My life has changed a lot since college, so I thought I'd share 10 life lessons I learned after graduating. I hope they're helpful. Feel free to share your experience in the comments! I'd love to read about it. ❤

      Hi Jenn!
I'm a graduating senior this semester, and I'm unsure of what life will be like after college. I keep thinking back to your helpful 10 Things I Learned in College video, and how you graduated and found such success after college!
I'm also a brand new baby UA-camr; your advice to keep moving forward and creating content that makes you feel good is something I think of almost daily!
Thanks for being such an inspiration!

Jenn you are my favorite youtuber because your videos are so genuine and heartfelt :) I am so happy in how far you've come since 2010 and curious to see how much you will grow! Thanks Jenn for making this video! It has definitely helped me a ton :) Being in college myself, I get anxious about by future, but it relieves me that you've been though the same things. I appreciate that you show us that you are an actual human being who has had hardships and isn't just someone with a perfect life 💕💕 Love you Jenn!!

Three years ago I was listless, directionless, depressed, going through a devastating break-up, moving back in with my parents in my small hometown in the U.S., and three years later I'm studying in one of the largest, most successful universities in London.
Things that I've learned: shit is hard, it's always hard, it doesn't get easier, but sometimes there are quick and painless jabs of happiness and fulfillment and opportunity that throw all of that bad stuff back into the dust. Taking a stab at something that you feel you couldn't possibly achieve can change your life forever. Give yourself some credit! Even living out my dream, I still have anxiety about the future, but all I can say is that if you can live one day reaching for your goals, you can live the next day too. Sometimes that's all you can do, live 24 hours at a time, working towards your dreams. Weird advice, but I'm still looking for my place in life, but I'm so much more fulfilled than I ever could have been with my ex in my hometown!
Jenn, you're an inspiration as always :) Keep your chin up!

I hope this doesn't sound too pretentious, but I'm at an Ivy League school right now, and when I was accepted I thought it was my dream come true (I'd grown up hearing "my colleague's son went to Yale and now makes 200k a year!" type of stuff). Now that I'm here, I think I can handle the academics, but I'm starting to realize that 1) I'm paying too much to not know what I'm doing and 2) everyone seems to be so pre-professional, like their degree is setting them up for something specific and I don't know if I want such a rigid life. I was accepted into an art program and visited over the weekend and met such amazing and positive people and turned it all down for this school, but I feel so unmotivated here because all of my classes are along the lines of "what classes will lead to a degree that'll let me pay off my college debts and support my parents later on." In high school, my one goal was to get into a good college, but now I don't have that same goal and I hate being so directionless. Sorry for the omgwtf long read, I just needed to get it off my chest because a lot of the time people tell me to "stop complaining, you go to an Ivy League" (In a lot of ways, I'm still grateful, I truly am). It's not all its cracked up to be, guys. I really envy the people who had the courage to follow their passions, best of luck to all of you~

Jenn Liao I'm sure there parts of your school that don't follow that rigid life! if anything you take those hard classes and do what you enjoy on the side (e.g. clubs/organizations). It sounds like a lot but you'll never know if you don't try! :) Who knows what will happen.

Jenn! I'm so so so proud of you, I've been watching you since the early college days so it's amazing to see how you've grown. This video was especially inspiring toward the end. It's so good to see you giving life advice because so many people are watching! You're changing many lives for the better :)
As for my story: I was also lost throughout college and had no idea what I'd do with my life. I knew I was smart and capable and I wanted to make a positive impact in the world, I just didn't know how. After I graduated, I decided to take a risk and set out to find a career in something that I'm super passionate about + good at, rather than settling for a job I knew I wouldn't love. *Best. Decision. I. Ever. Made.* In just two years, I got to work as a spokesperson & PR manager for a food festival (doing interviews with NBC, FOX, LA Times, etc) and while I was doing that, I continued my passion for music, released an album and performed throughout LA & NY. I got some hosting gigs and also acted in a sci-fi short film (which was super fun to film, dressed in full post-apocalyptic gear hehe). I traveled around the world on multiple trips with friends and family. In short, I discovered how to create a lifestyle that I absolutely LOVE. And now, I've started a blog and channel to share my experiences because I wish to empower others to dare to be bold, take a chance on themselves, and set out to create their dream life! I believe we all can and deserve to be our best self and live our best life, fully and vibrantly. ♥︎
Wow, didn't mean for it to be that long. But TL;DR - THANK YOU & KEEP DOING YOU.

I went through a huge slump after high school because i didn't know what i wanted to do, i didn't have a passion for anything, and i didn't have a support system through friends or family. I was pretty lonely. I took 2 years off to focus on myself. i worked retail and volunteered at a hospital in which i got to meet wonderful friends. I'm now working towards getting into the biggest cancer hospital in texas for diagnostic sonography. Wish me luck jenn! So proud of you and your channel development!

And you'll reach your dreams, I like how you took some time for you and to clear your head, build yourself and develop a passion for a job that sounds like would make you very happy. Like the others said, that is very inspiring. I've been quite sheltered all my life, in the sense my mother has helped me, like I'm not very good at hair, or cooking and when I'm out the house those are necessities I need (personally because I like to maintain my appearance and I love to eat a good home cooked meal)...I should take time off to learn that stuff, you're a big inspiration to me. You go girl! I'll be praying for your success but more importantly your happiness!

"What are you going to do next?" After graduation, after the internship, in the future, etc., this question never stops coming up. Well, I have no idea - and that's not a bad thing. I've graduated from university almost a year now and what I've learned is that it's okay not to have a plan, it actually opens up more doors as I stay open-minded. Opportunities will keep coming up and as you take one step, it leads to another. For those who are graduating and are worried you don't know what to do next year, just take your time to do something fun and explore different fields of work. Eventually, something will spark your interest and the rest will be history. :) Jen, thanks for posting this! Much love

Hi! I've watched this video so many times just to remind myself that the struggles I'm having with school right now won't last long. It has been very stressful having to deal with school projects and whatnots. I'm graduating in march with an associate degree in fashion design and marketing. I've been watching you since you (and Sarah) started but this is the first time (I think) that I'm commenting on a video. Just like you, I get really anxious and nervous sending or responding to emails, heck I'm literally sweating right now typing this comment lol. I just want to say that you've been a big inspiration to me in pursuing my dreams. In 2013, I decided I would take action and enrol myself in fashion school because that's what I really wanted for the longest time. I've also been blogging since '09 and I tried to keep up with my channel but I had to put those aside for now because I really want to focus on school for the most part. I would probably get back to blogging and making videos as soon as I get my fashion degree but I wish I'm as driven and motivated as you are. You're a great person! Keep doing you. I hope I get to meet you in person. :) Come visit the Philippines!

I quit my master degree last year. finally i admit i cant go on with it and i dont like my university environment anymore. BUT its not like i dont want to continue my study, it just i need a break time to re-organize myself back and deal with all the craziness in my life. I guess, sometimes, things didnt work out like you planned and hope for. Its hard to admit it, and i know people will look down at you and judge you because you didnt succeed. Damn difficult if you have depression. hurm, I just hope that people will be more understanding and help a bit like just shut their mouth every time they want to say something mean to a person facing situation like me. erm okies, have a nice day y'all ^ ^

I completely agree with you Jen, having graduated with major in the hard sciences, college has definitely helped me now only realize what I am capable of but also what I am able to overcome.
The best advice any post grad can give to student is that experience is key. If you don't put yourself out there and work hard for what you want, there is a line of other people that will gladly take that spot.
Even with having a degree in the sciences, there are so many specific niches in every field that one truly will not know where they will end up doing as a career.
Before I started school I was so determined to want to become a Veterinarian, I thought I had everything planned out. Then a few years later and few jobs in the field, I've found myself delving into a niche in my field of study, on the completely opposite side of the spectrum, that I never knew that I would be so passionate about. And know for fact that this will be what I will be doing for the rest of my life.
College not only gives one the opportunity to mature and become an educated adult, but there are some life lessons that are better taught in school, that is harder to gain else where.

i learned from a seminar that passion is something you do that you that you never get tired of. Something you do that makes you forget about time. I had a passion once with baking, and actually earned well from it. But deadlines and pressures at school, difficulty in time management, as well as responsibilities in the family business got me discouraged, putting that passion on the shelf and start prioritizing what needs to be done then. As some years pass, I'm more stable with my job and I'm thinking of rediscovering my passion as the person i've grown into now. I hope that i manage, budget, schedule, and prioritize better now.
Thanks for this video and for the reminder that passion and talents need to be shared. Keep it up Jen! 😊

I'm in college right now, and to be honest, I feel so lost, and I don't know what direction college is taking me to. Throughout this entire school year, all I've done is just go with the flow, try so hard to socialize with people despite of being very introverted and shy. I do have a couple of failing grades which is the reason why I have to attend summer classes. If I was given the choice to dropout or continue college, I might consider dropping out of school. I don't know if that decision is going to help me in the future but after watching this video, I'm somehow convinced to just continue college. Seeing how much you've grown and changed throughout the years has given me motivation to just keep doing what I have to do. My dream in life is to travel the world and go to places that I've been dreaming of since I was a kid and in order to do so, I guess I need to have a stable job. I know college is going to help me a lot in terms of socializing, interacting with people and keeping myself locked up in my room isn't going to do me any good.
All I want to say is thank you for inspiring me, hopefully in the near future (which is 3 years from now), I will have successfully graduated college and will slowly work towards the dream and the life I have always wanted

Stay in school! Altho your major may not be what you want to do in the future, with that degree alone, it will get you so much farther in life 😊 I'm also attending my 1st yr of college with one of my long-time friend and she's also struggling through the same thing. She always talk to me about dropping out which of course I do not encourage her. But I mean I know she wanna move out of her parent's house but she don't have a good paying job for that and she doesnt know her major yet so she's kinda lost but I think staying in school is the best option for her and you too. Let's all stay in this together and finish strong 😉

I felt that way too until I realized that the reason i felt so directionless is because deep down i really wanted a family. You know, kids, husband, and then devote myself to them. TBH i think most girls innately want that too but we're told to chase careers that will never fulfill us in the same way. So i go to school for now until i find someone to settle down with and center my life around them. Honestly, i rather build a life around a man's vision than my own personal career pursuits.

I went through a really hard time emotionally and mentally after I graduated, which affected me physically, and still am. If you had given up on youtube I would never have known about your personality, which is amazing and makes us all synch into a good mood. Your content is truly valuable for us even if it seems an 'online' ephimeral thing. You are adorable and I admire you so much. Life is not about grades, that is totally true. I remember on a video you uploaded a time ago, when you said you used to think of yourself as the grades you obtained. Now that I am in college I do feel the same sometimes; lost and only valuing myself depending on the marks I get. Your growth as a person and the advice and tips you give make you my favorite youtuber. Honestly, thank you so much!

My advice is, take one step at a time. If you're just finishing high school, things are going to be super screwy. You're just finishing a super important (and incredibly stressful) stage of your life. Finding a college is even harder (and more stressful). I'm not saying this to get you down, just stating facts! My best advice is to try everywhere, apply everywhere, even places you don't think will take you. Some will fight for you, some won't want you at all. Take Jenn's advice and have a look at everything you like doing, even if it's something vague and small and you think might be unimportant. Family will always wonder what the hell you're doing with yourself, no matter how old you get. You're probably question yourself too, but there's nothing wrong with that. It's a sign of growth. Give yourself little goals, even daily, weekly goals for little things. Life falls into place when you work hard at anything and set your sights high. You can't know where you want to climb if you don't look as far up as you can!

The best advice i can give is just go with the flow. Don't worry about the destination and enjoy the process. Learn, grow, live. IT's ok to be uncertain and its ok to change your mind. Eventually you'll find a man and you'll be able to build that life with him that you both want.

    • @magimermaid2crazytin
      @magimermaid2crazytin 9 років тому +3

If it helps, I started out at a community college, not only to save money but because I was uncertain on my major, from there, took classes from theatre to science and picked out what I enjoyed. From there, I had the idea of what I wanted to major in, and looked up 4-yr universities that I could transfer class credits to/ what I needed to take. Got into the 4-yr and now I'm in my final year of college.
...It's pretty much what Jenn said.
But yeah, if you're uncertain, community college is a good step, that way you'll still learn plus save a few thousands from tuition. College isn't easy, it's pretty stressful, but it's practically prepping you for the real world out there.
Don't worry, there are a lot of people who are in your shoes. But go and get that education, because now a days, a bachelor's degree is most helpful and important thing when job searching/career goals.

I personally broke down 2 days ago because I couldn't handle the uncertainty of what career I was going toward and what I was doing in college to really help me out with it. However, after talking to some friends, writing down my thoughts and visually seeing how I felt, I began to accept that I still have so much time to decide what to do. Though sometimes I feel that I wasted my first two years of college doing multiple things that may not help me in the future, I too do not regret going to college because it taught me the importance of discovering my passions, pursuing them, believing in yourself, and accepting the unknown. I look forward to the future, and your video gave me more hope and confirmation that everything will be okay. So thank you soooo much

+Dung Luu It'll be ok :). Just remember to take steps at a time, focus at the job at hand and then move on to the next instead of worrying about the future. Doing things that way helps to be able to work faster and be a bit stressful. Also, instead of worrying about the pressure and using that to drive you, you should focus on how that would benefit YOU, because after all, it is not them who will be living with you for the rest of your life, but yourself.

+Dung Luu I've graduated...and I've on top of it done my MSc and I'm still broke and don't have a job. So I'm working in retail. I feel what you feel because my family expects so much of me and its distressing seeing people younger or the same age as you doing better.
I will give you one advice, make one of your hobbies into a job. I occupy my time when I'm thinking negatively either painting or writing up rough drafts.
Also you won't be alone in the boat always.
Eventually, sooner or later you will get a job and you'll slowly work your way up. Don't reject a job because its low paying, take it up and then as you get better opportunities keep progressing. If i had given up I wouldn't have taken small placements here and there which actually build up my experience.
      And Good luck!!

Something I learned in college: Conversation is never one-way. It is transactional. Thus you actually do have some control over the person who is in front of you. When you learn to bend yourself a certain way, you'll find yourself bending other people to your will and they won't even realize it.

My passion is learning about South Korean language and culture. There is just something about the culture that clicks with me. When I speak the language, I feel so happy. Sometimes when I was younger, people made fun of me or thought it was weird that I loved another culture so much. But I've learned to ignore the haters and fully immerse myself within my passion, which allowed me to receive a scholarship to study abroad in South Korea at a prestigious university. I hope that everyone just continues to do what they love, no matter what it is. :)

I am now a 21 years old college student and I have to say that I'm not proud about myself. Mainly because I've wasted three years of my life NOT studying for subjects and it put me in the situation I am now. There are times when I feel really lost but there are also moments when I feel very motivated and ready to begin a project... But there always seems to be something missing... God Jenn. i have been following you for ages, but i never commented - time to change that! You definitely hit the nail on the head on this one! i study media science and sometimes, while we are talking bout films, culture, music and games, i am thinking to myself that i waste the time i should learn stuff like higher mathematics or so with things which are meant to be pure hobbies. But indeed, I DO learn these facts which, how you said, help me in conversations - they take the function of a gate opener and they qualify me for creative jobs as I am knowing the background. It is also great to hear what I hope: That your specific degree doesn't matter. And I believe this is right (especially for B.A. degrees). We learn soft skills, and this is as important as knowing hard skills. And sometimes, when it seems like nearly everyone who is studying B.Sc. is joking about you/B.A. for not really learning sth, not getting a job in the future, yadayada, it helps to hear exactly what you said. So thanks for reminding me :) And keep on doing what you do ❤

Here is my story : I graduated in 2012. I have a BA in English Language and Literature. Then as it was a trendy job, but not my dream job, I got courses for teaching English for one year and paid a really good amount of money but I knew that I would not work as a teacher at all. God, the hardest time of my life was after graduation. I was truly confused about what I wanted to do, and everybody was looking at me like, "You have always been successful and your friends are all working but why are you not working?" and whenever I came across someone on the road or somewhere, they were like, "So when will you start working as a teacher?" I was like, "I am not going to work as a teacher..." and they were like, "Why? That is the most ideal job for a woman." Stupid ideas... The pressure they put on me was so massive at that time and I was always feeling confused, lost and totally in the middle of nowhere. I was also worried that I had no job. Then I decided that worrying would not bring any success at all so I needed to act up and go meet new people somewhere. I applied for jobs. I went to interviews. I met new people and then my circle got bigger. I even got many offers to work as an English teacher and I did for a while. But then I realized it was not the ideal job. I love a more relaxed and creative kind of job so I decided to work as a freelance translator then. Now I am working as a freelance tranlator. When I say to people that I am a freelance translator, they are like, "So you are unemployed?" I gave up explaining and let them think what they want to. :D I am not really sure if I will ever be doing this job forever but right now I am content. I will decide what I will do later. Anyways... Great video, Jenn. You are one of the best inspirations on youtube! :)

I've been pretty dead set on what I want to do for college. I love movies and photography and storytelling so I thought, hey, I want to study film and direct movies and stuff. But I don't find myself making short films in my free time like most kids do with that interest. The idea really scares me because I don't think I'm good at that and it doesn't get me all that excited. My aunt told me in a letter that ever since I was young she saw me as a performer. I love playing my ukulele and guitar and vlogging is a lot of fun for me. Singing and playing guitar in front of my school at the talent show was the first time I had ever done anything like that and I LOVED it. As soon as I left the stage I was exclaiming to everyone how amazing and fun it was. I've never done any acting in theater, though I loved being a part of the shows on the stage crew. I've always thought it would be fun to audition for a role but the serious actors at my high school and time commitment really freaked me out. I go to the plays and think about how I could be up there, how fun it would be to perform, but heading off to college next year I'm worried that I've missed my shot and I'm not really sure what to do. I know I'm good at photography and I really enjoy the craft, but I don't know if being behind the camera is what I want to do with my life and I'm terrified that I've missed so many opportunities because I didn't get involved with theater sooner.

I think I can somewhat relate to what you're saying, I'm in theatre too as an actor. I started auditioning for shows the beginning of my junior year and I started to regret that I hadn't joined earlier, but its never too late! If there are any auditions open just go for it! And there will be plenty of opportunities to act outside of high school if you chose to go down that path, don't worry! Instead of worrying about what opportunities you missed (like I did), just delve into whatever passion, whether it be acting, teching, or photography. As long as you love what you're doing and you have visible progress, everything else will fall into place! Good luck!

I feel the same way. I want to act/sing but I'm not in theater or haven't been going on auditions. It's like I want my dream to come true but am not doing things at the moment to actually make it come true.
Also, my parents told me they can see me perform too. It's good to know I am not alone in figuring out what I want to do in life. I'm so lost.
I don't know if I want to take the performing route or if I could find something else I have a passion for.

im going to graduate high school in next year March but im pretty unsure about my future. im currently studying science stream in high school but im not interested with things that related to science at all. i strongly believe that i have much more potential in liguistic field, yet my passion is still dancing. become a dancer was once an ambition of mine until im 15. my dad was like "u cant earn for living with dance in malaysia". so i didnt think abt it anymore after then. but this video suddenly give me such a big inspiration n motivation in pursuing dream but not living.
will definitely think about dancer n dancing again now since its still my fav thing that i enjoy the most no matter how. i knew i really love dancing bc whenever i got opportunity to stand my feet on stage n dance, all those sweats are literally like a booster that driven me n im so passionate abt it.
    thank you jenn.♡

Hello, I'm also from Malaysia, I have a passion in the fashion industry but my parents were also like " you can't earn a living like that, you need to pursue a profession job" which makes me sad and very unsure with my future. Going to uni next month is making me so nervous but I hope you don't give up on your dreams bc I don't plan on giving up mine x

Thank you so much for making this video! It's been really helpful! I'm at the point of trying to figure out whether I want to do graphic design or teach. Since senior year, I moved to college with a commitment to study in graphic design. I'm in my fourth year now and had a point where I thought maybe graphic design is not for me. I don't consider it as a passion, just more so of a hobby. But it's also something I enjoy doing. I wanted to teach because I have more experience in that and I love working around kids, and also because it's a very giving and rewarding job. So I'm kind of struggling between the two at this moment now.

I live in Holland so we don't have college. Just a high school for when you are 17/18 years old and of course middle school. I have a high degree now but I'm not gonna go to high school after I pass my exams this year. My talents are dancing and talking in front of people. I don't have an opportunity to use my talents here without going to high school but I mentally and physically can not do it. My dream is to travel and I like studying English and so I will probably work in a store for a few years and when I have the money I want to go to LA and see what I can do there. I don't even care if I have to sleep rough, I need to be in LA and try to pursue my dreams. If you have any tips, please, let me know. I love your videos!

We do in fact have college in The Netherlands. University, HBO and MBO are the kind of colleges you can attend here. I think you confused the term middle school with 'middelbare school', but middle school is in fact the first 2 or 3 years of 'middelbare school' and high school is the last 2 or 3 years :)

OnenessLoveEquality DONUTCARE I think this is SUCH an important message. Sometimes you'll have your heart set on a certain path/dream and life throws you a curveball that seems to make that dream impossible. It's not necessarily the case, often you'll come to realise that you can realise your dream in a totally new way or in fact do something ever better than you'd thought of. It's great to have goals and aim for stuff, but just because you don't attain those exact goals, it doesn't mean it's game over. Always try to keep positive in the hardest situations and hold on to what you can and don't regret it when things don't work out. Like they say, when life shuts a door in your face, there's usually an open window close by. xx

I just think it is so cool how I've kinda grown up with you, and I'm sure many of your followers feel the same way. I'm now 20 years old and I'm almost done with my AA. This video inspired me to send some love and appreciation your way because it kinda of helped me to stop stressing. ... and what if you aren't passionate about anything.

    • @Kimmehface
      @Kimmehface 9 років тому +86

sometimes passion doesn't come in the form of a job or an activity- you can be passionate about building friendships/family relationships, passionate about travel/vacation, anything really! Society makes us feel like what we do defines who we are but that isn't true. People can be unemployed and still have passions or maybe just have a job that's "eh" and still have things that are important to them in their personal life or spiritual life. You do not need a dream job or even a great job you love to live a great life- employment isn't everything in life and in fact, most people are employed just to fund their other hobbies or their personal life- or maybe to support their family. WHATEVER is important to you can be a passion and it might not be something you do but something you are or something you believe in. My advice as someone who has felt the same way would be to start thinking about who u are and whats important to you. If you really don't know, maybe try writing in a journal everyday- it could help you discover yourself good luck!

    • @chibisaru
      @chibisaru 9 років тому +55

if you aren't passionate about anything, pick what you're good at. Most likely you feel happy doing something you excel in. By starting to study a subject or working in a field you have interest in and enjoy is a great step forward. As you work longer, either your interest will grow and turn into true enjoyment and passion or you'll find out that subject really isn't your cup of tea and you can move on to a different interest and try again. There's no shame in not being a crazy passionate person who is all fired up and has the next 75 years planned out down to each minute. Take your time and test your interests. As long as you put in all your effort, you'll find something you enjoy doing.

    • @Taravat76
      @Taravat76 9 років тому +9

Ask yourself what are you good at? What did you love to do as a child? You can also take career development courses and read books on this subject. I can relate, as I had interests in so many different things, but not one thing specifically. Eventually, making that decision on your major shouldn't be the end all to what you have to do as Jen mentioned, unless you are going into science, healthcare, or other long term degrees. I hope that is somewhat helpful :)

Jenn, this is my first time leaving a comment on your video, I know, it's a shame, but I guess I just wanted to confess!
I'd love to let you know that I really loved this video and made me think a lot about my life. I'm 25 years old(in Korea, where I live, 26) and I just have graduated college since I took two years off.
Usually I'm a very confident person but I couldn't help but feeling weak and unimportant after finishing the last semester, I guess it was because I didn't know what I really want to do for a living. Actually, it's been hard because I do know what I love to do, which is drawing, however I can't do that to afford living. And I'd been still struggling with these thoughts until I saw this video.
I know, you might gonna say you're not a life tutor and not all the things you said on this video is the answer. But it kinda was. I really wanted to let you know.
I said doing small things everyday will lead you to learn to conquer(I'm not a native, so please understand my poor re-phrasing your words :-)). It helped me see things clearer. I should start to share my drawings with other people. Uploading it online or anything.
I would like to write down all the things that I'm thinking, these emotional changes, but too bad that my English isn't very good. But I'm sure you felt it all.
You have no idea what kind of changes you just made of me from this video!
I'll be really happy to know that you read my comment. I really will.
Love you, Jenn! I love your smile, passion, and words!
    You really made my day.
Thank you, and I respect you as a passionate life-changing contents creator!
Lots of hugs to you, from Korea, late at night.

I don't usually comment on UA-cam, but I'd really like to express this to you, as it's something I wish I'd been told after high school. Some people are lucky enough to know their passions, interests and direction in life early on with absolute clarity. For others, it's a lot harder and it takes a little or maybe a lot more time, and that's okay. We are constantly changing, which is a beautiful thing, because there's always a chance that you'll stumble upon something you really love. Don't let it get you down, because you're definitely not the only one!!!! :)

She majored in Communications actually. Often times once you've finished taking the prereqs and upper divs for your major, you'll have room to take upper division electives which are still required, so why not pick a class that sounds interesting to you just for the heck of learning about it? :) Most of these electives are cross-listed too which counts for units for your major anyways. Undergrad years are a good opportunity to explore what classes they have to offer in supplement to what you're majoring in.

Patricia Orkona clothesencounters Whoa, hiphop is not just some pop culture. Don't judge hiphop based on what you see today in mainstream media. All they do is just take the name Hip Hop and brand it in their own way to make money. Hip Hop is a way of life, a culuture that was created based on peace, love, unity, and having fun. Streets of Bronx NYC back in the 70s was no place to live due to poverty, violance, drugs, and many other gang related activities. The purpose of this culture was to replace violance, and inspire kids to keep them off the drugs with the artistic elements of Hip Hop (4 main elements: bboying (dance), DJing (music), MCing (or Rapping in today's mainstream term), and graffiti (painting). The whole idea was to have people battle through dance and music instead of guns and knives, and inspire kids to learn the art instead of doing drugs. Just thought I would briefly share my two cents :)
