People are way too caught up with benchmarks and when for the average user it is more than enough. The main commenter understands what pixels are capable of with Tensor, and it's true, Google Assistant on pixel is quite a bit smarter and more capable than on other Androids. Google do not include UA-cam in their suite all the time. So except for that Material You is very well implemented. Battery optimization does not enable features, it only restricts unused ones. Also it is very well praised for how good it actually works. You may really have a different experience, but that's not common. Finally I never said Google is better than Apple. Apple implements features very well. But when it comes to smartness, Apple cannot compete because that is not their area of expertise.
I have a pixel 7 and I have continued conversation active in the google assistant settings.. but it stopped working a while back.. anyone have the same issue or know a possible fix?

The only upgrade seems to not have to say “hey Siri” for the rest… still feels like Siri is in its beginning years. There is zero reason why Siri is handy compared you do it in the same time by yourself. Tried numerous pages. Seems that a lot of pages are not setup for Siri to read 😅. Hoped that finally Siri would be better, instead want to trow your phone outside 😜 At the end. Google really understands your follow up questions and much better assistant. Almost a shame I have iphone 😅

That is the reason why I bought the pixel fold rather than the Galaxy fold. Future of AI, especially with Google will mean that the pixel will have a much better added value versus rivals. It is very impressive. As for iOS 17, it has improved dramatically, and, I dictated this on my iPad mini with few mistakes but not many more then I get on my pixel. On iOS 16 it wasn’t very good, so better late than never by Apple; it will improve with time, but I doubt it will catch up to Google any time soon
As you dictated, did you get punctuation? I find that Google's punctuation edition is very accurate. I wonder how apples is? Because I got all these punctuations automatically.

Siri embarrassed me when I took my colleague home the other day. My colleague asked Siri to play “you’ll never be one of us” instead of playing the right one Siri played “one of us “ and we tried several times still the same. 😅
But nothing was mentioned about security and how data is handled between the two assistants, why when you ask the assistant to read an article Siri can not because your data is handled different and Google immediately opened the macrumors page into another “window” to read it meaning it accessed the browsing data and sent it to the external servers. Not being handled on device like most of Siri requests.
I think it opened in a different page to show you the media controls, playback speed & translation options, and I think Siri didn't read because its a bug
This, Siri does most of the things on device while google assistant is completely server based and only uses on device as a fallback for some commands in case of no internet
That's not about security but privacy. You can set whether your data is processed only for providing the service or whether additionally the search activity can be used for advertising or audio snippets to improve their voice recognition. Due to both Apple's and Google's services not being open source, you have to trust their privacy policy or not
For me Beta 4 is almost perfect in everything, but even if you have a bug its still beta and I suggest sharing your feedback to Google for them to know about
The backend of google assistant is amazing and very capable. However, it looks ugly, glitchy animations, it also routes simple commande like calliny and setting a timer through the internet which is annoying when the connection is slow
Seeing you tell the timer on the Pixel to stop and it worked on the first try shocked me. I hate that feature so much. It never heard you because the alarm or timer song is stopping it from hearing what you are saying.

Google Assistant is better for reading articles and answering questions, but generally speaking, Alexa is a lot better than Google, is more conversational, it gives you more spoken information when you ask her any question, it’s more updated, it has games, (Google just removed them all from Assistant), and Alexa speaks more natural. In the other hand, last year Google Assistant really got worse, they removed a lot of features, it’s very short-spoken in any answer, it only reads you aloud a little bit of the information you ask and not all of it, the “read this page aloud” feature doesn’t work in Android tablets, and all its conversational actions and games went away. I don’t know why everybody keeps disparaging Alexa if it’s the best voice assistant out there 👍🏻, Google Assistant really sucks now, in devices that aren’t a Pixel

Google is better I admit but what keeps me using iphone with siri is the fact google assistant while phone is locked will come on and answer but won't shut back off unless you have screen set to like 10 seconds which is crap and leaves a window open. Siri does this right and Google needs to behave in this matter as well, don't know why it won't.
font style on android is really bad (word spacing is too narrow). If Google would change it by setting the default font system-wide with the google sans font, how beautiful android would be. 🥺

What was the shit was Windows Phone (which also knew what to read and what not to read, 10 years before iOS) - I still remember my hysterial laughter when I had the phone in Japanese localization and asked it to read an English page, it came out in a perfect Japanese accent speaking English 🤣 Just makes me all the more sad with the deprecation of Cortana they let all of that wither on the vine
EPIC FAIL by SIRI. Siri failed queries 27.3% of the time. On average every 3-4 queries couldn’t be completed. Imagine a world where your requests and questions don’t get done 27% of the time. It’s a productivity nightmare and Siri sadly doesn’t stand a chance agains Google.

One of the biggest plus points of GA is that it can recognize foreign words perfectly most of the time. Siri is so hapless in this regard.
