  • In this tutorial I'll show you an effective way to recover skin texture from highlight areas of your subject while preserving the overall luminosity of the original image. You should be familiar with the concept of frequency separation before watching this tutorial.

Great tutorial. I have problems of over exposed photo and I know frequency separation, but I never thought of using FS technique to remedy the image. Thanks!

This was GREAT! Clear and to-the-point tutorial, obviously a beginner should go back to mastering the basics first before saying how hard this is. Thank you Michael, you ALWAYS save the day!

Hi, Michael. As always an excellent Tut. I've seen all your videos and only learned from you, how skin retouching or other photoshop works should be done. Thanks a lot and kind regards.

Hey, great video. I've been using subtract for frequency seep ratio but I noticed you used add, can you explain why? Thanks!

Another great tutorial. Quick question... Should pores be more prominent in highlights especially for beauty portraits?

As I state in the video, I assume you already know how to use frequency separation. If you do then you should have no problem with this.

Michael Woloszynowicz why unclip it? couldn't you just add a mask to the clipped layer?

Crap i'm into metal that exposes falseness and to me the final image looks just plain unnatural. I'm learning photoshop and this video has made me think fuck making photo's look blush and stick with animation. Modelling is also a real low down possession in my view. The only reason people pick up on blemishes is because their fake world has to be perfect with minute detail to their liking. Mostly women some men

Slow Down! I lost you completely when you ran an action without clarifying just what the action steps are!

+Matthew Lit ...btw...I am a photography educator. It would be helpful to reference your video on the action rather than zoom by it saying you assume we all know it. thanks.

Nice technique. I have to say though, the makeup in this shot is terrible.
