Jon, Legendary is not a capped maximum. If you have something legendary and improve your smithing skill, or increase your improve weapons ability by wearing your Smithing gear, you can refine legendary weapons and armor even further. The damage will change, but the (Legendary) tag won't change.
LOL, Benor will not wear his better armor because it brings back bad memories. Thanks for another amazing adventure, Jon. There is Necromatic Healing spell that you can get from Dawnguard dlc. It works like Healing Hands for undead. The spell book in area where you first met Sarana or you could have buy in vampire castle. I am not sure that you will be allow back in the castle if you are not vampire. If you took Necromage skill in restoration tree, it makes spell more powerful.
Oh and in the tavern in raven rock there is a mercenary for hire than can summon frost and storm atronachs, so if your trying to maximize the people in your party he’s the way to go.
MINOR QUEST SPOILERS FOR NAMIRA DEADEIC QUEST BELOW okay so it isn’t much of a spoiler, and the game is about a decade old, but I feel it’s polite. Vigilance and the other Markarth dogs are fed on human flesh. Who’s a good boy?
Oh no, are we gonna get a storyline where Jon realizes that he's basically just hanging out with Benor's corpse and unless he kills him, his soul will never be at rest?
Jon. You joined the Imperial Army to redeem yourself. One of the first things you did was a (arguably) reprehensible deed of necromancy. Possibly leading to necrophilia, if you take your roleplaying/fanfictioning too far. Jon. You're still the bad guy.

Loving this series Jon. :) Got a few tips to pass on about being a necromancer for ya. First, looks like Benor reset his armor to his default when you rezzed him. Next time he dies, take the old armor out of his inventory and leave only the armor you want him to wear. Pro-tip: you can also recharge his Warhammer that way (take it off him once dead, recharge, put it back) and use him as unlimited portable storage if you want to as well. :P As for healing undead, the easiest way to do that is to go back to the dungeon you met Serana in. In the (I think) second to last room, hidden in a dark alcove of sorts, there is a free Heal Undead spell tome. That will work to heal Benor or any other undead you have with you, including Mistmen etc (the new spawns you got from the Soul Cairn). Alternatively, the Bosmer dude in the Alchemy room at Volkihar Castle sells a few different versions of Heal Undead type spell tomes, but you have to be a vampire Lord to access that or the place goes hostile. I have however heard that you can Calm the Bosmer dude and he will sell to you. Finally, when you dismiss Vigilance, he goes back to where you bought him - Markarth Stables. So you should find him there. :) Hope this helps.
Actually Jon, in Castle Volkihar there’s a dark elf vampire that sells spells, you can buy a healing undead spell book(s) from him. Idk if it will work with a dead thrall but it works against vampires (obviously)
I’ve power-watched 80 hours of this play through and I’m so uncomfortable with dead Benor. Like, the emotions are real right now. I’m seriously still reeling from the red wedding.
A mere minute in, and Jon already confuses imperials(mainly imperials themselves, which are mercantile guys that use whatever suits the job) with the stormcloaks(skyrim for nord, nord strong, nord love greatsword, greatsword is great, just like skyrim!). Oh flippin' dear.
Not like the Imperials don't just cut the heads off of anyone who is even seen near a Stormcloak. Or torture people. Or send them off to the Thalmore. Yeah, both sides have their darker siders.
XDieKillDieX Yes, but that was implied in "use whatever suits the job" by OP. I was noting that the Stormcloaks aren't exactly great either. Also, the Stormcloaks will pretty much doom both Skyrim and the Empire when war with the Thalmor comes around. So, go Empire to minimize genocide.
And here I was commenting on Jon's comment about imperials being the "running up to people and whacking them with a great, big flip-off stick" kinda guys. Accidentally summoned a classic "who's better" argument. That being said, the cause of stormcloaks is just dumb. After all, let's not forget that Ulfric, being the idiot that he is, started all this because he's too pissed off about Empire at large accepting the condition of banning Talos instead of being slaughtered. In his mind it's better to be murdered than to accept a mere ban of public worship and pray to Talos in his room instead.
Oh neither side is "better". I was just saying that both sides do some shady stuff, not just the Stormcloaks. Its easier to hate the Stormcloaks because a few of their ranks are racist but that doesn't make the Empire the "good guys". The Empire have done a lot of shady stuff over the years. The thing with wars like this is, thee is no clear good and bad, they are both fighting for causes they believe in. Stormcloacks for freedom and the Empire for security. Its not as clear cut as the war with the Thalmor, who just want to take over the world and are obviously the bad guys (unless you are one).
Darn it Jon, those ghosts were innocent people forced against their will to do the bidding of a bad guy, all you had to do was not take their souls and just kill them normally. You had ONE job!
Umm jon, just to let you know, those stone's you've been collecting...you pretty much have them all. The rest are basically around major cities. You'll need a guide to find them all though.
Just a thought, Jon, when originally killing benor, could have soul trapped him with the black star, and then bind benor's soul to a weapon. Could've kept benor around with him. Forever.....so long as he didn't use the weapon.
Hey Jon go back to the dungeon where you saved Serena in the room where you have to pull the lever to head into the colosseum room there is a heal undead spell sitting on the table that you left i just rewatched that episode to make sure and you never grabbed it that's the spell you can use to heal benor and Serena if you wanted to get her again
I wonder if Jon will stumble upon the loop of "fortify alchemy" enchantment -> "fortify enchanting" potion -> "fortify alchemy" enchantment -> repeat forever. Admittedly it does break the game, but it would be a fun thing to mess around with for like half an episode.
Ah wait so Benor is pretty much going to become totally useless since you can't adjust his equipment without modding... *The plot thickens* As things get harder will Jon have to make the ultimatest sacrifice!? I wonder if Miraak or whatever he's called will end up destroying this new team...Benor was always weak to Dragnonborns.
There is a spell that heals dead thralls I think. Can't remember if it was "Heal Undead" or "Necromantic Healing" but either one should work. You can buy them from the Castle Volkihar vampires, but you might need to be a vampire for that. Also, next time Benor dies, you might want to take the Ebony boots off him and give them to Iona? FYI, you can now use Benor as a mobile storage chest if you're overweight while out on the road. Just kill him, open his inventory and put all your baggage on him, then bring him back.
Jon you should get the housecarl from Markarth. His name is Gregor and he's quite hunky by your standards, and you can start getting a reverse harem going on to do all the work for you.
Jose Pech wouldnt Benor be naked then? I dont remember that undead thralls are equipping their best stuff (I may be wrong Idk)... Marry Christmas to yall
He was using his ebony warhammer though. I think companions are just fiddly with armor in skyrim and always reset to their default wear when you leave them. Taking off his armor may not work, but it's worth a try

Sild, the fourth worst serial killer in Skyrim. #3 is that one in Windhelm, #2 is one we haven't encountered yet that is also a necrophile, and #1 is of course Jon.
The way dead thrall works is kind of weird. When you enter a new cell or fast travel it completely reloads the character and sometimes resets their inventory
Jon, there are done followers who dont have a level cap, example j'zargo (the khajit that wanted you to test some scrolls in the college) hes a really good companion and isnt really a (he knows spells but hed rather charge in and fight) mage, he also have the heavy armor perk so give him some heavy gloves and he has that as a weapon stat+ His khajit racial bonus, if you then Take apart your puglish gloves and re-enchat the heavy armor gloves and some other things like for the spells he does want to use then youre golden (though if you have the unofficial patch, which i cant remember if you do right now, he'll be cape att 30 god knows why..) but hes still a worthy companion
Since you ask, there ARE two spells that let you heal undead! Both are sold by vendors in Castle Hogwarts. I dunno if they'll be friendly to you now that you've cured yourself though...
How long till Benor gets killed while fighting necromancers and then gets revived by said necromancer and then turned to ash on death?
how long till benor dies without jon realizing then losing him
It would be cool to have turned the Emperor into your undead thrall and then join the Imperials
Omg the main character returned
Craig Canepa I know right this whole vampire assassin spinoff was kinda weird.
Jon, Legendary is not a capped maximum. If you have something legendary and improve your smithing skill, or increase your improve weapons ability by wearing your Smithing gear, you can refine legendary weapons and armor even further. The damage will change, but the (Legendary) tag won't change.
Triaxx2 Exactly. It bothered me in a weird way seeing that the Blade of Woe could be improved, but he didn't notice it.
with enough buffs you could make a wood sword and leather armor miles better then Daedric
LOL, Benor will not wear his better armor because it brings back bad memories. Thanks for another amazing adventure, Jon. There is Necromatic Healing spell that you can get from Dawnguard dlc. He could always become a vampire again and then do the ritual again. I went back and forth between werewolf and vampire many times.
They don't seem to mind your non-vampire status.
Triaxx2 That is good to know since I have always stay as vampire lord.
MrRtkwe I usually stay as vampire lord since it is more fun for mage characters that I prefer to play.
jzillacon Thank you. I did not know you could do this. Merry Christmas with best wishes.
Next time Benor dies (or you kill him) remove all Benor’s iron armour and next time you resurrect him, he’ll equip the ebony gear you gave him.
I rise
Hey zombie Benor would you stop it with the flippin' groanings already.. jeez!
Uuuurgh.
Wait you can talk
Uhhh... that's highly inappropriate, Benor.
Jon, you should go back to Markarth and re-recruit vigilance and expand your crew even more!
Oh and in the tavern in raven rock there is a mercenary for hire than can summon frost and storm atronachs, so if your trying to maximize the people in your party he’s the way to go.

Jon the vampire side of the dawnguard DLC sells a healing spell that works on undeads (Benor).
GaratghDeloi indeed!
You actually find that spell for free when rescuing Serana. It was in a side area but I always get it so I can heal Serana.
Was kinda hoping jon would use console to resurrect Benor and the whole raise dead spell was just for story purposes
I'm kind of glad he didn't. I love the fact that Benor is back as a goofy zombie.
I'm kind of glad he didn't. I love the fact that Benor is back as a goofy zombie.
I called that resurrection with the spell from the second he fus ro dah'd him off the bridge
Problem is it Benor dies near necromancers they might raise him and then he'll be lost forever when he turns to ash
Sp4rt4nSl4ya That would be absolutely hilarious.
The moment I saw the dungeon you were going to was Rannveig's Fast I knew you where going to fall for that trap and you didn't disappoint Jon.
Existence for Benor is pain, his soul is bound to Aetherius, to resurrect him is to strain his being and weakens his soul until it ceases to exist and Benor is lost for all time...
Also there's a spell called 'necromantic healing' added by Dawnguard if you must keep Benor in your service, it's apprentice level
BUT JON'S THE GOOD GUY
Kabobawsome *side character
Benor's groans are profoundly unsettling...

I never thought anyone could ever unintentionally fall for Rannveig's Fast traps, but Perception 1 Jon strikes again.

Jon, a Ghost is a Soul that's Unable to Pass On. Of course it has a Flipping soul, Because it's a Soul in of Itself.

Jon you should get the housecarl from Markarth. His name is Gregor and he's quite hunky by your standards, and you can start getting a reverse harem going on to do all the work for you.
Jose Pech all housecarl are almost the same
is he 2 hand or something?
There's a specific spell in a side quest that starts under the temple of mara that the reward is a special spell that heals undead
there's a spell tome being sold in volkihar castle.
Jon, one of the first and maybe safest possibility to grind restoration is the energy barrier on High Hrothgar.

Jon please give Iona some ebony boots. Those steel plate boots look terrible with her ebony armor and weapons. Just take the ones off Benor next time he dies.
Hi Jon! There is a spell that will let you heal Benor, it's the heal undead spell. As he is now a thrall, he is very very undead.
Any particular reason why you didn’t improve your Blade of Woe?
Vigilance might be in your house under construction in falkreath
There are special heal undead spells that you can buy at the vampire castle.
You have a specific healing spell to heal anything (one step harder than heal other)
Jon have you tried looking for the dog in markarth
Jon their is a heal the dead spell in dimhollow crypt, just before the room where u find serana or find it at Castle volkihar I think. Oh and next time benor dies take his steel armour, he might switch to the good stuff
Lydia is also a sword & board specialist and you could just get a mod to unlock the level cap.
I see Benors vocabulary has improved. And now Jon is into necrophelya.
Elixir of lasting potency hue hue
Jon, the "hard cap" on improving equipment doesn't actually exist. although it CAN be increased to the point that it goes into negative numbers.
dont feel bad about the obvious trap, i fell for it twice

Jon that bridge incident happened years ago, you need to let go.

You can always console command Benor to resurrect.
Maybe look at the Better Dead Thralls mod? You can manage outfits and other things with it.
Benor loved this!
They're are spells to heal undead companions. I believe at the college. Might need a certain level in something.
Jon, I think you left Vigilance in the vampire castle because you were kicking his ass in every fight.
Benor has become the Chosen Undead. Hopefully Jon doesn't lose him to Solaire.
Necromantic Healing - Apprentice
Heal Undead - Adept
