  • Laurie Anderson in 'A Room for London'
This performance was part of "Sounds from a Room", an Artangel production, broadcasted as a live video stream from a hotel installation on the roof of the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London.
In part one, as a self-proclaimed 'River DJ', Laurie describes the boat and what she sees from the windows, then she switches to a favourite book of hers: "Between Silk and Cyanide" by Leo Marks, a story of a codemaker during World War II.
    (N. B. the audio of the recording needed to be enhanced at several points since the sound engineers of the live stream were not on top of their job, to say the least.)

Laurie Anderson and Elizabeth Diller, for my money, have the most beautiful speaking voices. It's no accident that they are both brilliant women who think non-linearly.
