I’ve been a critic of some of Sonny’s goofing at times everyone else was trying to play a good tune. Not here though. Just spittin Fire. But this is something you can’t go see anymore and I miss it. These giants are all gone.
Larry I do love your guitar pickin I been playing since 1966 and I still can't play but I give my all you are my favorite bluegrass band I think you sure can pick we used to sing you got move many years now I'm from Duncan Oklahoma
Clark Cynthia Robinson Steven Allen John
That’s Renfro Valley Ky in 1972 or 1973 ! No North C to this stage
Is that "Curly" Cline on Fiddle from the Clinch Mtn Boys?
No that's his brother Charlie. I see that in a comment below. thanks
Jim Mills was one hell of a banjo player. RIP

I always liked Jim and Jessie from way back. But really really took more interest when my high school mate and good fiddling friend ( Jim Brock) played with them. Jim Brock was married to my wife's highschool mate.
I heard Little Roy live twice in the last 8 months at the Withlacoochee Bluegrass Festival. He's in his early 80's and hasn't lost a step or a second. The 8th wonder of the world.
Very best bluegrass band yet. Love em totally.
Just wonderful unique bluegrass !
RIP Bobby 🎻
beautiful repertoire and voices sound so good together. simply Ralph Stanly , unique !
Tony was my main influence to learn to play this Music we call Bluegrass ❤ And I’m a dang Banjo Player ain’t that Crazy 👍 Just my opinion but I Think Tony was the Best and Innovative Guitar Player 💙 I went to a Lot of His Shows and my all time Favorite was The Midnight Jam at the Doc Watson Festival ❗️❗️❗️❗️

God almighty Terry Eldridge on bass good he is! Later went to the guitar an his cohort Terry Smith became bassist for the team ! Fine fiddling by the Duncan! This was just a little time before the dobro player joined the band! God the harmony’s them licks Sonny is hitting! Finest performance’s in them days! Had the pleasure of introducing them to the stage on several occasions in my Mc work at festivals ! An continued with Bobby and his Rocky Top Express!
I was fortunate to these these guys with Paul Warren on fiddle in March 1974.The Osborne Bros(NOT Brothers Osborne),were on the same show. I went backstage in a boys locker room and heard them jamming with my sister. Sonny Osborne answered ,looking like a cartoon devil, smoking a Betty Davis cig holder and told us to scat. We didn't. Paul Warren came out, shook our hands and went and got Lester. He was genuine ,answered my questions, shook our hands, and told us to enjoy the show. Marty Stuart got the spotlight, and after the Show they handed out Martha White coupons for Free products. I was 10.
"you dont know my mind" too fast, too much bounce
I grew up listen watching Lester Flat . 40s 2024 😀
Greatest bluegrass singer alive today! ❤
I saw JM at Res Lick around 88 or 1990. He had a young girl playing piano. I think she was visually impaired as I am. He was really promoting her. I thought it was a nice thing to do. In those same years, I saw him at the festival of the Bluegrass in Lexington, Kentucky, late one night playing guitar in a jam session feeling good calling Bill Monroe every name you could imagine I thought it was funny at the time I love Jimmy he was one of the best Travis in Kentucky
Спасибо, всегда приятно слушать блюграс и кантри музыку!
Awesome Marty, still awesome ❤❤❤
Woah! Thank you for posting🤍
Campbell mercer I sure miss the Cumberland highlanders show on rfd channel I wish we still had it it was my favorite show I miss the price sisters and Cody Norris show
Around Duncan Oklahoma we would play with bluegrass banjo picker bill davis and when he came to visit we would play wite fingerless roy thackerson he is a wonderful bluegrass picker God bless you all brother larry 😊
Who the heck is on dobro and bass?
Uncle Josh Graves on dobro, from Flatt & Scruggs
Non better, non better. This is all real. They loved the music. Was not all about the money and recognition :) Talked with Ralph many times over the years, he was always so kind and talk to you like he cared about you. When I was about 10 years old, he was sitting way back from the stage listening. The location was Lost Acres Bluegrass Festival. I had my banjo and asked him to sign the head. He gladly did, it says Keep Picking Ralph Stanley. I still have this and is one of my best memories of Ralph. I am currently 57 years old. Miss this man and his distinctive sound. I am still playing and try my best to keep the Stanley sound alive today. Rest in Peace my friends, rest in peace :)
You cannot beat this group for good ole country bluegrass direct from Leslie county Ky. *****
Chris warner on banjo !
Who's playing bass?
Brad Hudson And wow, that’s Curly Ray Cline’s brother Charlie on fiddle.
Sonny always smiling, miss him.
My parents named me after Jesse McReynolds. BTW it's BENDING the strings, not ABANDON 🙂
Best lead singer Ralph ever had, was Mr Sammy Adkins. Proud to call him my friend.
Pretty good boys
Jack Cooke was a legend, he had lost a lot of weight at this juncture in his career...... The Mayor
To join the Clinch Mountain Boys you had to be super good, you couldn't be just good, you had to be next level or it just wasn't going to work out. So all these musicians you're seeing with Ralph are Just exceptional and legends like Cooke and Curly and the boys.
It makes me happy with Ricky skaggs Kentucky thunder awesome job ❤❤❤
Yessir, we lost a good one. RIP, Jim .
Lordamercy. That rendering of If I Lose makes me want to punch through a brick wall. Top tier.
2 stars of Audies band.Patrick and Russ Carson on banjo
heard his cover of Martins's Sophronie I it was Jimmy.
Be missed? I'll say. Tge first time I beard
What a great band! I saw them around 1980 at Great America in the Bay Area California. Some of the best harmonies ever.
Sound mix leaves a lot to be desired.
The best, no doubt! Sonny was so talented and of course no one can sing like Bobby. Love them so much!
The very best blue grass… no question! I wish we had these boys back for much, much more. God bless the memories we have to listen to now.
What’s crazy is Bobby kept his voice great into his late 80s
I was there. What wonderful memories of a great festival.
Too bad Audie lost McAvinue to the USN BG band.
On the last Jimmy Martin show I enjoyed he said was only 1of 2 singers (the other was Paul Williams) he could depend to give a rock solid vocal and mandolin performance. The Audie broke a mando string!!!
Yes sir I'm going to miss jim😊
