- Wow, I really, really, really like this group. It is very interesting that System of a Down has a unique sound that I have not ever heard. Just when you think you have heard it all, you are surprised. It really boils down to the singer and the style he has along with the music. There were singing, rock rapping, and other unique styles that really made it cool. I loved it.

Toxicity could be a song about ADD (attention deficit DISORDER), their homeplace Los Angeles (toxic city, think of the walk of fame in the beginning of the video), or even about how we destroy our environment. All these explanations were given by different band members from time to time. System of a down songs are mostly wide open to interpretation, cause of multiple meanings. They make songs about politics, social issues, war, drugs, environmental problems, some songs seem to have spiritual meanings. Their genre is considered to be alternative metal. They are all from armenian descent, and a lot of their songs are about their people, suffering genocide by the turks, during WWI. Their armenian heritage is also an influence in their music, which makes use of oriental sounds and rhythm. They had multiple No. 1 albums in the US and worldwide between 1998 and 2005, a lot of MTV presence, and won 2 grammies. So they were quite huge, actually. Their 2001 song "Chop Suey", which you should try next, has more than one billion views. Making it one of the most popular 'metal' songs of all time.

Daron Malakian, the lead guitarist, has given several descriptions of what this song is about. He's said it's about how when people die, they will be regarded differently depending on the way they pass. Another time he said it's about people with ADD.

Sugar by System Of A Down its my favorite from them, lyrically its not the best i suppose but i love the sound and that makes up for it considering most SOAD songs were probably written with Mad Libs, and can you do Blind and Chutes and Ladders by KoRn? Thank you, you are amazing! :D
