I saw JM at Res Lick around 88 or 1990. He had a young girl playing piano. I think she was visually impaired as I am. He was really promoting her. I thought it was a nice thing to do. In those same years, I saw him at the festival of the Bluegrass in Lexington, Kentucky, late one night playing guitar in a jam session feeling good calling Bill Monroe every name you could imagine I thought it was funny at the time I love Jimmy he was one of the best Travis in Kentucky
I sure miss seeing the king of bluegrass at the festival's. I just love ole Jimmy. On stage and off, he was one of a kind. I noticed how he flirts with the ladies while singing it takes one to know one. Lol! Right off the bat saying boy it's an awful big crowd here. Looks like we're gonna get paid for this one. He was sure something else. He didn't get on the bus and not see him again, like the rest of them did. He came out and fellowship with his fans. He loved bluegrass music and he loved his fans. God bless Jimmy. R.I.P
