Thank you very much for your review of this e-scooter. I purchased the campus pro for my Mom as a way to get around town in short trips and sense of independence. She recently was in the hospital for having seizures but is thankfully doing much better now but can't drive anymore. So having this for her is a great option to help her feel like herself again. Just wondering your thoughts on a new rider/elderly person starting out with this scooter. Just want to make sure Mom is safe but give her freedom to get around. Monday is when the scooter is to get here. Appreciate your time and any feedback/suggestions you have. Thank you! Jess 😊
Hello Jess, thanks for the message. I'm sorry to hear about your mom, and hope she gets well soon. The most challenging things about the scooter are balance, throttle control, and braking. Ideally your mom should have a good sense of balance, or may further injure herself if she falls off at speeds up to 20mph. Secondly, throttle control will determine how fast the scooter will go. She can change the pedal assist levels to limit the max speed, and can practice riding in a lower gear until she's comfortable as it's more forgiving. Lastly, braking will determine how smoothly the scooter will stop. Ideally she should be able to put one or two feet down at a stop, and putting the seat to the lowest position will help. She can practice all 3 of these in an empty parking lot before getting on the road. I hope this helps
The one thing I wanted to know isn't covered lol. TLDR: I got a Gotrax F2 Pro, which advertises 15 mph and 7 mile range. In reality it only reached 15 mph going down at least 10 percent grade. It averaged 11mph, when battery was above 1/2, 7mph when battery was below 1/2. From a fully charged battery traveling on fairly level ground it only went 1.3 miles before being completely dead unable to move any more. I have seen dozens of video review for various electric scooters and literally not a single one has done a range test to see what range you actually get out of the scooter compared to its advertised distance. I considered getting one similar to this one on Amazon, but many require up to a $100 non refundable delivery fee. There is no possibility I will ever pay such a fee when lying about speed and range seems to be an industry standard for these devices. Now if one advertised 25 mile range, but you only really get 20, that would be fine, if I knew that before purchasing. But getting 6 times less range than advertised is simply unacceptable.
Sorry to hear about your scooter range. I've noticed most ebikes and escooters get half of the advertised range with normal riding. I'd also look for scooters with free shipping on Amazon or the manufacture websites, and look at their return policy. Most allow free returns within 15 or 30 days if it doesn't meet your expectations, or is defective.

Hi I have a question i don’t know which e-scooter should i get. Caroma P7, P1 or the Gotrax flex ultra. They are both on Amazon. Which one do you think is better? Thank you
I've never tried the Caroma sitting scooters, but on paper the P7 is cheaper than the Gotrax and has a more powerful motor. A lot of these scooters are similar in functionality, so I'd suggest getting the fastest cheapest one.
I wish this model would come with a seat like the cheaper model they sell which looks more like a Moped style seat. It seems like each electric sit down scooter has features I do and don't like.
The more powerful scooters come with a bicycle seat and less powerful cheaper models come with a really nice moped style seat. Doesn't make sense. Also it looks like the less powerful models come with a spring style suspension but cost more. Also some scooters have the lights in better locations then others. Some have the head light located by the front wheel or located up on the handlebar which it makes more sense to me to have it up on the handlebar. I wish there was scooter company that can put all the right features into one package with a nice frame that makes sense when building a scooter the right way. I am sure a guy can modify stuff themselves but it's nice if the companies could figure out what makes sense when building them. Also some have
I like the Flex Ultra better. No keys, and more informative LED screen. But I agree: it is heavy. It does get up the small hill near where I live nicely.

Are these scooters able to withstand being in the cold weather multiple hours without discharge? ride to work and now that the weather is cold, I’m worried about the battery depleting while I’m at work for 10 hours at a time.
How cold is it outside, and how far are you riding? Lithium-ion batteries for electric bikes perform best between 60 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit (15.5-26.6 Celsius). Below 40° F (4.4° C), the battery performance begins to degrade significantly.
I just have the Go Trax Flex and this summer I'd get about 15, 16 miles, but I never ride it until the battery dies. The other day I rode it at 52F and got to 14 miles and it died, but luckily I made it to the parking lot. Plus, my tires were abit low so that didn't help. Filled up tires & rode the next day, same temp. & got 14, but I stopped in the lot before it died so it probably could have done 15. So I'd say anything under 55F you'll may lose a mile or 2 and power is just a tad sluggish.
Wish I would’ve seen this video before my brother totally unscrewed the pieces on the seat. Now I’m having trouble putting those pieces back together. Any way you can please show me how to put that back together?

I would suspect so. The Flex and Campus have 350W motors, so it would make sense that they have the same max speed. I haven't been able to test the Campus to verify.
Yes, the seat post can be raised. If you look at this timestamp you can see how far the seat post goes in. Thanks ua-cam.com/video/h5a3Pl71s1Q/v-deo.htmlsi=m8K_QuzidurTwJFM&t=157

Which do you like better the GoTrax Campus Pro e-scooter or the Gyroor C1S with 2 baskets? I'm thinking of buying one or the other which one do you prefer and do you think is a better value and a better scooter? Thanks
They're about the same in performance. I liked the center basket on the Gyroor, but think GoTrax is a more known brand, so there will be more replacement parts if things break down.
Hello Michael, I sold the scooter shortly after posting this video, so I wasn't able to test the range. Typically I've gotten 1/2 of the advertised range with sprinted riding on other ebikes/escooters. I did not have issues turning with the scooter. I could see how it would be more difficult than a standing scooter due to the larger tires and turning radius, but it's easier to turn than mopeds and motorcycles.
Are you referring to the 2 bolts that hold the handlebar to the stem? I showed it here. ua-cam.com/video/h5a3Pl71s1Q/v-deo.htmlsi=wF18JWeY5fWIZ4EU&t=127 It's possible that the metal threads on the stem have stripped, and they will continue to tighten. Does it look worn?

I'm trying not to get a car since it's expensive; that's why I bought a scooter to be able to get around the city of Calgary. I'm excited; cant wait till it arives in the mail!! 🥰
It depends on your local jurisdiction. Oftentimes even if it's required no one will enforce it. The range depends on how aggressively/soft you throttle, battery condition, temperature, weight, slope, etc.
@ColinLeung I stay far away from roads only use the scooter when it's convenient. If i Need to go riding to my job during the winter time; friends/movies pretty much sidewalk use. 🥰🥰ThankYou

Is the seat supposed to wobble a tad? I have the seat post clamp really tight and when sitting on the seat it shifts to the left or right a bit, seems from teh top of the post, not the post itself
A little wobble should not be an issue as long as the seat post, seat rail AND seat are secure. In addition to the seat post clamp being tight please double check the two bolts holding the seat to the seat rails to the seat post. You will need two adjustable wrenches to tighten them. Let me know if that fixes it.
Great video. Simple to follow. I have owned from a different maker a seated scooter for 3 years.. I love the scooter, but there support and battery management are terrible. I've replace 3 batteries in 3 years. Same problem. Battery won't charge. Do you have any knowledge regarding Gotrax service support and battery management? I'm 6'1". Do you think I'll be able to ride comfortably with my feet on the deck without having my knees buckled?
Hello, I've only dealt with Gotrax's marketing department, and not their service department, so I cannot comment on how helpful they are. I'm 5'11", and did not have any issues with knee clearance. There appears to be a few inches of clearance from the stem, so you should be okay. ua-cam.com/video/h5a3Pl71s1Q/v-deo.htmlsi=RcyF391UHy1xA0oi&t=33
I don't know if it's worth $599. Maybe $499, or less, which it seems like there's a sale right now. If you're in the Bay Area I can sell you this one for less than the sale price.
@@ColinLeung Appreciate it though i'm in the east coast, Glad you did this review. I'm still on the fence even for $499, maybe @WPO_tj can give thoughts on it after his experience with it
Respectfully, they need to incorporate Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries into these scooters. Lithium-Ion batteries can be dangerously combustible. Thanks for your review.
Per this site it seems like you need a license. Rules of the Road Pennsylvania law is quite strict when it comes to electric scooters on public roads. The state considers them vehicles, meaning they are not exempt from titling and registration requirements as set forth by PennDOT and would be required to pass equipment standards and inspection requirements. However, most electric scooters don’t have the necessary equipment (like turn signals and mirrors) to meet these registration and inspection requirements. This effectively makes them illegal to ride on Pennsylvania roads. upperallenpolice.com/wp/information/electric-scooters-and-pennsylvania-law/
How well does this thing handle inclines? I'm looking to get this version, but the couple hills in my area I have to pedal ebikes up them or slow down to a crawl
Does your seat move side to side? Mine does for some reason. And my seat kind of goes forward and then when I lean back it goes back. It’s so weird I just reached out to them though.
My seat did not move. You may want to check the two bolts that hold the seat to the seatpost. It sounds like they're loose. You'll need two adjustable wrenches to tighten them.
I have the Gotrax Flex regular one and I ride 16 miles round trips on the bike trails; 8 up and 8 back. This one should go even abit further so a 10 mile trip is fine. I bought mine just a few weeks before this one came out or I would have bought this one. I just use the Speedometer app & it shows your milage and speed, plus even has a map that tracks your every move where you go.

Is it possible to drive it slow? I am a young person looking to find a scooter for mobility issues and want to be able to ride it on the side walk at 3-5mph
The throttle is sensitivity controlled meaning if you apply 10% rotation and it will ride slow. It might be difficult to not overdo it, or hold it at a steady rate. I did not see an option to change any settings to limit the speed.
I have the Gotax Flex and I'm 60, but I wouldn't use this at those low speeds for mobility issues. It's too wobbly for low speeds, imo. Better off getting a 3 wheeler or similar with good balance for slow speeds.
It looks the same from what I can see. I'm not seeing the Astro on their website, so maybe it was originally marketed for a different region? I only see the flex, campus and campus pro on their site.
I don't know if it has a max rider height because the individual just sits on the scooter without pedaling like a typical bike. As long as your knees clear the stem and elbows the handlebar then it should work, but it might feel cramped.
That was a great thorough review and thank you for that. I just have one question with regard to the basket in the back, do you think we can replace that with a small seat? Do you think the weight on the seat will interfere with the spring-shocks installed near the back? Thanks.
@@ColinLeung Thanks for the reply. I'm assuming the 264lbs weight limit was referring to the total weights of the rider and passenger. Just wondering if any additional weight supporting frame need to be added if installing a seat, or its original body frame is already sufficient. =)
I took a picture of the battery for someone before selling the scooter. There's screws holding the cover on the bottom. Once that's removed the battery can be unplugged.
@@rmstark1966 The label said Z144-48V9.6AH LG. TT2023052500088. I could not find that battery online, but it does have a XT connector. I did not unplug it to determine whether it was XT40, 60 or 90, but any 48V battery with that connector should work, or you can solder new connectors to make any battery work.

The ultra has 500w motor
Great video, thanks.!

@ ok thanks
Caroma isn’t cheaper, on Amazon they’re charging like $140 for shipping so keep that in mind.
I wish this model would come with a seat like the cheaper model they sell which looks more like a Moped style seat. It seems like each electric sit down scooter has features I do and don't like.
Thanks for the comment. The Campus Pro has a seat, but are you referring to a backrest?

@@tedstout7439 Thanks for sharing. I haven't had a chance to test it, but on paper it does look better with the suspension and LED screen.
so when you do all the miles does it just stop working completely?
That is correct. The motor will not work, but you may be able to use it as a kick scooter with a lot of weight/resistance.
How does Gotrax support, parts, and customer service rate?
Hello, I've never dealt with their support yet because I didn't have issues with their product. They seem to have a good support system set up including a phone number, which is uncommon for many ebike/scooter companies.

I love this scooter. 😊
Hello Keith, I'm glad you love the scooter.
Same one I have except they made a slight upgrade so it last longer
That's wonderful

Which one do you recommend Gotrax flex ultra or Gotrax campus pro?
Which do you like better the GoTrax Campus Pro e-scooter or the Gyroor C1S with 2 baskets? I'm thinking of buying one or the other which one do you prefer and do you think is a better value and a better scooter? Thanks
They're about the same in performance. I liked the center basket on the Gyroor, but think GoTrax is a more known brand, so there will be more replacement parts if things break down.
How do you like it now and how miles do you get on full charge also some say it's hard to make turns on these do you find that to be true? Thanks!
Why is no one showing the tightening of the screw in the handle stem. My screw isn't tightening.
Are you referring to the 2 bolts that hold the handlebar to the stem? I showed it here. ua-cam.com/video/h5a3Pl71s1Q/v-deo.htmlsi=wF18JWeY5fWIZ4EU&t=127
It's possible that the metal threads on the stem have stripped, and they will continue to tighten. Does it look worn?

Don’t need. License I have one
@215reek2 good to know; ThankYou!
🥰🥰ThankYou

It should be able to go 20mph with sufficient charge (30%+), but it's good practice to fully charge the battery prior to first use.

I would like one, do they come on different colors? And how far can they go on one charge. T
.y.
The website only shows it in gray. MILES PER CHARGE - Flex 16 miles / Campus 17 miles / Campus Pro 18.6 miles

Do you need a drivers license to drive this in Pennsylvania?
Per this site it seems like you need a license. Rules of the Road
Pennsylvania law is quite strict when it comes to electric scooters on public roads.

How well does this thing handle inclines? I'm looking to get this version, but the couple hills in my area I have to pedal ebikes up them or slow down to a crawl
I wasn't able to test hills before I sold it, but 500W motors typically can climb 15 to 25 percent grades. Anything higher it may struggle.
@@ColinLeung Ah, well that sucks.
@@ColinLeung thank you, I’ll try!
Would you recommend this for longer commutes? 5 Miles to and from?
I have the Gotrax Flex regular one and I ride 16 miles round trips on the bike trails; 8 up and 8 back. This one should go even abit further so a 10 mile trip is fine. I bought mine just a few weeks before this one came out or I would have bought this one. I just use the Speedometer app & it shows your milage and speed, plus even has a map that tracks your every move where you go.
Yes, as the other user mentioned 5 miles each way is below the maximum range. The max speed may be limiting if you need to ride along traffic.

I noticed you're in a relatively flat area, do you think it would do well climbing hills?
I think it would take 15 deg hills with some effort. Anything steeper may be a struggle.
Is the flex campus the same one as the Astro ? I’m getting super lost/confused on this. Is there 3 models or 4? Thanks
It looks the same from what I can see. I'm not seeing the Astro on their website, so maybe it was originally marketed for a different region? I only see the flex, campus and campus pro on their site.
what's the maximum height? do you recommend for someone 6'7?
I don't know if it has a max rider height because the individual just sits on the scooter without pedaling like a typical bike. As long as your knees clear the stem and elbows the handlebar then it should work, but it might feel cramped.

As long as the rider isn’t the weight limit of the basket yes
Yes, as long as you can get the bolts to line up and the total weight doesn't exceed 264lbs it should be fine.
