I walked out of wifi while doing a software update and my HTC One M8 got stuck in recovery mode. I tried everything for it to work but it could only power down. I finally took it to a repair shop because I bought it unlocked on Amazon and HTC refused to honor a warranty. The shop says I need a new motherboard. Is it worth it to buy a new motherboard?
messed up the ear speaker, they have had the phone apart several times and failed to mention to heat up the face plate to remove speaker with out damaging it. Majority of the time they do not tell you there is glue or tape holding things down underneith so you attempt to remove like they do and you break things. Now I have to reassemble phone while I wait for a speaker to come in... :(
Wow...this video seems a ploy by Repairs Universe for you to break your phone more so you will buy parts from them. This phone they take apart in the video must have been taken apart before and most of the tape and adhesive removed. The actual cables are wrapped in much more tape and extremely difficult to remove. Many of the other components that they don't mention also have adhesive. Most importantly, their lack of detail on how to properly remove the volume cable caused mine to get destroyed. I am very light on the heat gun only doing more when necessary and even a small amount of heat ruined the cable by seemingly melting off the pressure pad. While this video is a good overview of the inside, it is clearly made to make the whole operation look like "hey no big deal, just buy our replacement parts and see how easy it is!" This isn't the case. Things are much trickier inside and it will take you 3x as long and you will most likely break things. I'm out $25 on a battery, rear camera, and new grills. Don't know if I want to wast another $10 on a volume cable that will now require 100% disassembly of the phone in which likely something else will break too.
Oh dear. I accidentally snapped the locking socket connector for the ribbon that powers the SIM card. Now I can't get any signal!! What am I going to do??? Please help
Neal Osborne We do offer the LCD and Touch screen with the frame which will fix this issue. That would resolve this issue for you and restore the signal.
Hello, since you are using the old screen there is already adhesive, but if this were a new one what would you use to stick it back on?
Will this fix the digitizer too?

+Calana Smith May not be worth buying a new motherboard in all honesty. You would want to simply pursue a new mobile device.
OK thanks for the feedback
+Calana Smith Omg. you lost a phone cuz of Softwer Update. ;_;
If you still have it, I'll take the phone
Sorry I've moved since then. No idea where to find it Talal916.
