i would suggest always hand starting bolts to avoid cross theading. I also echo the statement of the fellow discussing the pinion spacer and nut...there is also a usually a torque setting.
You do realise that the spacer is meant to be a single use spacer and the tension on the pinion nut is carefully calibrated so as not to over crush the tube and allow correct pinion pre-load. Looks a lot like you just ran it down with a rattle gun .... definitely not the best thing to do. Happy to share the relevant page from the 124 manual if you need it.
