I’ve watched your channel first because of Cinnabon, but I am also a Midwest guy, about your age, who is also a Firearm Collector!! Love your channel, oh I just bought a Croatian steel mag for my Ak’s over the weekend.
@@LexCinnabon yea it almost looks like a Canadian maple leaf. Some of them have trouble hooking up to some AK’s but it fit in my Hungarian and cheap RAS 47. Collecting AK mags is kind of a fun hobby. Tell Cinnabon hi 🙋♂️
I'm a bit late to the party but a very ice collection of AK mags. Be that as it may, it's time for an update (pardon me if you already did an update, I just haven't found it yet).
The slab side polymer Russian magazine with the caliber stamped on it was the export version. The ribbed polymer Russian version was also exported to other countries but was also adopted by Russian Special Forces
Thanks for the info! I have seen photos of Russian solders with slab side 7.62x39 magazines, so I assume they have another version for them, perhaps the same as in the video or the same but without the 7.62x39 marking.
Lex Zastava Its certainly possible both versions of mags are still used by special detachments however the Russian Military arsenals stamp magazines with the caliber for commercial export only however some end up making it back in Russian Mil hands over time as long as their commanding units approve of it
One note I have jet to see magazine that was issued to soldiers on guard duty. It has 2 holes that were used to insert a safety pin that would limit mag to 20 roundand prevent loading a round into chamber if not taken out. Or course once taken out it couldn't be put back by guard.
I love looking at mags but I still drop mine in the grass at the range. I met an engraving guy at a gun show and he said he does that izzy triangle and the circle 10 logo all the time.... just a heads up for you collectors. Also saw plumb circle 10 on gunbroker for like $600. Keep your collection sir it may make you some extra cash one day.
Oh yes, same here. I have a range use can full of various loaded mags, almost as diverse and as valuable (some are the same) as shown in this video. Wow that's a nice price on the plumb circle 10 mag. I sold one for around $100 a few years back. Figures! Haha
Do you guys know anything about Chinese mags with no side plates? Are those rare at all? I'm looking at picking some up and wanted to know if you guys know anything about them.
@@Cejo871 I have a few videos on several Chinese mags, few of them are a few years back, check them out hopefully one of them will help you out to figure witch one you have 👍🏼🇺🇸

@@jonmcclane7433 Will do! Yes, I've heard of fitment issues. I have so many surplus Yugo mags, I never needed to try a Croatian one.
Fantastic video.... best ak mag vid ive seen.
The majority of these I have never heard of. Video delivers its title.

What are your thoughts on the Paratrooper and 1948 Slab mags’ performance and reliability?
You know anything about the Albanian flatbacks??
Does the Bosnian two rib mag have flat springs like the FDL boyscout mag?
No they don't. I have 2 of them and they have the normal spring
I saw some they Look similar to the finnish Polymer Mag but have a izmash arrow on them. Do you know. If they are original
I am surprised that there is not carbon fiber AK mags.

I do not, they pop up from time to time for around $150 each.
Lex Zastava oh ok I see, if you ever run into some more, can you please let me know, I would love to get my hands on one, thanks
It's poor audio and seasick video. Man, AK shooters just don't know how to aim. (their camera.)
I've thought about doing an updated version, this was one of my early masterpieces. Thanks for watching!
