At the risk of repeating myself that is another epic production mate - you (and others) really are documenting the spectacular growth of town. Yes some of the buildings are controversial, I believe this one (also known as StayCity) has f*cked up the beer garden in the pub but hey ho such is life. No matter, none of that is down to you. Keep these fabulous records of town's development coming they will be an invaluable archive for the generations that follow. Great work mate.
Not bad in this case. At least The Deansgate survived. The Ducie Bridge was not so lucky. WE weren't...

Why is it controversial? it's going to look better than what was there before! good video
Its easy to pick holes when looking at a core of a building, lets judge once the steel and cladding and windows are installed.
What used to be a car park full of needles and drug use will be a good looking building which in my book is only a possitive.
The pictures of the new hotel look pretty good. It’ll be a great addition. There’s another small tower going at the other side of Beetham and then the 76 floor one as well.
Controversial?
Well, it'll spoil views on other buildings, like Deansgate Sq. or Beetham Tower from some points, but I can live with it.

Deansgate really will change, with One Cathedral Square and 39 Deansgate, plus the Kendals/House of Fraser plans.
It could also get some near neighbours, at Vision and as you probably know, at Jadebricks on Charles Street.

🚨 Breaking... 325 Deansgate is changing!

The size of the building will increase by 2 ft. Plant will be less visible from the street.
The Deansgate pub is 200 years old so the development's cladding is changing to brick-type cladding in the lower floors as homage.
The higher floors are proposed to be white glazed terracotta tiled.
🔹 To be honest it looks an improvement. 😊👍
I think the building is "controversial" because the building will cantilever over the pub below !!
Imagine owning the building the pub is in?!?!
