing to do with anything lovecraftian and when they got to the lovecraftian stuff, they just went along with it. They spent more time fighting their fellow humans than they did the forces of darkness.
That really is one of the things that's so great about it. I think some of the best cosmic horror stories are the ones where the supernatural stays unknown and unknowable, and our human capabilities can only perceive is the havoc it wreaks on the small slice of reality we have access to. The disintegrator is like the mythical Apple of Discord. Put it between a bunch of people, and watch them tear themselves apart to get it.
That's like every GM's problem lol you have this plan to play an actual campaign and then faff half the night away setting up characters and then doing everything except the story
My favourite part of this trilogy was absolutely the fact that Mr Brown or whatever his name was got poisoned to death, his room got broken into with obvious forced entry, his briefcase was stolen and thrown off the balcony, and despite all of this, nobody ever figured out what happened. The briefcase wasn’t found, and the dead body was just sat in a chair all day. Presumably all the evidence was wiped out in the explosion at the end lol.
I think I'll like it when I'm watching episodes weekly - currently I find it breaks the flow for me when I'm bingeing 3 hours of Tom and his friends playing with their CoC
@@GreenEyedDazzler it depends how you're taking in the media, but it's 100% better to have and not need. If you only have time to watch one and then 4 days later you watch the next then you probably need a recap. Just for these opening ones, when they dumped a whole load straight on us and I ate that shit up like a henry hoover, I found it inconvenient but I already can't remember exactly where they left off the first episode of Mörk Bork
A thrilling conclusion to a Pulp Cthulhu Classic. Glad Mr. Sleep got to play a good role. He's my favorite NPC in this scenario. He's a great homage to Richard O'Brien's character from Dark City. Also the scene with "Gabe" was genuinely unsettling. Love the series, and loving the channel.
literally how many times has anyone in this campaign rolled lower than 60? every single roll its like "im gonna look into this suspicious thing, 75, no i dont!"
For the first adventure, you went through a bit of the stuff they missed, and the other routes they could have taken. Would you consider doing similar roundups at the end of these, or alternatively have roundups as a members only video maybe?
I loved this, hope to see more of Maggie, Perry, Archie and Otto. A wonderful job by Tom too of course, especially with "Gabe" and Mr Sleep. And of course excellent work by the editors with the sound effects at times.
Considering it was called CoC, I didn't actually expect any Eldrich stuff until it happened. I thought it was just going to be a bunch of gentlemen(and woman) bumbling around at an auction. I should have expected the Eldrich.
They open the bag, it is full of the very rarest funko pops, some with super rare misprints of rare production lines even. They cast them into the chasm.
Dammit man I need to know answers! WTF WAS THE BATmothMEN? TENTACLE MONSTER?? WHO IS MR.SLEEP? Damm this was good! I love the idea of these characters would carry over into other Call of Cthulhu adventures if that would be how it goes!
Having read the scenario before: The bat/moth/men were the ones extracting brains and using tentacles; they're a super scientific alien race called the Mi-go, who like to experiment on humans. Mr. Sleep is a shoggoth lord, a very small shapechanging subspecies of the shoggoths, gigantic formless monsters in the most remote regions of the earth. The Disintegrator is a primordial alien weapon used for genocide against the shoggoths and their creators. The shoggoths want it so that they can dispose of it. The Mi-go have detected the device and want to take it away for further study. Neither cares about humanity. The White Point Hotel is obliterated as a side-effect of the Mi-go giving up on their goal and blasting off back to their space station. Oops! Helping Mr. Sleep or helping the Mi-go are definitely the safer choices, but they also involve helping aliens who are happy to murder humans whenever convenient. The most "good" ending would be to fight off both alien parties and claim the Disintegrator for themselves, but that would be extremely dangerous and they could've been slaughtered in the attempt.
@@vesperhugothanks for the round up, helps to explain it! What I don’t understand is how they would’ve killed mr sleep, the disintegrater did nothing to him, and I doubt the guns would have helped much.
@@ozytheuzifeels like one of those choose your own adventure books where it's like "if you picked up the dagger that kills people who are immune to disintegration rays, turn to page 46"

That was soo good, loved Pyrion in this. I hope you get all sorts of people in on these, perhaps members of hatfilms and Lewis is always a fun addition to dnd type stuff.
I love this group so much. Their party play and dynamic is so damn good. TomB and pyrion riffing off eachothers humor is so fkn excellent. Such excellent videos. So happy to have these
I loved that amidst all the chaos and madness going on, pyrion stops the group and is like "right... wtf are we gonna do? We've got like 4 factions here and we need to pick a side, what we gonna do?" 😂 loved the sudden change in pace
Super fun! I do kind of like the recap of 'what could have happened' that was done in the other Call of Cthulu vid posted today. I know there's no point in winning/losing a tabletop but I'm might curious to hear about 'the other endings' but I suppose flipping through reddit will apeas me :P
aw damn i was hoping Tom would start explaining the story and more about what they didnt uncover after the end like he did with the lydia simon oneshot on his channel
Honestly, great cast of players, super fun to watch. Got super pulled into the story because of Tom's storytelling and the music and sound effects. Very spooky as well. Would love to see more!
Love the new lineup but would also love to see the sole survivor Sonny make a return appearance, maybe as a grizzled veteran of the occult, hardened criminal numbed by his experiences, or similarly entirely a madman Loving all the new rp stuff, the weekly uploads have me like a rat on the H button x
Hi Tom. My name is Juan, been a fan for a long time. Im currently homeless looking for work, and id love to try to be a member but i cant really afford it right now. Id still love to see the post-game chat and all that. I wish i had the money. Id sub to all the yogs, like i used to in better times. Love y'all, your voices make life worth living sometimes. Make me feel less alone. Im eternally grateful 🙏🏽
Awesome conclusion, great short-form campaign. Hopefully you might do a post-game video doing a roundup of the campaign and some alternative paths that could have been trod?
I can't believe my favorite yogcontent got its own channel, and started off with a banger like this one. I hope we can get some kind of info as to what happened to Sonny after his traumatic experience in a future CoC. Great job Tom and the rest of the group!
Always love it when Tom and the gang run Call of Cthulhu, I'm *so* glad we got a whole UA-cam channel for it! Looking forward to more CoC (not that one, get your head out of the gutter) and whatever else you got cooking.
never played a tabletop roleplay game like this, but I am LOVING the content on this channel. I am grasping the mechanics for the most part, but it would be helpful if there were a quick explanation at the beginning of the videos or maybe as a standalone upload for us noobs. Thanks!
Really happy to have this channel and loved this series can’t wait for more - one thing I’d be interested in, as an extra episode at the end of a series, would be a retrospective, like what the gang did good what they did wrong, opportunities missed, maybe some extra lore, would be fascinating to get a wider picture whilst our gang do all the weird pointless hilarious stuff we love Great content keep it up
This was such a great romp! Call of Cthulhu is always a great experience! And this group were absolutely phenomenal! Well done all! I would love to see some of the Tiny roleplaying games (Tiny Tavern & Beach Patrol being two of my personal faves!) And perhaps some Year Zero games like Mutant and the Alien RPG!
Loved it, thank you Tom and guests, that was a wonderful adventure I got to witness, you described it so well and creepily Tom, you are so skilled in storytelling I feel blessed for these videos ♥
loving the new content!! considering this is a long term thing, would you consider a dice cam and tray for tom so we as veiwers can see his rolls so he doesnt have to call out what should be hidden from players? obviously the players call theirs out but itd be cool if we could see the DM's rolls behind the screen
Absolutely delightful! Everyone was a blast. I'd love to play a game with Tom as a GM. Lydia remains the absolute best. Although Pyrion gave her a run for her money in this one.
I really don't usually watch any of this stuff. I haven't watched or listened to any dnd games or or anything close to it. I must say, this had me hooked though. I loved this crew, most of all Tom's narration and Pyrion's German act. As a German I must say well done. I'm certainly going to check out the latest one!

Lydia immediately jumping to the “just use the unspeakable device that defies our species understanding of existence to kill everyone” is so on brand
I love that Simon's instinct is to use the device to dig a hole!
He is the diggy hole man, after all.
He wanted to see if it would destroy the entire world
Lydia with the Lindt chocolate was an amazing moment. Good job and more of this please!!
