- A new animation discussing the evolution of mycorrhizal fungal relationships from SPUN and @FFungi made by the amazing May Kindred-Boothby with narration from @MerlinSheldrakeVideo.
Music made by @CosmoSheldrake from subterranean sounds recorded with microphones buried in the soil, and the bioelectrical activity of fungi recorded with electrodes. - Наука та технологія
This is one of the best, most concise, and visually articulate videos I've seen describing this incredible symbiotic relationships Absolutely beautiful
Idk how the algo got me here, but the simple and precise explanations with the amazing visuals are an amazing combination. What a gem!
I won't need to blabber for 5-10 min to explain these concepts anymore thanks a bunch
More people need to see this video! It's a piece of art! I will share it everywhere!!!!!!! 💪🏼🍄
The animation and narration is amazing.
I'm so glad the algorithm showed me this channel. Here's hoping you garner the attention you deserve! This is so good.
Ok, as you can see I am a professional grower of marijuana and I have been trying to get people to understand fungi and the myccorrhizal connection for years, YEARS. I have a very special fungi I grow (by accident) its a long story but just a scoop of this introduced to sterile soil and in w weeks you have the perfect media for growing specific strains. Anyways if people knew what I had they would flock to me with cash in hand but what I would love to do is send you a sample and have you do a workup, I think it's time I mass produced this stuff. It's a miracle what it does.
Beautiful, lovely animation, the textures really bring it to life. These shapes bring ME life. 🍄 🥰
I think the opening was a bit slow but I stuck it through. (I wanted to know how to pronounce 'mycorrhizal.') I watched it all. Great video!!!
Wow, beautifully drawn and told story. Congrats on your work, I will pass this on. Protecting the wonders of the natural world is the only way forward.
So all life owes it's existence to this relationship with fungi?
Yes. Or did you think that “god” created the Earth in 7 days? 😅
Beautiful message, poetic and revealing.
Beautiful work, beautiful message
This is such a gem of a video, the information concise, and your animations are really well done!

Fantastic work
That a crazy statistic about the length.....I'm calling BFS on that one ( I have no evidence to prove otherwise), but I do believe that this is a very informative and well put together video 🎉
Hello! Thanks for watching. Here's a citation for the fact about hyphal length in the top 10 cm of soil: www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/B9780128043127000024?via%3Dihub
Beautiful, absolute wow! moment when I learned that roots came after codependency 😳😳😳

What does prescribed fire in a forest, on short return intervals, do to this network?
We don't study this ourselves, but you could check out this paper about forests in the southwestern United States as a starting point: www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S037811271500078X
From the abstract: "Our data show that while the recurring burning or the season of the prescribed burning do not affect richness and diversity of the fungal communities, the frequent (two and three year interval) fires maintain a fire-adapted community that is distinct from those in unburned reference plots. We conclude that frequent prescribed burning maintains fire selected soil fungal communities that may support plant communities that are composed of desired fire adapted or fire tolerant species that dominate the frequently burned areas."
@@spununderground Thank you!
None of this is by chance. Beautifully created.
Fairy tales! Lol!
