For the 1st example, Chat-GPT says that it can set a reminder. But it actually can't. It doesn't have access to calendar, to-do lists or reminders. Gemini Live can't control functions. But oddly, if you launch the floating window of Gemini or open the chat bot window, it can control some functions of an Android device. Google needs to fix this across the board and enable device controls no matter how you engage with Gemini.
When you ask Gemini through the bot functionality it actually routes the request through Google assistant. It even lets you know so on the top of the window. I guess that functionality isn't baked into Gemini live uet

Paying for this plan doesn’t guarantee immediate access to this model, as is still in alpha. The advanced mode allows for interruption during responses, similar to Gemini, with more realistic voice generation and faster replies, almost immediate. The interface also labels it as "advanced". If he had clicked the info button on the top right corner, he'd see this is the older model. I insist, He didn't claim it was the advanced one, so technically, there's no misinformation here. However, I've seen some comments mistakenly say this is the advanced mode, which it isn’t. Waiting for access to the advanced mode would be more beneficial, as it directly competes with Gemini Live and offers similar features. Keep up the great work! Emad.

The prerequisite for this is, of course, that you ask ChatGPT about it, which of course does not have the same function as a conventional reminder of an event or something similar.
It's worth noting that this video uses the standard ChatGPT voice, which is available to all paying subscribers. OpenAI is currently rolling out an advanced voice feature incrementally to users. As a result, this demonstration doesn't showcase the newer, more sophisticated ChatGPT voice option.

If Gemini Live said that it will remind you or have set a timer for you etc by accident, it is hallucinating until Google releases a new patch for it. If you want to do more, use Gemini and not Gemini Live(by pressing the waveform button when you activated Gemini)as it is a new feature. Gemini and Gemini Live are 2 separate entities. 😆👍

Gemini live do not have access to extensions nor is it multimodel as yet it is coming later this year and next. This was mentioned in Google IO and the Made by Google event. Seems like Gemini live is an add-on to the app.

This is the most exciting direction of AI for me, it makes natural sense for it to be an excellent support service, and to reduce our need to interface manually with technology. I think in the long term future using a UI, keyboard and using a mouse will be seen as archaic, instead motion tracking, gestures and voice leading the way, with a general AI taking care of what used to be UI navigation.
This is the basic ChatGPT though, the more impressive version is slowly rolling out. Ive had access to it once for a short time and it was really impressive. It also listens to interuptions because right now, your voice is being turned into text, then ChatGPT answers normally and turns that into speech. With the more impressive version, it's speech to speech.

Not necessarily a hallucination. If ChatGPT gets integrated to an operating system like windows or iOS it would be able to. I believe it will be integrated to windows in some time so the response it gave is based on the assumption that it's on a system it's integrated on
Yeah that's the most interesting part that the long dream of man and machine communicating at a very organic level seen in Sci-Fi fiction is actually a reality we can experience in our life times. I still think that people developing these things are going about it the wrong way, like forcing art creation etc. where it should be a way to have intelligent and organic conversations along with brilliant computing. And yes of course the service and tech be smart enough to understand organic human communication (not command based)
Just so everyone knows, Google has not integrated Gemini and Google Assistant yet. There are many functions that Google assistant does that Gemini does not. Google has stated that it will be integrating the functions of Google Assistant into Gemini soon. I'm sure Gemini will be much better once this full integration has taken place.

Google just added new sections in the Gemini app with "Assistant" like capabilities. People just have to activate which capabilities they want on. I always love your videos. They are very informative. But I'm not sure how I feel about the results. Gemini Live responses differ in detail and length of explanation based on the voice you pick. I found that Vega and Orion have a more balanced response with details and an average length in responses. Capella and Ursa seem to be a bit short or kurt with answers. Chat-GPT cannot control smartphone technology. Though it agreed to set a reminder, it can't. How do you account for the fact that Chat-GPT data is only accurate up to September 2023? Though Chat-GPT responses feel more natural based on your video, it is a year behind on its data. Just not sure I could give Chat-GPT the win knowing that it doesn't control tech and any fact based inquires could be out of date. Gemini responses could be fixed with asking it for more expansive answers or voice selection. But I think people's choice between the two will be selective and based on which one their circle of influence uses. We are all learning and will gravitate to those who have more experience and what AI they are using.

Love your channel but in this case you are comparing Gemini Flash with Chat GPT 4o, you can actually ask Gemini Live to switch to the far more powerful Gemini 1,5 pro and after giving you a warning that it will be slower in it's reply, it will switch to the more complex model

The problem with Gemini / Gemini Live is that Google wants so much to give the impression that it is not intrusive and does not use users data (which is false), that Google castrates its own product. Also, I think Google castrates Gemini standard (the one that's available for free on all Android smartphones) because it doesn't want it to be as good and well integrated on others Android smartphones as the Google Assistant of Pixels (yes, the Google Assistant of Pixels is different from the dumb Google Assistant available on others Android smartphones). I also tried Gemini and it keeps repeating the same msg again and again if i tried to make a long conversation and ask of suggestions. Chatgpt got an update which is more human like and also listens if i speak while he is talking but i can only afford a free version.
You are not using Advanced Voice from OpenAI, Advanced voice is significantly better but it's not widely available you have to be selected for permission
Google Gemini is a complete mess. They NEED to properly unify it into one entity. I will ask Gemini a question that has the word smart home in it and it tries to use Google Assistant and fails, telling me, "Sorry, I can't help with that. You can control smart home devices from Google Home app or device provider specific app." Like c'mon. It has also responded to "play Spotify" with "I can't help with that" on occasion. Meanwhile, ChatGPT is far more intelligent and if you pay, you might know about the complex GPTs that can access external APIs. The recent o1-preview is also far more intelligent but now lacks live web search. Gemini gets stuck quite often in loops when it's failing to complete a task.
I think the response is too long, I would like it to be clean and simple, I believe it will be more helpful. BTW, I would like to see a comparison for the free version of these AI assistants, since I expect most people will not pay for the monthly subscription.

Google is using its own system so literary paying $0 to anyone. Apple is using chatgpt and is paying $0 for sporadic usage. At somepoint Google will reap benefits of its own AI models and will keep improving capabilities as they desire. Effectively Google is moving towards vertical integration & apple will rely on third party partnerships
Just got my pixel 9 pro XL and found out that can't get the one year Gemini advanced for some reason. Apparently many people are having the same issue. After many years of Nexus and pixel I am really disappointed and ready to jump the ship to the iphone.... It feels and looks like one anyway. Hopefully they will fix the problem? Any suggestions? All the Gemini Assistant tasks are working but not all within Gemini Live. Just talk to the main Gemini Assistant and they work.

Gemini Live responses differ in detail and length of explanation based on the voice you pick. I found that Vega and Orion have a more balanced response with details and an average length in responses. Capella and Ursa seem to be a bit short or kurt with answers.
Chat-GPT cannot control smartphone technology. Though it agreed to set a reminder, it can't.
How do you account for the fact that Chat-GPT data is only accurate up to September 2023? Though Chat-GPT responses feel more natural based on your video, it is a year behind on its data.
Just not sure I could give Chat-GPT the win knowing that it doesn't control tech and any fact based inquires could be out of date. Gemini responses could be fixed with asking it for more expansive answers or voice selection.
But I think people's choice between the two will be selective and based on which one their circle of influence uses. We are all learning and will gravitate to those who have more experience and what AI they are using.
It appears that both Chatbot need to adopt each other strength or strong capabilities to address their own internal weak capabilities. 😎💯💪🏾👍🏾 5:14 I like how Gemini Live is able to ask relevant questions that is related to the main question, to narrow down or to deduce, to give the accurate answer to the main question. Such an approach will be better to eliminate or to mitigate the Ai hallucination problem, which will improve the accuracy and time wastage when interacting with those voice assistant tools. So ask pertinent questions related to the main question to hone in on the accurate answer.
Love your channel but in this case you are comparing Gemini Flash with Chat GPT 4o, you can actually ask Gemini Live to switch to the far more powerful Gemini 1,5 pro and after giving you a warning that it will be slower in it's reply, it will switch to the more complex model

So it seems that Gemini live hasn't updated to access as much as the regular Gemini. I just did your last test and it mentioned that the power supply could be an issue as well. Attempt the same questions using Gemini the regular way.

I really wish Google would (or could) acquire chat gpt and then just hook it up with calendar, Gmail, etc. job solved. In use, Gemini live is just like the other 2 or 3 layers of Google ai we can have - unbaked, almost unintegrated and actually hard to access the right level efficiently

The problem with Gemini / Gemini Live is that Google wants so much to give the impression that it is not intrusive and does not use users data (which is false), that Google castrates its own product.
Also, I think Google castrates Gemini standard (the one that's available for free on all Android smartphones) because it doesn't want it to be as good and well integrated on others Android smartphones as the Google Assistant of Pixels (yes, the Google Assistant of Pixels is different from the dumb Google Assistant available on others Android smartphones).
Ps: on the other hand, we have to admit that the interaction with Gemini Live is much more natural than the one with ChatGpt.

I also tried Gemini and it keeps repeating the same msg again and again if i tried to make a long conversation and ask of suggestions. Chatgpt got an update which is more human like and also listens if i speak while he is talking but i can only afford a free version.
You are not using Advanced Voice from OpenAI, Advanced voice is significantly better but it's not widely available you have to be selected for permission
Google Gemini is a complete mess. They NEED to properly unify it into one entity. I will ask Gemini a question that has the word smart home in it and it tries to use Google Assistant and fails, telling me, "Sorry, I can't help with that. You can control smart home devices from Google Home app or device provider specific app." Like c'mon. It has also responded to "play Spotify" with "I can't help with that" on occasion.
Meanwhile, ChatGPT is far more intelligent and if you pay, you might know about the complex GPTs that can access external APIs. The recent o1-preview is also far more intelligent but now lacks live web search.
Gemini gets stuck quite often in loops when it's failing to complete a task.
I think the response is too long, I would like it to be clean and simple, I believe it will be more helpful.
BTW, I would like to see a comparison for the free version of these AI assistants, since I expect most people will not pay for the monthly subscription.

Not surprised at Chat's performance as they were made by ex Google engineers.
Google is using its own system so literary paying $0 to anyone. Apple is using chatgpt and is paying $0 for sporadic usage. At somepoint Google will reap benefits of its own AI models and will keep improving capabilities as they desire. Effectively Google is moving towards vertical integration & apple will rely on third party partnerships
Just got my pixel 9 pro XL and found out that can't get the one year Gemini advanced for some reason. Apparently many people are having the same issue. After many years of Nexus and pixel I am really disappointed and ready to jump the ship to the iphone.... It feels and looks like one anyway. Hopefully they will fix the problem? Any suggestions? GPT said that he will remind you without knowing the date, which is a lie... Telling you that he will remember after you told him the date obviously doesn't mean that he will do it. It could be just words, just as before... You should be careful with that and check if he really will remember anything.

Chat gpt's word recognition is way good than gemini.chat gpt has courage to give direct single answer whereas Gemini leaves decision to ourselves or to learn from other way.but chat gpt's has one drawback that i found is it doesn't include voice interruption mode in free subscription but Gemini has.but in soo many other things it is best.
