Just did the headliner on my 93 extended cab 1 ton. I didn't remove ether rear side panels or the top trim panel. I did unbolt the seat belts and unclip the rear side panels then pulled them away from the b-piller and place a wedge between them and the body to hold them away at the top. With the visors, dome light and both the a-pillers trim removed and velcro loose i was able to slide the headliner to the front and to the base of the windshield. Removed and reinstalled the same way.
@@Germanmuscle I remember you saying that, I just didn't want people thinking that you would have to remove all of them. On a side note I redid the headliner on my 99 F350 crewcab dully last week also. Chevy came out easier but the base pad is far superior on the Ford.
@Gden1957 I had to redo my headliner 3 times. I used a vinyl material, but the heat melted the glue twice, and It was way too wrinkled after that, so I used a blanket that is swayed like. Still holding up nice
Thanks for the video. I had a dog that liked chewing his rope off, made the little chomper a stainless steel lead because he'd even chew through steel!
Gee ,my dog likes staying home, with a fenced yard he can stay OFF any restain ,you know just like us ,free to walk around. If I,d have to chain up a dog I,d not have one,who wants to be a prisoner? Too many people are too lazy to train their dogs.Pisses me off how people treat their dogs
I do upholstery and automotive trim. Where your using the old foam as pad.xo to speak. I would scrape that off very gently because the board is just flimsy fiberglass, if you scrape to hard it damages the fiberglass board causing divets to show in the new headliner. I will say out of all truck headliners for the most part .this one takes much longer to replace and has lots of breakable parts that I called this one , the worse one to do and costs customers almost double to replace. Js Tales lots of blood sweat and tears to make new..
I'm getting ready to take mine out! Great video and I know it will help! Did you go with black material when you replaced? I'm keeping my standard grey interior but going with the Wyoming state flag as my headliner material. My Sierra is two tone (black and IH red), so I think the flag colors will complement! Thanks for the vid!!
I ended up pulling off the black vinyl material because the sun warmed up the glue too much hard and get the sagging fold and wrinkle so I went to Walmart and got a $10 fluffy blanket that looks like suede and I glued that on it it holds up a lot better and the material is a lot lighter
I took all the interior pieces out scuffed them up with a Scotch-Brite pad cleaned it all up with 70% isopropyl alcohol sprayed them with adhesion promoter primer then paint and if you want you can clear coat but I didn't
@@Germanmuscle I have a similar interior on my 1990 Chevy, if I just left the headliner out with the bare metal showing up top, would everything still fit alright without it?
“Boutta hit my shit!” 😂 phew close one
🤣🤣🤣🤣
