    I feel like a lot of us have missed skullcandy’s point in this line of speakers. It’s their first line so yes there’s going to be things to work out but they didn’t come out with the speakers trying to blow established people like Sony and JBL out of the water. These terrain speakers are half the price of the speakers they’re being compared to yes it’s no shocker they don’t sound as good but that’s not their goal. Their goal is to be the ones that bridge the gap of the speaker world. Nobody wants to have to drop $100-$200 on a Bluetooth speaker for the minimum of what’s considered good quality but we also don’t want that to mean we’ll have to settle with the $20 no-name speaker that can’t beat the speakers on an iPhone. Skullcandy is trying to produce quality in a cheaper package, you get what you pay for definitely but when you look into it they’re carrying a lot of the same features bigger companies offer. IMO the fact that skullcandy’s speakers are immediately compared to the best companies on the market at half their price is crazy. If skullcandy was selling the terrains at $130-$200 then there’d be a point of argument for who’s doing the job better but once again that’s not the kind of game skullcandy had in mind when they came out with the speakers. Just food for thought.

      Agreed. I think Skullcandys are plenty loud and bassy for the price point. JBL to me is like the gold standard and Skullcandy sets itself quite well as a good mid priced option

    The JBl Flip packs a punch for its small size.

    I have JBL charge 5. I am very happy with overall sound quality. But going to buy Flip 6 as well because that boy is easy to travel with.

      I'm thinking about buying a charge 5 to work at a summer camp.
      Will it be loud enough to hear from up to 20ft away?

      @@stellerate yes it’s impressively loud and portable as well. You can use it outdoors without any issue. I almost use it at 80% volume outdoors and it does its job pretty well. I would recommend you to visit store and check if it fits for your requirement. Otherwise step up JBL model for even more louder/bolder sound. 👍

    I have a bose soundlink flex and I won't be buying any Bluetooth speaker any time soon.
    Am planning keeping it for as long as possible.
    Nice video as always.

    If you want good looks and futures but skip out on sound Skullcandy. A Soundcore motion plus,boom Tribit Xsound mega,Flip 5,6 are all better options.

    The Kilo is blowing the Flip and Charge out of the water on audio quality, plus you're saving $100+. You're also putting the Skullcandy on the wrong side, that's why it sounds flat: you need to look at the picture of the product because it's standing upwards and not laying down like the JBLs.

    • @djijspeakerguy4628
      @djijspeakerguy4628 Рік тому

      Flat is not necessarily the correct term for that sound quality. In technical terms, the word flat means a speaker that sounds exactly like the recording, which is extremely hard (and expensive) to achieve. I would call the sound you’re hearing boxy.

      Also standing it up won’t make much of a difference in bass performance, it will just maybe change the treble dispersion slightly.
