    I recently purchased a 77’ - whenever I open my convertible top, the cloth part detaches from the body of the vehicle (at 16:25 is the step I’m talking about). How do you get it to stay even when it’s not closed and tight (glue, clamps,etc)?

    The beauty about being a X1/9 owner in 1979 was that you could buy Pirelli P6 tires in the stock 13 inch size and have all the tire you would ever need. Also I drove my off the lot and drove it like I stole it being a 19 year old kid. The brakes were more than enough and I cannot imagine needing more. The only thing that we all know about these sweet rides was lack of power. But the handling and braking was exactly what you needed.

      To get to the blower motor you’d have to pull the upper and lower console. You can test the fan by taking the switch out of the equation. Unplug your switch and you’ll see 3 wires: red/yellow/blue. You should be able to apply 12v directly to one of the wires to get the fan to go. If it is still weak, check the fan ground. The beauty of this cam arrangement is that the valves are transverse rather than inline with the cylinders. That vastly improves the port positioning. A wonderful engine.

    Do you ever come to Phoenix? I inherited a 1973 850 spider, trying to restore it but have little to no knowledge with fiat cars. Thanks for your instruction.

      I’d do it if I found a more project style X. Mine is so original that I would hate to alter that. Maybe one day though. You never know!

    How did you diagnose the fuel pump running all the time?

    • @GarageTimeTV
      @GarageTimeTV 2 місяці тому

      When the key is “on” you can hear the pump. That should not be the case.

      @@GarageTimeTV so how do you diagnose

    • @GarageTimeTV
      @GarageTimeTV 2 місяці тому

      @@user-ct4zz8di3r well you would hear it humming with the key on. The pump should only come on when the AFM (air flow meter) flap moves. You can test this by moving the flap manually to hear if the pump is running
