Hi Kuga. You should check out Manchester if you're still in the UK. The first ever proper railway station in the world is still there. It's called Liverpool Street Station and it's part of the Museum of Science and Industry. You can get the tram - or Metro Link as it's called - to Deansgate and it's a short walk from there. Happy Travels :)
Had the same thing happen on LNER from Kings Cross to Edinburgh. I had paid an arm and leg for first class tickets for my wife and I. After being pushed everywhere by a pissed off crowd for 2 hours we were barely able to get on the last car where we had to stand almost the whole way. Someone else enjoyed our First Class seats.
Looked more like couscous to me, isn’t bulgur a bit larger grains? Couscous is very fine grains like in the video. Either way, think they’re similar in how they’re used a lot of the time, and both are nice
Oh... this station brought back so many memories. I got to go here for a trip and rode this very same train from London to Paris. I remember I didn't feel well. I was tired, my pain was flaring up again, but I saw this station and my breath was stolen straight from my lungs. I felt like I'd stepped into a piece of living art. I'm grateful that I get to experience this memory again, and I hope you enjoy London!
It was not rice, it was semoule (wheat). I would have LOVED to invite you to our home ! next time you are our guest if you want ! We live on the west coast of france. Love you !
Most folk in the UK at least, use the French name Arc de Triomphe, and would call the road around it a roundabout, not criticising just saying. Loving this series BTW, I live in Glasgow and I saw you tease the Caledonia Sleep in part 1 of this series, it's great that you got out of London, at lot of tourists make it no further than London.
Thanks Kuga for share this nice video. Maybe I miss some more takes about toilet, cafetería, wagon's lugagge and other kind of ammenities on board. In any case, thanks again for your good job. Regards from Europe.
Another great train trip vid. Thank you. Pity about the challenges at the start, but travel can be full of unexpected adventures. You did well. I look forward to the next vid on the Caledonian Sleeper.
Fun fact, I personally know a person that this train travels almost exactly as in your thumbnail. Thorugh a glass 'tube' so that you can see the water around you :D
Hello Kuga, great and accurate video. Eurostar is generally reliable but things can go wrong. Problem is that each Siemens unit can accommodate almost 900 passengers so when there's a delay the queues soon build up. Paris Nord is especially crowded and there have been some really horrible congestion there over the years.
Welcome traveling in Europe by train. You know why I like to watch your videos? Cause everybody in the world would like to travel by train like in Japan. Clean, fast, on point, no chaos…the other way round we travel by train in Germany. I hope you did not take the train in Germany. Good luck 🚂
I recommend booking tickets online and well in advance for european trains, most of them are on dynamic pricing so you get cheaper fares that way and you can usually pick your seat on a coach layout too. You got some bad luck there with a train being canceled and causing a chain reaction of confusion, I don't think that happens very often. The trains are great, comfy, smooth, fast, everything you want :D
The town i live in is well connected to the Eurostar, and I have been to Paris a few times by train. Once my family went on a special deal where the business premium seats were cheaper than standard. we had no idea they included "free" food, so we started eating sandwiches we had prepared before the trip, and then the food was brought out! and sorry for the long queue. Now that the UK is no longer part of the EU, all of us clogg up the already busy International passport lines :( So glad you continued your Journey into Scotland. It is breathtakingly beautiful, and not enough tourists know its secrets
The seats were cheaper because reservations systems *can* be slow to update. It's the same for UK rail where first class Advance can , occasionally, cost less than its standard class equivalent.
I used to travel frequently on the Eurostar as I lived in france for a year. The first few times on this route, but then I discovered it was easier for where I was going to in France to go to Lille and change there. Great series and looking forward to your next installment.
YES!! You did take the Ecostar train!! :D Bad thing about the delay though. Forgot to tell you to buy your ticket online with anticipation as it is difficult some times to buy tickets for the same day travel. Glad you made it!! It brought me some memories!! Thanks for the ride! :)
How awesome to get no one across from you. I’ve found paying for the higher class on rail over there is quite cheap when you compare the exchange rate. Not sure abt the yen though. 😊 I’ve been through Kamnon Tunnel between Honshu and Kyushu in 2006. My first underwater tunnel. Quite a thrill. Love your journeys thank you 🙏 🙇♀️
Here are some possible reasons for your delay: 1) It's August - that's peak holiday time for most people. 2) Many people wanted to travel after the pandemic which brought even more demand for seats, and hence the high prices (always better to book in advance) 3) The rail/airline/station/airport operators/border control had laid off a load of staff during the pandemic, but started selling tickets immediately as soon as they were told the covid restrictions were being lifted, but without hiring enough new staff in time to cope with the demand (and they offered former staff the chance to return but for less money, so they all told them where to stick it). 4) The heat of summer can affect the railway lines and they have to run the trains at a slower speed. 5) You're travelling to the UK. We tend to keep people waiting. Good that you made it over here though, and I'd love to return to Japan some day and try the trainlines that I have seen on your channel! I'll be taking the Eurostar again at the end of Oct.
My mum & my brother accidently got put in Business Class last month, they loved it! I always go Standard Premier as Business Class is stupidly expensive and the only difference is the food, not the seats, but I'm still jealous!
I'll be headed to London and taking the Eurostar to Paris and back next month. Also spending 4 days at Disneyland Paris. Then back to Japan in January. This is a nice preview.
It's possible that some of the Standard/Business Premier passengers on earlier trains accepted a downgrade (and maybe a partial rebate) to keep their departure time, which would explain why the Premier section on your service was not 100% full. (I say possible because I don't have inside knowledge as to what Eurostar do in a crisis, this is just a guess on my part.)
London is one of the cities that most people want to go to, in fact, if I was good at English when I was in school, I would have had the opportunity to continue my studies in the United Kingdom because many Malaysian students continue their studies in Europe, especially in the United Kingdom, but when you remember the cost of living it's high there, so we have to owe more than 50 thousand ringgit, but it's okay if you work there, it's easy to pay back the debt because the currency there is very high value when converted to ringgit
Worked in London for a bit.....fond memories of passing through King's Cross Station every day on the way to the office in Hammersmith. Thanks for the "Chunnel" journey, KT! ❤😍
Thanks for watching as always!

Welcome to Europe. Sorry our trains and stations are so dirty compared to spotless Japanese. 😉
It was Cous Cous not rice :)
Yeah... it looks like Cous Cous to me. It's more like a pasta than a rice.
It was cool of the station to let everyone have freebies on the seats due to a delay.
Wow. Just wow. I felt the excitement on this one. Paris. London. Ahh you are so lucky!! Thank you for sharing for those of us who dream of travel.
The minute you said, “we are traveling under the bottom of the ocean”, I felt claustrophobic! You deserved the better seat 🎉🎉
You'd not have noticed it, especially if you've been through many tunnels.
@@TheRailwayDrone gotcha!
We travelled this, loved it, in the opposite direction.
Thanks for taking us along Kuga. Be Safe and God Bless

Best time to visit Europe is May or September and October.
Weather is good and the crowds are thinner. Good video once again 🎉
What you ate on the Eurostar was tabbouleh made with bulgur (wheat grain), it's mostly found in North African and Middle Eastern cuisine :)
And it's delicious. At least the versions I've eaten are.
@@GWN90 My first thought, too
@@GWN90 yeah I would have called in Couscous.
@@GWN90 Jve never had bulgar, but I too was thinking it was couscous. Yum!

Whoever did the English translations in Gare du Nord appears to have learned the language from old American movies. 😀
The best way to get to the UK from Europe! Glad you got here 😷
You mean uk france? The Uk is already in europe 😂😂😂
Oh... this station brought back so many memories. I got to go here for a trip and rode this very same train from London to Paris. I remember I didn't feel well. Thanks for consistently uploading such intriguing videos, your hard work is appreciated by this one 😀

I'm glad you got a good seat after the lengthy stand at the train station. I can't wait for your Caledonian sleeper experience!
What a combo! Eurostar and the Caldonia Sleeper. Lucky you 😎 Thanks Kuga!
Thank you Kuga for taking us with you on your Europe journey! Can’t wait for the next episode!
Can't wait for the next video you'll drop! Always looking forward. Thanks for this!
I'm so paranoid when it comes to travelling, I usually end up getting there a few hours early and just chilling 😉
Au moins, les relations entre les Français et les Britanniques se sont améliorées depuis que Jeanne d'Arc a été brûlée vive sur le bûcher de Rouen.
You received a great education in what trains are like in the UK before you even got there! Overpriced, overbooked and often cancelled.
Lots of fun following your travels in Europe. Looking forward to the sleeper one.
Traveled on Eurostar to Brussels with my wife last month. Your film captures the process very well.
Very nice to see this train journey
It's beautiful and thrilling
Thanks for sharing.
Hoping for the next.
can't wait to to visit Paris and take this train to London

I Love Paris and London. Thank you for uploading it.
Excellent video with a touch of grace, just perfect❤️💕 thank you for solving many doubts I was having.
Thank you Kuga☀️
Can’t wait for the next trip☀️
I did this trip once years ago and watching this brings me back some good memories🙏❤️🤩
The food is okay, I think. I love watching videos like this ❤

7:02 Yes, delays always in whole Europe, it's not like in Japan ☺
Great trip, finally you try the Eurostar, despite some chaotic at departure area.
Wow, you took the Caledonian Sleeper to Scotland?! That's pretty awesome! Looking forward to new videos!
Now the Cal Sleeper will have a new operator from June 2023. Scottish govt has just terminated its agreement with current operator SERCO.
That's couscous. Kind of similar to rice. It's very popular in the Mediterranean and North Africa.
I love this silently language ❤❤🙃🙃

Oh! They provide some good Welsh water (Radnor) with your meal from Paris on the Eurostar!
Good videos, thankyou very much, looking forward to the sleeper one, maybe try gwr sleeper too after visiting Inverness and skye 😉

Hello from France 🇨🇵 😊
Fun fact regarding tunnels the longest road tunnel in world is actualy Lærdals tunnel with around 24 kilometers

Great!
I thought I would see the water clearly in the tunnel
I think the meal was quinoa. It's a cereal from South America, very nutritious.
Safe travels….😊
The exterior of the train looks abit rusty maybe because of going under sea 🌊 and the interior looks clean and beautiful 😍
Indyvaar Mani. I can assure you that the rust is not caused by Sea water. Hopefully you shouldn't see the sea if you do you are in big trouble.
That's great!

When I went on Eurostar last week I had priority I did not wait 5 hours in that long line haha
I think you have the misfortune of expecting other countries train service to be as good as Japan's.
It wasn't rice, but cous-cous. Essentially, a type of wheat grain.

It was my birthday yesterday then
Thanks for the cool videos, what gear do you use to record these? Cheers
That’s bulgur wheat with some peas and carrot. It’s a healthier alternative for rice
