I did a color change on a pair of western boots, from tan to brown and wow the difference is amazing.

That's a beautiful watch. The seiko turtle has such a classic and distinctive look..especially the older model. I love the monochromatic look. I have the newer model prospex, PADI turtle with the Pepsi bezel. A watch I will keep, just love the cushion case and over all style.

@@TheElegantOxford i waxed my cxl thursday boots, and it has been protecting it really well. all the scratches and marks come out immediately as they are just in the wax.

I recently purchased a pair of Thursday Captain Boots in Brandy and liked them. I use Black Rock leather treatment to moisturize them, which works well. I have been using Tarrago shoe creams to polish them. I sent you some questions last week, but I am still waiting to hear back. Thank you for assembling this video.

I would love to see you try and get a mirror shine finish on a military type boot (like the Haix airpower or similar), I'm trying to achieve this by following your guide and i'm getting anything but a mirror, otherwise keep the videos, coming, it's really satisfying seeing you work those shoes!
Man those Eagle Countys have some strange creasing. Almost like my Beckett Simonon shoes, which are not of the best leather. Those Thursdays look just like my Iron Rangers, pretty impressive. I use mink oil on mine, gives them that nice buttery glow. Thanks for more videos, you’re a life saver.

Good info. I basically just brush off dirt and use saphir greasy/oily leather cream. Venetian cream if I want something with tiny bit of wax to protect it. If you have a natural finish cxl and don’t want to darken it don’t use mink oil.
For my Sterling boots from AE and my Thursday Captain boots I use Saphir Oiled Leather Cuirs Gras works really well
I use Saphir Renovateur and it works perfectly for greasy/oiled leather boots. It gives a bit of shine, but after few days of drying, boots start to look natural and rugged just like I like them to look :D
I also have the same watch and have replaced the plastic/rubber strap with a very nice hand made waterproof cordovan leather watch strap. Not only does it feel more comfortable it looks fantastic.

Huh, I got a mirror shine on my Thursday Captains with no fuss. It's durable, too, I did it like a month ago and no issues. I have them in the brown Thursday chromexcel-like leather.
Now i know why my casual boots are sticky and wierd. I have been putting wax on them for protection. 🙈

Do you find similarity between Saphir oiled leather and Saphir cordovan cream?
I have Saphir greasy leather cream (bottle). It feels like a watered down cordovan cream.
Recently picked up a pair of TBC in their Thursday Chrome Brown. Noticed some blotches on the boot. Thankfully it's in a spot that's not easily seen so it's not really worth the hassle of exchanging them. Would the Saphir cream help even out everything on the boot?
I have a three piece caimen tail boot. A stitch holding top and bottom vamp came undone. If they were condition once weekly could that cause stick failure?

Do you use water with saddle soap? I use warm water to make it foam up like shaving cream.
I use two damp cloths to remove the saddle soap. The first cloth, is used to remove as much as I can, and then i rinse it out.
The second damp cloth is used as final rinse cycle, to remove the last remnants and traces of saddle soap.
I let them dry for several hours, usually 12-24 hours overnight.
Preston. Could you potentially use cordovan cream on chromexl? They're both neatsfoot based?
Great video! Speaking of Thursday, I recently got their rugged and resilient burnt copper Vanguards. I decided to try conditioning with neetsfoot oil before wearing them out, but all it seemed to do was take off some pigment in the areas I applied it. Any idea what happened or where I should go from here? I was intending to make them resistant to rain and maybe darken them up some, but I seem to have only done the opposite.
try mink oil, but use the solid kind. i found some at my local grocery store. its good for making leather more supple, but it gives it a "greasy" feel until its all absorbed, which in my experience takes about 2-3 days. it also darkens the leather significantly, and if you hate it, a good saddle soap takes care of it.
its a rugged leather and already is resistant to rain. that leather really doesnt need any products. just wear them hard

They have some creases and the leather is slightly thicker than they usually use at 2.4mm so can you please recommend the products I will need to bring these back to as new looking as possible?

That’s a great boot! Probably the definitive chromexel boot. Oil cream really works wonders on CXL.

@@porkorosso7885 If you speak with Horween directly, Renovateur is often recommended for Chromexcel, which is mink oil based, so it would work fine. If it's pure mink oil just make sure not to oversaturate it. The other recommendations, if you care, are Saphir Oiled Leather Cream (used in this video) and Venetian Shoe Cream

is there a difference between mirror shine and just putting a couple coats of Lincoln Neutral wax polish on a CXL boot? will the polish not stick?
or ar you saying that the polish in a mirror shine will slide off bc it has is multiple/many more coats?

Hi Preston. It's Mike from Ohio. I don't have any shoes in Chrome but my wife and I have Saddleback Leather bags in chrome. You're so right on how the leather is very different than veg tanned calfskin on my Allen Edmonds shoes. Have you ever tried "Chamberlains Leather Milk" cleaner/conditioner on Chrome leather? It works great on Chrome. I know you love leather as much as we do, pls check out Saddleback leather Co. and look at the bags. They're amazing. We have a variety of leather bags from them and each piece is phenomenal. My Doctor's overnight bag is my fav in my collection and I just conditioned it this past month with Chamberlains. I'd love to know your opinion/impressions of Saddleback leather if you can take a quick peak at it. Have a great evening. .,,. Mike
That older Seiko was made when they made a superior watch. In my opinion they are not made as well today.

Hi mr Soto , i have a pair of oiled leather shoes , brand Hugo Boss color honey tan , i just bought this shoes on ebay used but in a great condition , when i first get the shoes i noticed something different with the leather , the shoes had little black marks on the toe like scratch , i tried to cleaned with little water and saddle soap , but i made a big mistake doing that, now the shoes has like a shadow on the toe of the shoes and on the outside of the shoes looks like dirty but is not is like stain , i am really upset with myself and i do not know what to do !!!! i need help !! plz !!! thx a lot
I have a pair of Captains by Thursdays and they say not to use any polish or cream on them as they say it will change the color. I have the Whiskey color, one of the 2 or 3 colors that are called the Rugged and Resilient matte colors. Anyhow, I don't know what to use on them to get the scuffs and scratches out.

I have the same captain boots. I just got a pair of their matte black captains what do you recommend for their rough matte leather
If it's rough, follow suede steps. If it's just veg tanned, take care of them like normal boots.

Do you or anyone reading this know how to care for waxed calf leather? I presume that the wax coating sort of eliminates the conventional shoe care methods, but I don't know. An example is the Crockett & Jones Tetbury in black.

I live in Luxembourg and although I found a shop that sells Saphir, not all products are carried there, contrary to Langer & Messmer, which can be bought and delivered to where I live (Amazon).
