So happy to be back roleplaying with Tom, this session was so much fun to record and honestly had me spooked!
Loved to see you playing as the most illustrious Mrs. Biggins, Harry! I'm looking forward to seeing future episodes with you and everyone else!
Very glad they got u in for call of Cthulhu again
Happy to see you jumping into this session Barry!
It was great seeing the magnificent Barold Harold bringing a vibrant, youthful energy to the group as always
The hotly anticipated return of Harrold Barrold 🔥
I absolutely adore the lydia and simon duo of the con man and the rich widow. So great.
was just about to comment this! The Maggie and Perry combo has me coming back since their session on angory toms channel!
Maggie & Perry are back, my favorite dynamic duo 🥂🙌🏾
I love how Lydia roleplays. She's the perfect amount of chaos and incompetence, garnished with a perfect posh accent.
Having Simon and Lydia as consistent cast members really adds a nice air of consitency between the different adventures.
Yes, Simon needs to be on everygame. Hilarious
Some cthulhu with Tom is always a treat.
nice pfp
Love the stable addition of Lydia and Simon! What a hilarious trio!!
I love the return of Lydia and Simons characters from the previous Call of Cthulhu
Very glad to see the new tradition is Simon starting each game with a 99, just to add some chaos from the get go.
yeah these guys in general have the worst roll luck I think I have ever seen in these kinda games, no matter which story it is they get critical fails a lot more often than usual.
The only way it could possibly be worse is with a 100. Would be fun to see if any games start with that XD
I think Tom overestimates the size of Massachusetts. I like to imagine that Maggie was just taking them in circles in central Mass for like 2 hours.
Oh my actual Christ, I really really loved the medieval and gritty styled Mork Borg, followed by the exciting space horror of the last one. I was just thinking yesterday that what I would really love next was another call of cthulu one, or themed in that style! Exciting stuff.
I love Tom's intro's every time.
I’m a Japanese and I LOVE Cthulhu TRPG’s. But sadly I never seen other foreign peoples actually playing it. But your sessions and of course your videos is so fun to watch! That’s why I came to this video too, whiten was also amazing. It made me encourage to try to translate cenarios made in Japanese to English in order to play with my foreign pals. Thanks! And relating, I really enjoy your videos!
I have heard Call of Cthulhu is big in Japan. Are there any Japanese scenarios you would recommend?
@@Mystery_Quest
Thank you for replying!
Hmm…..some of them are kind of like Japanese anime’s. So the taste might be different than those of English scenarios.(No joking, there are VARIOUS scenarios from going out to space to walking at a supermarket.)
And in Japan a lot of people and cenarios are usually played in the 6th edition rules.
But I will list up a few which I have played before that are less Japanese like and that mostly everyone can enjoy(Sadly, they all do not have a form in English but I believe that the auto translation systems like google will work fine in some)
••”To the mountains of madness” ••
presented by “SANCHI-CHOKUSOU-TAKU”
Playable to 3~4people
The Players will be mountaineers(or have a reason to climb a specific mountain that comes up in the scenario) and each will be given a specific handout in order to make their PCs.
The scenario was made based on one of H.P Lovecrafts stories called “At the mountain of Madness “
It’s a pretty big title in Japans CoC, and an animation project is on going. You can find an homepage of the film which actually corresponds to English.
Compared to many other scenarios this scenario is kind of like a game like. So it’s relatively easier for beginners to play as well.
As I was writing this,I found some fellow that actually translated the scenario! So I might recommend to look for it which I just lost the page(lo)
I will add other scenarios that I can recommend under this comment which will take me sometime since I’m still not steady with my English. But I believe that this scenario is one of the easiest you can find information of.
I don’t no why but my reply just disappeared so I will write it again
@@Mystery_Quest
Thank you for your reply!
Hmm….well some Japanese scenarios are a little like Japanese anime and comics, so the taste might be a little different than English scenarios. And there are many I mean MANY various scenario’s such as from going to mars to walking at the Supermarket. In addition,
Many Japanese play scenarios in the 6th edition rules.
But I will introduce some of the scenarios that I have played before that aren’t not so Japanese like, and that I believe that many people can enjoy.
I’m going to list under this comment separately since the one I wrote earlier somehow disappeared. And it will take some time since I have work today(😢
・"TO THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS" presented by "SANCHI-CHOKUSOU-TAKU"
Recently making an updated form applying the seventh edtion rulees, this scenario is very famous among the Japanese CoCs. An animation program is even on going which you can find a homepage regarding the piolt film(The page is English applied! And I strongly reccomend to see it)
Playable to 3~4people.Players characters will be mounataineers(or have a reason or job to climb a specific mounatin range presented in the scenario) They will each be given individual handouts in order to create their characters.
It is pretty friendly for begginers as well.
Sad fact that it doen't have a English version, I sometimes see some fellows actually transalating the scenario into English by themselves, so checking those guys might be good.
That was the smoothest, most pleasant Call of Cthulhu session I have ever seen. I can’t wait for everything to go tits up because it’s bound to be a doosey!
I wouldn't call it smooth or pleasant tbh, they just had a bunch of very awkward small talk with a total stranger after inviting themselves into his home. If anything, it made my social anxiety flare up occasionally.
Oh my god, Harry has joined the rotation, excellent! I am so looking forward to listening to this on the way to work on Monday morning!
This is easily my favourite yogscast content. All of their role playing games have been and now we have a channel only for that? Perfection.
I sit down at my computer, wanting something to do before heading off to work. I open up UA-cam and on my home page I see a couple videos. A new Yogs TTT, a Dune lore video and, wait, what is that? It can't be... an hour of amazing Call of Cthulhu content, the 0 degrees crew + Simon, the highlight of the day, or could it be... A new episode of Mystery Quest!
NICE! I can even picture reading this in Toms voice.
For some reason this adventure is giving me weird fae vibes, a mansion hidden in the woods with fake drinks and painted over statues. Reminds me about that story of the Fae castle in the woods that was merely an illusion over a filthy cave, which is probably a bad sign given that that story ends with the main character getting her eye gouged out with a stick
Either that or they are going to end up in a witches oven
its definitely a secret Amway coven, preparing for a sacrifice to the great Mammon for luck in future business endeavours.
or upper class indoor dogging.
choose your own adventure.
Finally Harry can live his dreams of marrying Ravs through this game
DUI Lydia is back on the case! It’s be hilarious is Lydia kept this up for her future characters ad infinitum, just ALL her characters receive +2 piloting/driving per shot of alcohol.
Drinking and driving is bad, I've had family die because of it
@@KonaSuba You know this is a comedy podcast, right?
@@cynicat74 i don't think drinking and driving is funny
@@KonaSuba That's a personal opinion. Stop trying to force your boundaries onto other people.
Would love to see Sips on Mystery Quest, even if that’s a pipe dream!
My favorite channel currently on youtube
It sounds so damn cliche to say but this has really become my favourite channel! Tom and the ensambles he's managed to get together have been genuinly amazing!
I'd love to see the gang play delta green at some point so we can see the yog's xfiles impressions.
Simon and The 0 Degrees podcast is definitely solid crew
Characters a bit repetitive at this point that's in line w yogs brand can't hate
The chilluminati x zero degrees collab we never thought would happen
I've decided to try plan my own Christmas themed Call of Cthulhu one-shot game for my friends - in this style. But not only have I never GM'd before, I've only ever seen CoC played once (on this channel), so I don't know how its supposed to work outside of that one mystery you ran.
I'm very glad you're doing CoC again so I can understand the framework and cliches of an adventure better!
Thank you Tom! All the best to you!
That Tom used the introduction from The Colour Out of Space was an amazing reference, by an even more amazing Keeper :)
Is Tom the secret beneficiary of the artfully named Clarkenstein Manor? Or are you on a Mystery Quest!
More Cthulu? yes please!
I hope this channel grows. I love the content.
Best channel around atm, this and games night are my absolute faves
Nothing gets me in the spooky mood like baby doll and big Willie
No flippin way Simon's first roll was, AGAIN, a 99! That's hilarious!
Excellent episode -- sucker for a story about creepy rich folks and dark magic rituals... look forward to seeing where it leads.
Love Ravs' very pleasant and wholesome mechanic and Harry's outwardly nice but actually quite catty character!! Good complements to Perry and Maggie.
Now I imagine Simon´s character as Splinter in suit.
I always see him as David Niven, or Terry-Thomas, posh but absolute cads.
Perfect time to unwind for another great mystery quest!!
Always love myself some Call of Cthulhu, Maggie is always such a hilarious character, can't wait to see how this one ends.
I love Cthulu. I love it with all these lovely people
Okay, but now Lydia and Simon can never leave this channel, because I am just adoring their continued presence.
Had another video lined up, but then I saw that Barry was back in Call of Cthuhlu and DROPPED EVERYTHING
Lydia's character is so funny
"...then maybe it's time to go to bed..."
*Checks time* 4:30am
Maybe it's a sign... or maybe I should just keep watching!
"They invented the cigarette case" damn that's hilarious 😂
So glad to see the return of Maggie and Perry. Hope Maggie doesn't get bored!
Always enjoy you running Call of Cthulhu Tom! You got me back into DM'ing and now my crew runs sessions, I've started with the same scenarios you've done in previous games and love getting a look at them all. You should definitely look at running None More Black from Doors to Darkness!
I was rewatching the old call of Cthulhu before this channel launched… now we have two new adventures. Truly a great time to be alive guys.
It's weird how all of Lydia's characters drive better after having a few lol.
Top tier as always. Everyone in the cast works together so well, can’t wait to see where this adventure goes
the sound production in these is so good!
So happy they brought back the older characters
I really enjoy your Call of Cthulhu seassions. The subtle background sounds really enhances the experience. The sound quality is really good too. Please keep making more!
Tom i sincerely enjoy this channel and cant wait for new episodes every week. thank you guys for the great content.
I have a suggestion on some slight longterm play. Just bring Lydia and Simon in as Maggie and Perry with a rotating cast of other yogs. Would be a great way of getting the yogs with little to no experience in TTRPG in for a session, see how they like it/ adjust.
Love the Vibe of the Mystery quest sessions I've watched soo far just genuine fun, laid back and not overproduced. Really captures the Tabletop feeling I like, great work Mystery Quest crew!
You know, I was just thinking yesterday that I'd love it if they played this scenario. Seems that my hope has been rewarded!
Love the characters. Interactions are great! Love this so much, am excited for more!!
tom im a big fan of the way your doing this new channel, the vids are always entertaining
knowing what happens in this scenario, I am very much looking forward to this!
the rolls royce company would come out and fix that car in a heartbeat they dont want anyone to see one of their cars broken down.
Man this channel is great to be able to put out content like this must take so much effort these should be getting way more views
I love having a weekly dose of simon
Ah yes, the rolling hills and deep valleys of *checks notes* Massachusetts 😂
My favorite series by far on UA-cam let’s go can’t wait for the next ones
Come rain or snow or holidays, i will not miss a single one of these gems.
The team are so on edge with the slightest thing, it's so fun to watch. I can't wait to see how this unfolds
The intros are great!
Harry went from stealing from old ladies posing as a knife salesman, to being the old lady being stolen from by a guy posing as a knife salesman. 🤣
Love some Cthulhu with Tom and the gang! Most excited!
Subscribed. The olde CoC is some of my all time favourite RPG liveplay. Best wishes for the new channel!
i hope this channel has a very long life
Ravs coming as Martha Wayne
Always happy to see more Call of Cthulhu
These guys are so good, the rpg is just amazing.
the original CoC yogsquest is what got me to actually start playing RPGs rather than just think they were a neat idea when i passed the books in the store. i love these videos
I LOVE Lydia's characters as their all just trying to get a drink while she stumbles around
One of my favorite channels now
Ohhh it's going to be so agonizing waiting for the next episode! Already the mystery begins with small things being strange. :D So fun!
Love that we're getting some more Call of Cthulhu!
I feel like Nilesy,Rythian and Zylus would be great in these videos. Duncan too.
Sips and Pyrion aswell actually now i think about it
no thanks, Nilesy, Rythina and Zylus are D-Tier Yogscast and annoying, Ravs is hard enough to tolerate as is - good thing Simon, Lydia, Harry and Tom are there
Yay more cuthulu, have you considered Rogue Trader? It really allows you to explore the wacky side of 40k.
Awesome 😁 thanks for some more call of Cthulhu 👍
I have dreams about Simon's handwriting
Yes was hoping for another cthulu one or just spooky one in general ^^ atm just in a spooky mood
no questions favourite youtube content in YEARS keep it up tommy boy
Love the characters. Happy to be a patreon subber.
Favourite part of my week
Yes! nothing beats the call of Cthulhu campaigns. I liked the other ones but there’s just some kind of magic in these
easily my favorite channel
just realized Mrs. Miggins was the old lady the lads reverse-robbed as knife-salesmen in one of the Yogsquest episodes
I always forget that like half the yogs don’t have licenses until they say some weird shit like fuelometer 😂
As soon as I have the money I’m a member I love this type of content the yogs dnd stuff was always some of my favorite I love this cast and I love you tom thanks for making and heading the Channel I’ve always wanted
i already listened to this as podcast but i always stop by the video to leave a lil like
It’s great to see the Chilly Boys back together and I ❤️ Lyds and Ravs. Great combo, looking forward to move episodes of this crew 😊
I'm already addicted to this channel
So excited to see more call of cuthulu
Am I the only one who doesn't watch these on the day of release, because it makes the waiting for the next episode so long?
Really loving the content from all the yogs involved. Thank you for kidnapping my attention again.
Without fail, at some point Lydia makes me burst out laughing. This week it was "I don't understand; I poured all the petrol into the boot..."
Looking forward to listening to this on google podcasts whilst walking the dog. Thanks more great content!
I love this channel, toms done great
I love Tom I do
but, my bearded friend, the US highway system didn't exist until the 1950s!
