Top drawer, good that you explain the down sides to real property development. The anxiety alone is no joke when your money is on the line and you get let down. I know a few developers who have turned petrol stations into residential property and the things they have had to endure are not funny. Planning permission can be a major stumbling block so I'm not surprised the previous owner tried to back out once he realised planning was granted - he saw the money that could be made. But was not willing to put his own time, money and energy into achieving that goal. So again well done bro, you're an inspiration to our community, keep up the good work and teach the youts!

That is brilliant. This is what needs to happen all over the country. Everywhere is full of old buildings like this and this might be the solution to the housing crisis in the uk……
There is 100% more on the way. What we have store in my humble opinion isn’t level that’s being produced currently on UA-cam. We’re putting quality first and showing you the real side to development.
This is a peak example of how you create a platform, and turn it into something good. This directly contributes back to the communities you're in. You can't do that with moldy cheese in a knock-off kids meal
I hope you are open to feedback. The information is amazing. You did a phenomenal job explaining quickly how you went from such a horrid property to where you currently are. The edits are distracting and not needed. I really enjoyed and subscribed. Thanks
As in how my own money was put together as well as the proposition to the bank? My own money came from profits for my Letting business and the bank is the bank. I will definitely go into this in more detail in future videos. Do subscribe!
Awesome vid and great project! An added value for that neighbourhood imo! How many design iteration did you have to go through to get planning permission? In Belgium it can be a nightmare and can easily take up to 3 years to get that, going back and forth for fire safety, water recovery, municipal planning, ... And then having to adress all the neighbors' objections. (to high, not enough parking on the street, not the "right area" for appartments, ... ) It helps to know the right gov't official who is responsable for the planning so that you can adjust the plans accordingly. Is that the case too in the UK?
Can someone explain to me: If the building was going to be demolished, is it less expensive buying a run down building than buying an equal plot of land?
It’s not easy to find land in dense areas that doesn’t have anything on it. Usually there’s an existing building or there was a building there that needs to go before you can put your new development on there
@@Anthony.Laville Oh, thanks for explaining… As someone with a relatively good knowledge of the market/industry… What are the some insightful tips, knowledge you can share/give to one who may be looking to get into it?
👏👏 *This is HUGE motivation man*‼️ I’ve always seen abandoned buildings like this and wanted to do this/something like this! Big ups & salutes to you‼️ 💪💯🫡 #goals #keepgoing
You can definitely do it. Reach out to the owner carry out an assessment and put in an offer…see where it takes you. It’s not easy and it will take some time, but it’ll be worth it in the end.
@@Anthony.Laville I’ve never been one to shy away from hard work.. and picturing the payoff is just rocket fuel to my ambitions!!! Big appreciation on the encouragement & knowledge fam!!!! 💯🙏🙌

Investing in alternate income streams should be the top priority for everyone right now. especially given the global economic crisis we are currently experiencing. stocks, gold, silver, and virtual currencies are still attractive investments at the moment.
Am looking for something to venture into on a short term basis, I really need to create an alternate source of income, what do you think I should be buying?
Good work, should of had a roof top outdoor space for the residents to enjoy views, fresh air etc and the amenities need a massive upgrade, a proper gym, a cinema room that actually has nice seating and importantly a very large tv/screen but not a bad project
Great to have your feedback. The building standard we went for is fitting for the target audience that we’ve gone for as we didn’t want to go super high-end. We wanted a strong medium proposition that was affordable for the future residents of the building. Do subscribe as you’ll see the standard of some of my other Projects which are at a higher level like you were talking about!
@@Anthony.Laville I would say a decent gym, tv/cinema room etc are pretty standard these days and the quality of student accommodation has really improved, i agree with keeping rents as low as possible but would it really cost much to have a usable roof top space? If I was a student again, it’s definitely something I would want if living in a tallish building… good work though Ant 👍🏼
Rooftop space requires more worrying about what students are doing on the roof without constant supervision and potentially insurance premium charges. For this particular building it wasn’t something we wanted to pursue although I agree it would’ve been great.
This is the type of development people like. Why build so many new houses over green spaces and farm land when we already have so many unused and abandoned buildings? Good job.
We had a legal binding agreement in place and so we threatened legal action… it went on for a couple of weeks but he conceded in the end… it looked shaky for a minute
Can you create a space for creatives such as music / theatre venue. Studios and a space for content creators? I know the scene for that is big in Birmingham
I know NOTHING about this process. But I remember during a discussion having the idea that buildings or homes that are in need of maintenance, repairs or remodeling are in a school district. Wouldn’t it be amazing if a skills training program be established to run in conjunction with such projects. Business programs discussing the economics and finance parts, the areas about the zoning regulations and how government is involved (the good and bad elements), the supplies needed and skilled laborers needed, engineering and for those interested even getting involved in the actual hands on part of the process. I can’t help but think such a long term, multi layered program could be the stepping stones to future generations of entrepreneurs and skilled laborers.
This is amazing to see, especially knowing how difficult it is to build anything in the UK. They really need to work on the insane amounts of red tape.
learnt a lot @anthony, and very motivating. I want to get into the property development business, I would love to get some advice from you, Thank you for being open and showing us this project. That is brilliant. This is what needs to happen all over the country. Everywhere is full of old buildings like this and this might be the solution to the housing crisis in the uk……
As a black man in Birmingham in early 30s, this is very inspirational! Keep the content coming! Subscribed!
Love this content hope theres more on the way, i would love to see more details and how you got started etc
There is 100% more on the way.
What we have store in my humble opinion isn’t level that’s being produced currently on UA-cam. We’re putting quality first and showing you the real side to development.
Good job! I love it when these old buildings are saved and reutilized.
🤯Very inspiring, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching! Are you involved in property?
Great idea. Renovate existing buildings. Now thats good for the environment. Bravo ❤
Great video. Please keep the vids coming 👍
Will definitely do that. What do you want to see?
would love to see a project like this without demolition
Well done brother south Africa is watching🎉🎉🎉🎉
My brothers!!! I love SA
This is a peak example of how you create a platform, and turn it into something good. This directly contributes back to the communities you're in. You can't do that with moldy cheese in a knock-off kids meal
This is goals👏🏾
Are you interested in development?
I hope you are open to feedback. The information is amazing. You did a phenomenal job explaining quickly how you went from such a horrid property to where you currently are. The edits are distracting and not needed. I really enjoyed and subscribed. Thanks
Very open to feedback - thank you. Take a look at my latest vid and let me know what you think
Very inspiring and a great video. But I would love to see you make a video about how you got the financing for that project 😊
As in how my own money was put together as well as the proposition to the bank? My own money came from profits for my Letting business and the bank is the bank. I will definitely go into this in more detail in future videos. Do subscribe!
Yes. I also wanted to know the loaning process with the bank… I’m subscribed ❤
(to high, not enough parking on the street, not the "right area" for appartments, ... )
It helps to know the right gov't official who is responsable for the planning so that you can adjust the plans accordingly. Is that the case too in the UK?
Can someone explain to me:
If the building was going to be demolished, is it less expensive buying a run down building than buying an equal plot of land?
It’s not easy to find land in dense areas that doesn’t have anything on it. Usually there’s an existing building or there was a building there that needs to go before you can put your new development on there
@@Anthony.Laville Oh, thanks for explaining…
As someone with a relatively good knowledge of the market/industry… What are the some insightful tips, knowledge you can share/give to one who may be looking to get into it?
You are welcome. I look forward to hearing about your progress.
Usually don't like these types of videos. "I bought this house for 20p and sold it for £2m!!!" However this is helping students, not taking advantage of people. Also I'll always support and be happy for a Brummie, specially one that's black too. 🤙🏾
Investing in alternate income streams should be the top priority for everyone right now. especially given the global economic crisis we are currently experiencing. stocks, gold, silver, and virtual currencies are still attractive investments at the moment.
You are absolutely right 💯
Am looking for something to venture into on a short term basis, I really need to create an alternate source of income, what do you think I should be buying?
Cryptocurrency investment, but you will need a professional guide on that.

As an onlooker from the outside, Im worried about where the UK and Europe in general is headed.
Its great to see efforts like this.
YOU KILLED IT MAN. GREAT JOB!!!
Thanks man - took a while but definitely a team effort
@@Anthony.Laville This is something I would definitely like to do in the near future or be apart of. Keep being that inspiration.
Awesomeness ✨Congratulations
Thank you!!
Drunk students and rooftop spaces not a good mix.
@@blackbeautifulandsmart2849 you could say that about any rooftop bar and people drinking, you make it as safe as possible
This is the type of development people like. Why build so many new houses over green spaces and farm land when we already have so many unused and abandoned buildings? Good job.
Well said!
Man.. the editing made me really dizzy... good job on the building tho!
I appreciate this journey my brother. Thank you.
What happen when the landlord tried to pull out? How did you have security that he could not pull out?
We had a legal binding agreement in place and so we threatened legal action… it went on for a couple of weeks but he conceded in the end… it looked shaky for a minute
This is Home's Under the Hammer on Mr Beast's level. A very much underrated video! This is mega.
Wow, thanks! What a compliment - the last 2 videos took a lot of effort to make then engaging too
Can you create a space for creatives such as music / theatre venue. Studios and a space for content creators?
I know the scene for that is big in Birmingham
we should connect would love to do this as well
I’m down
This is incredibly inspiring. Tfs and good luck with future projects 👏🏾
Love it when Blaq brothers win
Same! Thanks for the love. Do you do anything in property?
Well done, inspiring 👏
Thank you - it’s worth it in the end isn’t it. Are you interested in getting involved in development?
This is amazing to see, especially knowing how difficult it is to build anything in the UK. They really need to work on the insane amounts of red tape.
Yep is not easy to build here so glad to have it over the line!
Inspiration trust me, power & respect to you masterful.🔥
Thank you man - what other type of content do you want to see?
learnt a lot @anthony, and very motivating. I want to get into the property development business, I would love to get some advice from you, Thank you for being open and showing us this project. I can understand you have to be concise, but would love to see more details about projects and how you tackle challenges etc.
Excellent project. We need more like yourself to make these things happen.
I haven't watched the whole video yet, but wow, it seems like you might just be solving the accommodation crisis we have in parts of the UK. Really interesting, thanks for the idea.
Great endurance great resilience......fabulous accommodation.
It was never going to be easy, was it? Thanks!
Well done!!!!! I applaud you for pushing through. I am also very proud of you.
Well done Anthony
Thanks Anthony! Are you in property?
Love this. Would love to replicate this in Kenya.
You’ve got this!
@@Anthony.Laville Thank you. First vid I watched and I'm inspired. I have no background in construction or anything in that sector whatsoever. Probably, you could put up one where you show and explain how to put together a team than turns the vision into a reality. Regards, S.
Goals 🎉
Ok I'm barely a minute into the video and I'm just wowed by the intro and the editing.
Love that! Pleased to hear it didn’t go unnoticed
Big Deals Only 🔥
@@PropertyDevelopmentEd the only way!
Sick bro i remember when you first acquired it love to see it finally come to fruition congrats bro 👊🏾
This was brilliant young man. Very inspirational. Beautiful building and great you have students as tenants; wonderful study layout and amenities. Build more similar projects for doctors, nurses, elderly. Great job; can imagine it was a stressful project but worth it in the end.
Couldn't agree more!
Chill with the effects bro. It’s distracting and takes away the delivery of the message
