I always wished she made a video for "He Doesn't Even Know That I'm Alive" from her control album, I pictured something like a Grease theme like Summer Nights, or You're The One That I Want for the song and it's like a dream versus reality about a man she really wants but he doesn't notice her or behaves like that as a front to get her to make the move, or annitiate as such as it's her in control all the way.
She really dancing her soul out here, and she looks so cool doing it
Janet Jackson is beyond an icon. It is great she is getting to tell her story. Because of the knowledge she has she continues to be the blueprint for many artists. Best of all she has created a legacy beyond The Jackson family name.

I wouldn’t say it was ahead of it’s time, it’s more that it’s still relevant today. Ahead of its time implies that it wasn’t for the time it came out but I think it’s always been relevant.

Rhythm Nation; one of the most underrated albums of all time. One of the best albums of all time. (The first album I ever bought... I was 6 years old when it came out and begged my dad to buy it for me)

I gave it all my respect, since the culture of choreography was still undergoing develop at the time and it indeed was quite pioneering back then. However, you can’t lie about it being not good. Compared with today’s standard, it is shabby.

It is a slave to the beat and rhythms, storytelling and phrasing, coordination, agility, precision, etc. It's fucking fantastic. I'd take this over 90% of today's over choreographed routines that have no semblance of storytelling, and complete disregard of the rhythm of the music.
