The Cambrian Period is one of the most significant times in the history of animals, and life in general. Starting with an explosion of diversity and body forms, this period marked the beginning of a whole new wave of life. Today, we’ll be exploring it! I’ll be introducing you to the ancestors of some more familiar species, as well as some of the stranger specimens from half a billion years ago. I hope you enjoy!
As always, a massive thanks to Gian for the phenomenal editing!

I blame " Walking with Monsters" for making me think that Anomalocaris was way bigger than it actually was.

  • @alexanderno1093

idk there's something so heartwarming about the growing fandom of real life

for a guy that has "Doolittle" as their middle name, he certainly did a lot of discoveries

Yaaasssssss!!! Danielle guest appearance. Can we get a Lindsay, Animalogic and Casual Geographic collab? I geeked when you made a guest appearance on Casual Geographic.

First: This presentation really makes me want to play Spore again. Second: The development of biomineralization, especially as a response to predation, is so fantastic. Soft thing A: "Ahh, we're getting eaten by bigger, hungrier soft things! What do we do?" Soft thing B: "Let's grow shells!" A: "Grow WHAT now?" B: "Shells! Like hard rock-like layers on the outside of out bodies, made out of minerals!" A: "And just how are we suppose to do that?" B: "I'm working on it, but if we like ingest a lot of minerals and sweat them out maybe it'll glue together and make a rigid outer layer?"

Imagine what other animals existed in the cambrian we just haven't found them. What if there was giant 100kg trilobite or jellyfish with bones. Nature is the coolest thing ever

Going from Danielle’s calming voice to Lindsay swearing was just weird and funny to me, never thought I’d ever see these two in the same video

This is the best channel (That we know of)

Something so satisfying about seeing great creators collaborate together.

I know you probably get this a lot, but you have pretty much singlehandedly reignited my passion for zoology and fossils. Thanks Lindsay!

I was homeschooled for religious reasons, and any mention of evolutionary biology was immediately thrown out, so I learned very little of this stuff.

I remember being in zoology class in highschool and almost everyone there was bored or uninterested. Meanwhile I was there drinking my juice and taking notes. I even knew facts about most creatures that the teacher didn't even know. I miss those days...

Was a major Dino and ancient animal fan for the longest of times.

I think Lindsey would be a fun person to hang out with. I love how she says “that we know of!” I sleep very well when Dino documentaries are playing in the background. She really could keep you engaged in the conversation or video! Keep up the great work!

Honestly one of my favorite episodes. Not only because the information and delivery are impeccable, but Danielle’s appearance gave me the craziest amount of nostalgia ever! Animalogic was one of the first wildlife/evolution channels I started watching about 6 years ago, maybe a bit more

between archaeology, zoology, gardening, and true crime, i don't have time for fiction in this phase of life. thanks for being part of my regulars, Lindsay!

The Paleozoic set of Yu Gi Oh cards are related to these creatures. They are a unique set too, being nearly all cards acted differently, being "trap monsters", and ended up supporting nearly any other deck someone can make thanks to being so.
