I remember telling my friends " just wait they will keep working on the game, I believe in them!! This game is going places! " Thanks for not letting me down hello games!
Hello Games may have started off as the most hated company around, but unlike certain AAA juggernauts, they owned up to their wrong doings, didn't give up, and have truly made No Man's Sky a modern work of art, as far as I'm concerned. This is how you make a come back. This is how you treat your customers. This is exactly what developers should be doing across the board. All praise to Hello Games.
Well, the reason they were able to own up for their mistakes is because they aren't a AAA juggernaut. They literally have like 15 people working there. They are a straight up indie studio.
I heard Sean Murray will sell food next. You pay full price and get little pieces of your meal and in a few years you will have a complete one. So cool.
Most games aren't a 100% shitshow at release. These people honestly had no real choice unless you want to be one of those companies with one of the worst games of all time and never get hired anywhere else.
Skine I wouldn’t say so. The very act of Sea of Thieves being multiplayer and the events encouraging that interaction lead to emergent gameplay that surpasses NMS's original meager offerings.
Most games companies would have given up, drawn a line under it and moved on but you didn’t. You stuck with it, worked your arses off, put your customers and fans first and made the game you dreamt of! Well done Hello Games xxx
Wild About Nature Like Randomkf2lover yup said they are not done and i can't wait to see what this game becomes in the foreseeable future seeing as it has so much potential.
I LOVE THESE GUYS, they didnt take the money and just disappear, they took the criticism as a way to improve, not as insults, and made the game how it should be
ShadowStorm criticism was literally useless in this case. Everything you see has already been in development before release. Everything was a matter of bugfixing and optimization, a lot for a small team that got money screwed by Sony right?
QueltosPlays No, Sony managed the promotion and press, in condition that the game would be released as a PS4 exclusive. The devs were low on funds, so they had to do something, which the only choice was to make a contract with Sony. Crowdfund is a bad idea if you have a triple A game, so they had to stick with Sony. BUT. The whole thing turned bad because they decided to create an AAA game while their studio was about 15 people. Criterion takes about a year and a half to make a game, but Criterion consists of thousands of programmers, so think about it. There was no way out. But yeah people are always gonna whine because they would never care enough to even LISTEN to the backstory before they "criticize". (just so you know, I have nothing against you or anything)
Yeah, I respect them for trying to redeem themselves and not abandon the game. If Xaviant team do something like this too they might not get as much hate as they are right now (kinda sad :D ).
I think everyone forgets Minecraft was a shadow of itself today at launch. They slowly added more and more. No Mans Sky could be huge if it continues that trend.
Think of all the companies that would drop development of a game with this much negativity. Now think of any that would keep pushing out updates. Hello Games are truly in a league of their own in that regard. Thank you all for continuing to create your dream game.
It's exceptional character for sure. I would have expected most of the dev team to have fallen into depression and quit long ago already, but they doubled down with their vision. Hope it pays off for them.
dude are you serious? all the negativity is completly justified.. sean murray is a scumbag.. he straight up lied about the game to con people into buying it..
Did he actually lie? Or was he just not able to deliver what he promised within the timeframe he had due to publisher deadlines? You have to admit, though, it's good to see them at least making steps to remedy it. They could have easily done what other publishers/developers do and either: A) Let the game rot in its launched form and move onto a new project. B) Finish the promised features and release them as paid DLC. The fact that they did neither when those are what many of us come to expect from publishers and developers speaks volumes.
You guys should look up capital ships warping in elite dangerous. That shit is crazy, the sound design in that game is amazing. Oh and this game is cool too.
While I know it's just a game: it always makes me cringe so bad.. the sound doesn't travel in the vacuum of space.. and even if it somehow did, it would take a few seconds to travel such distance as seen in the video.
There can't be redemption if there's no acknowledgement of wrongdoing. And thusfar, there hasn't been any such acknowledgement from Murray, or Hello Games.
You've done it. Sean, you've done it. HG, you've _actually_ done it. On behalf of the community and everything we've been through, thank you-this is absolutely beautiful.
takes a lot of balls to stick to a project so attacked like no man's sky was. kudos to Sean. he took all the abuse and threats and just kept on working.
Juan Quiceno Well, it didn't help that the No Man's Sky devs were outright lying in their interviews and marketing, and how they essentially tricked people into buying their glitchy, boring game. However, it is impressive they kept working on it. Looks much improved!
I don’t play no mans sky much simply because i haven’t had no time. I love each update that comes out. And i love watching each update be prepared. Is never forget the thrill of when the game dropped and it was downloading non my PS4. Man that was one of the best feeling. Thanks Hello games and thanks Sean for pushing thru. This is the NEXT big step and i can’t wait.
It was almost certainly the publisher’s fault. The publisher was probably money hungry so they pushed Hello Games to release before it was done. Almost all the features they talked about before launch have been added in updates since. They weren’t exactly lying as they probably weren’t planning on releasing until the game was closer to where it is now. Sony pushed their hand, and they supported due to it. It really is amazing they stuck around and continued working on it to make it the game they always intended it to be.
Underwater bases Gek player or comapnion Mini Freighter I think build portals anywhere Low low flyinhlg Ringed planets Build colonies Dogfights New sentinels Next is gona be the best update ever
celark and they added 3 other update before Next (one for base bulding, farming and freighter, one for véhicule, farming, more base building, new planet and moon type and one with....... story very instresting of 40h, new biome, new music, intesifing farming, portal, more building, a "multiplayer" but this is just orb, more ship, new biome and upgraded planet generation)
Finnegan Newcomb wasn’t hating that was actually a foreal smart touch lol I have already pre-ordered mine fully for Xbox One X just gotta pick it up July 24th! So excited!!
I have had the game since launch, but I have to say you are the person who kept me playing the game for these past months, I have to thank you for what we are finally getting, a Masterpiece.
Damn... this is just outright impressive. I completely expected them to drop the game and it'd go down in history as a meme. I'll be showing it around, this deserves attention. The good kind. As people people have said, I wouldn't be surprised if someone makes a documentary of how this game came back from being biggest joke in the industry. A real redemption story.
Still waiting on those damn giant Sandworms but aside from that I have to tip my hat to Sean and the rest of HG for working years post launch to make No Man's Sky the game many thought it would be back in 2016 and then some (Third Person Baby!)
we dont know what exactly all feature that are going to be in NEXT. however we do know that animals are being improved so there is still a chance to see such marvels. plus this is not the last update. its merely a NEXT step in the games development, so we may see in the future some crazy things.
sandworms will most likley never happen do to the fact that we have a terrain manipulator wich would mess too much with the pathfinding for such a creature
Retroman I really don’t see how it would mess with sand worms any more than it might mess with any other animal (In fact, it seems it would probably mess with sand worms less than other animals as they don’t really have to rely on the geometry of the planet since they can likely go underground)
Features: Third person Player models Build anywhere bases Underwater bases Better underwater gameplay in general Multiplayer Own-able? Freighter fleets Improved graphics Ring planets New freighter models Better sound quality Emotes? Co-op building Co-op atlas storyline And more
I believed in game since its release. No one else in game industry today can create procedural generated space-explore game and fix it for 2 years, while toxic arseholes talk shit everywhere about it. You made it, and you deserve all respect.
Arseholes weren't talking shit. People who'd bought the game were justifiably upset about a company lying to them to sell video games. Lying, cheating, manipulative dicks don't deserve respect. They deserve to have us ignore them so they can go do something else.
Stephen lying about certain features yes, definitely not unique in the gaming industry Bungie and Ubi can vouvh for that yet people play their games without much fuss. But no nothing else after is remotely true a scum bag wouldn't be finishing and adding on more to the product that was bought.
Multicrew, playable races, exosuit customization, vehicle customization, better planet generation, ringed planets, groups of sentinels walking on planets, underwater building, more building materials, complex colonies, emotes, more planet types, 3rd person, maybe more freighters can spawn in a fleet, better clouds, NEXT will be huuuuggge
They spent two years fixing this game for free. That is some dedication. They screwed up, but they had the balls to hunker down and say "Yes, we did wrong. Here's a fix, and here it is for free." Big props
where the free? they got so much money off it its an obligation. Now it might actually be 1.0 status and worth the base price of the game that it came out with.
lx122 This was basically a kikstarter. But honestly they could had ran with the money but they didn't. It shows that they truly want to make a great game. Too bad they where not honest from the start.
They certainly didn't have to, but their name would have been mud had they not done so. And to be fair they have made so much money from the game that their relatively small team can easily afford to.
No they didn't spend 2 years fixing it for free, they already made all the money from all the suckers that bought in to the lie. Not that I am knocking them for choosing not to abandon it like most developers seem to.
I heard Sean Murray will sell food next. You pay full price and get little pieces of your meal and in a few years you will have a complete one. So cool.
My very very big respect to the devs! After a unfortunately very failed start, they have actually managed to create an almost completely new game from NMS through much hard work and their love for this product. If you did not buy this game because of the bad feedback then you will make a big mistake if you do not TODAY. What an amazingly fantastic game.
Starter Pack a complete sound overhaul, shared bases, multiple bases, many more buildable parts for bases, bases where ever you wanna build‘em and not only at fixed locations and even more stuff. It‘s gonna be a good time for me and other nms fans
its probably gonna look like that in the ground since in the current atlas rises there are no textures like that that can be viewed from outer space, so they either changed the textures or now we can see the planet's surface from space, i'm betting on the second option...
This does look good but I'd control your expectations if I was you. Current planets look like they have realistic feature until you get close and I'm sure they'd have show a space to surface transition if they'd improved that particular bit.
When I bought No Man's Sky for the first time 2 years ago, I thought I was just buying a game. What I didn't know, however, was that I'd be buying an experience; A story of my insatiable hatred towards the developers for "stealing my money", but sticking around the community anyway and seeing the game slowly grow to it's potential through the determination of the developers, and watching the community transform from a popular hatred and sourness of HelloGames to a strong and well earned respect for them, as myself. I can say that my 60 dollars was definitely worth it.
If this is done right, this will be one of the biggest redemption stories ever. I don't think any developer have turned a game that was a train wreck on release around like this before.
Thank you Hello Games for investing so much work in the game. No man's Sky is the only game that far which I could play for days not getting tired of it. I really enjoy every second... Thanks for being there!
Hmm... we seem to remember things differently, Duke. I don't remember them "promising" all this. Do you live in alternate dimension or what? NEXT looks way better than what the original "gameplay" looked like. ua-cam.com/video/uHW1GlP4kBQ/v-deo.html
Actually there wasn't THAT much promised. Most of what the hatetrain retards are talking about were their own wishes for some sort of MMO which this game NEVER INTENDED TO BE.
docboy989 Hatetrain retards... so apparently overwhelming majority of people who played it and hated it for valid reasons are now hatetrain retards! God, you people have no standards...
*Update notes here, Some incredible stuff!:* Hello! On July 24th No Man’s Sky NEXT will launch as a free update for PlayStation, PC, as well as launching on Xbox for the first time. We are focused on development, but we know people are hungry for details. Nearly two years ago our small team of friends, with a shared love of sci-fi, opened up the universe of No Man’s Sky for the first time. It was an innovative, weird and at times lonely game. I loved that, it reminded me of the science fiction books I grew up with. It was broad in a way that almost no other game is, but with four updates it has become broader and so much deeper too. That will be even more true with the launch of NEXT, bringing a full Multiplayer experience. We can’t wait for you to play, but hopefully you can see from the trailer this is a very new experience. Here are a few things you might notice from the trailer… MULTIPLAYER Team up a small team of friends and explore the universe together, or be joined by random travelers. You can help friends to stay alive, or prey on others to survive. Tiny shelters or complex colonies that you build as a team are shared for all players. Fight as a pirate or a wingman in epic space battles with friends and enemies. Race exocraft across weird alien terrains, creating race tracks and trails to share online. Character customisation allows you to personalise your appearance. VISUAL OVERHAUL The game is fully playable in third or first person, both on-foot and in ship. Planetary rings and improved space visuals make space more beautiful than ever. Dramatically improved planetary terrain generation, ground textures, water and clouds bring the environment to life. Significantly more detail added to ships, NPCs and buildings. UNLIMITED BASE BUILDING Bases can now be built anywhere on any planet. Dramatically increased base building complexity and size limits. Hundreds of new base parts. Own multiple bases. COMMAND FREIGHTERS Assemble and upgrade a fleet of frigates and command them from the bridge of your freighter. Send your fleet out to into the universe, or deploy them to help you as you explore a specific system. Improved freighter base building allows a truly custom capital ship. Invite your friends aboard and take on challenging multiplayer missions from the Galactic Commision Station on your bridge. This is an incredibly important update for us, but it’s also just another step in a longer journey, and we’ll continue to support No Man’s Sky in this way for the foreseeable future. On behalf of myself, and the team at Hello Games I just want to say - Thank you. We are so excited to have made NEXT, and to continue to improve and develop No Man’s Sky, because of you, the community who play, explore and share this universe with us. It means so much to us. We hope you enjoy this and what follows - and we look forward to meeting you out there! Our journey continues. Sean
HelloGames I wish you the best, you deserve nothing but success with all the work you put in these years, I hope you get the praise you deserve. i havent played since the og version, i was originally disappointed but i knew 1 day it would be a completely different game so i waited patiently and didnt play any of the updates cause i knew the longer i wait the better it will be, now that day is almost here and im more excited than i was before launch.. thank you for sticking with it and giving me another chance of loving a game that at one point i thought would be the best game ever
Crowno not really about the multiplayer but ill take it, for me it will just add immersion and make the universe more real knowing that there are actual players i can run into.. i was gonna dive back in a while ago but i realized they’re working on something big and decided to wait it out and there were other great games to play like horizon zero dawn, ac origins, kingdom come deliverance
I already have this on PC, but will buy two copies on Xbox. Why? 1: to show my support to Sean Murray and the team who never gave up on this game, and 2: to play along with my kids. I simply cannot wait!
Just buy one copy, set the Xbox that you're not going to be signed in on, as your home Xbox. Log into the other Xbox as the account that bought the game, et voila! Both Xbox's can play the same game at the same time :)
I heard Sean Murray will sell food next. You pay full price and get little pieces of your meal and in a few years you will have a complete one. So cool.
Better animal AI, more diverse planets and animals, and dynamic environments such as trees that can get knocked down. You know, the things that were in the first trailer.
I want I want, maybe this is it, or did you not think of that. Also a trailer is almost never what the actual game is if you think that then you are truly dumb. Also more diverse planets have been in the game for a while, there is dynamic environments that was there since launch actually, and the AI isnt what it was in the trailer because it was a trailer.
I think you're mistaking my comment for complaining... and Sean himself has said that there's more to come in the future on their website. I have over 100 hours in the game, I actually enjoy it, and I'm happy with the amount of the work that they're putting into it, but it's still not quite up to the expectations I had before it's launch, just a few details left. The vast majority of the planets are very similar, save for a few, but even then, they aren't all that interesting to explore, at the moment you can land on a planet, get out of your ship, and 10 seconds later when all the animals have spawned around you, you've seen everything there is to see on that planet. There are no dynamic environments in the sense that trees can fall over due to force of an animal, ships, etc. Animals can have better AI and generation, they're just at a basic level right now. I don't get why you find the need to be so passive aggressive.
Devin Hansen m'en this is an indie studio with only 14 person not a bug studio si dont wait mannnnnnyyyyyyy thing. And not all new feature is in this trailer
Sean Murray, from the bottom of my mind - you made me happy, really. Once I was disappointed, but you didn't give up. And now you made me love this game again thank you very much! Love the clouds BTW
Let's just hope that they don't stop here. I hope that they continue to update and change and enhance the game for years to come! Thank you hello games so very much!
If this quote from Sean on their official blog post on NEXT is to be believed they will. "This is an incredibly important update for us, but it’s also just another step in a longer journey, and we’ll continue to support No Man’s Sky in this way for the foreseeable future"-Sean Murray.
This game will be played till eternity. Huge round of applause for the hello games team and their groundbreaking effort. Looking for more from you guys. All the best
I hope most of your R&D won't be trashed with this update! Waiting to see your masterpieces. And as I hoped - graphics did got a lot better (water, ground, sky, space fog and others) so we are finally happy now
This is really amazing. What you guys have done here is so rarely seen these days and it blows me away at how much love you've put into this game, when many others would have just left it after the backlash. You are amazing. Don't forget it.
I heard Sean Murray will sell food next. You pay full price and get little pieces of your meal and in a few years you will have a complete one. So cool.
What, I can't be upset on them when they forgot to tell me I have to wait 2 years to get what I paid for full price? should I build them a shrine for giving me what I paid for? i don't know if i have space for another shrine tho, I already build one for the pizza guy because he gave me a full pizza 2 seconds after i paid. The absolute madman.
A. Remis Obviously you CAN still be upset but do you really NEED to be. I get your argument but I have no interest in continuing this conversation. I bought it at launch as well, yet somehow I have magically decided to forgive them and see the great achievement they have accomplished. You can go mope with other people that are interested in moping.
A. Remis & Thanalicious I bought it at launch, even the collectors edition, and I loved it despite the bugs. I didn‘t give a damn about Multiplayer back than, but now that it is comming, I have some people I‘d like to play with, since time has come by and I got to know some awesome people in this community. At launch I already liked this game so much, that I even bought a PC Version, when those came out. My friends made fun of me because of that, but hell, I didn‘t care. The game was awesome back than, and it‘ll be even more awesome later this day and heck, even MORE awesome in a few years. I can‘t wait :p
A flop generally means either a commercial failure or a critical failure: It's sold millions of copies to date, and it's sitting at a 71 on both Metacritic and Gamerankings (which isn't "amazing" but still very good considering how some people would have you believe it's the worst game of all time).
Booting the game up at launch was one of the most disappointing things I have ever done. It was a technical and conceptual mess. Even if it sold well, in the hearts and minds of those who played it, it Flopped harder than Neymar.
WE RISE AGAIN😈😈😈 Also you made me damn near cry for the first time since my grandmother passed away 7 years ago. Thank you Hello Games. Not just Sean Murray but the TEAM OF HELLO GAMES.
I was kind of hoping for a trailer like the previous update trailers. Where the female voice comes on and describes and informs on what exactly will be added in that update, w/clips of what she is talking about. Maybe that is coming on the day of launch?
Well I liked those trailers for those updates, because they felt more informative and they where exactly what NMS needed. They told you EXACTLY what would be in the game with clips of it aswell as opposed to all the pre-release trailers that got are hopes up, but those update videos seemed like an attempt by HG to try and be as forthcoming as possible w/ people
Zach Pretty sure this dropped because people voted for "video" on the ARG which has been running. There was a countdown etc. Anyway, the normal informative trailer should be there as normal just before launch.
I never played the game yet, especially after its release backlash. Of course I was on the hype train prior to release and it's good to see Hello Games have stuck with the game. I will now purchase the game, looks like they're looking to do more than they promised before release. This is redemption.
I would like to be able to hit the ground with my ship though. If they do all this and make flying truly feel under your control I'll say they redeemed themselves
Yep + landing more challenging than hitting one button... Playing ED so flying a ship in NMS is kinda boring... But except of that NEXT looks really promising.
I feel ya. I've played alot of ED, and it was good, just a tad confusing. But this is way to easy and feels like you're ALWAYS on auto pilot. I want the simple controls, but with menuevering that feels like its actually yours, and that you're the one flying.
Koen-kun No, the ground automatically pushes you back upwards if you start flying too low. You can hit the ground if you go straight down, but only for a second before it rubberbands you back up into the sky. But either way the controls just don't quite feel right, I can't tell you what exactly is off because its difficult to describe, all I can say is it feels like you're flying on autopilot at all times, autopilot that only gives you a little bit of room for menuevering or changing course... Y'know what I mean?
I really advise y'all to go on there website for more info. So I'll leave a little info here. Multiplayer Team up a small team of friends and explore the universe together, or be joined by random travelers. You can help friends to stay alive, or prey on others to survive.Tiny shelters or complex colonies that you build as a team are shared for all players.Fight as a pirate or a wingman in epic space battles with friends and enemies.Race exocraft across weird alien terrains, creating race tracks and trails to share online.Character customisation allows you to personalise your appearance. And now, just in a couple of weeks we will get the next big update so far! NMS Beyond! Can't wait to see whats inside of it

FSTD3AD I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not.

it's so rare to see games do a complete 180 nowadays with most companies not giving a shit after release. i'm happy for them.
Sea of Thieves is doing the correct version of what these dudes did. They told us up front that the game’s gonna be empty. These devs just lied.
Even no mans sky had more on release then sea of thieves did
Most games aren't a 100% shitshow at release. These people honestly had no real choice unless you want to be one of those companies with one of the worst games of all time and never get hired anywhere else.

Hell, it now looks better than the initial trailer that set everyone's expectations so high.
I mean... why not just make a game good to begin with?
I LOVE THESE GUYS, they didnt take the money and just disappear, they took the criticism as a way to improve, not as insults, and made the game how it should be

@Units Received Also, they're an indie studio with less than 10 people back then. So creating a game this large is almost insane.
Thank you for not giving up on this game

Yeah, I respect them for trying to redeem themselves and not abandon the game. If Xaviant team do something like this too they might not get as much hate as they are right now (kinda sad :D ).

I like hyperspeed more
You guys should look up capital ships warping in elite dangerous.
Yeah, I'm a big fan of this type of effect, as seen here - ua-cam.com/video/sCVWm20fU0A/v-deo.html
The Division and No Man’s Sky have made the biggest comebacks in the history of modern gaming.
So true, and they are both my favorite games to date. Go hello games!
They got nothing on FFXIV
they also made the biggest deceptions

There can't be redemption if there's no acknowledgement of wrongdoing.
And thusfar, there hasn't been any such acknowledgement from Murray, or Hello Games.
Do you guys know the song's name?
This looks a whole lot better than it did on release
m00sician yeah took them 3 years to add what supposed to be added since launching day as per to shaun Murray, waiting this game to be on xbox
m00sician Hiii was geehhtt
Mmm, that's a stretch sir.

Juan Quiceno He's an indie dev. He has nothing else to work on and nobody wants to recruit him
technically the devs didnt lie becuase they never stated directly in the interviews that all the features would be in the base game at launch
I'm so proud of HG for sticking with this game when they had the opportunity to run from it.
Wow i just watched your hk boss tip video
ITS SO WEIRD SEEING A GEK WALK AND MOVE
They are actually not paralyzed any more
looks like a player model, which is hype
+Unicornic Its so weird to see anything walk or move in the game.
That player
Unicornic Ether its a Player or a Advanced AI
This developer deserve all my respect. On of the most committed and dedicated we have in the industry.

CHESSY GAMER @0:49 bottom left. Or what else could that be :)
OMG that’s true
I stopped playing the original game a week after release .....I will now need to go back to it.
celark and they added 3 other update before Next (one for base bulding, farming and freighter, one for véhicule, farming, more base building, new planet and moon type and one with....... story very instresting of 40h, new biome, new music, intesifing farming, portal, more building, a "multiplayer" but this is just orb, more ship, new biome and upgraded planet generation)
I appreciate the in game footage, because they totally hit that tree
Glad they added that smart touch lol that tree didn’t stand a chance against the truth!
DeathClaw13 you can hate all you guys want. Me personally I’ll be playing this on day one
No Mans Sky Is already more than what they showed at E3... even if they don't hit it in this update it's still better than what it was promised.
Finnegan Newcomb wasn’t hating that was actually a foreal smart touch lol I have already pre-ordered mine fully for Xbox One X just gotta pick it up July 24th! So excited!!

Hello Games, goodbye life!
Stefano Orlando but *Life is Good*
Stefano Orlando Oh my god nice pun
Niceee
Let’s be honest fellas, we love ❤️
and hate video games to death. Am I right or wrong about that?
Stefano Orlando lmao right? just got back into the game yesterday
This is an example of life, always work hard and never give up.
My life is complete. I never once doubted. They’ve done it... 🚀
They did it from the beginning it just keeps getting better
I have had the game since launch, but I have to say you are the person who kept me playing the game for these past months, I have to thank you for what we are finally getting, a Masterpiece.
We made it mate, what a joyful time!!!!!
L Plays Gaming AAÀAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!
They did! Shieeeeeeeeeet
Thank you for not giving up on us....We didn’t give up on you.
Alfred F. Jones Well some did but the dedicated fanbase kept faith. Such as ypu and me and we are being reward for our effort.
I literally can't wait
NEXT looks gorgeous.
Eric Nick Not really since the dudes that gave up can just jump back in. You put up with garbage just cuz you liked it
There’s only 800 people playing this on steam now, most of the community has given up and is gone. Too little too late.
Damn... this is just outright impressive. I completely expected them to drop the game and it'd go down in history as a meme. I'll be showing it around, this deserves attention. The good kind. As people people have said, I wouldn't be surprised if someone makes a documentary of how this game came back from being biggest joke in the industry. A real redemption story.
Late reply but you really got your wish there (Internet Historian)
I been playing since release day it’s fun to look back and see how the game has grown!
I get the feeling that Sony pushed for this game to come out far too early.
klutz395 Hello Games also had a flood
Luka they had a flood?
Yeah, their offices flooded early on in the development of NMS and they lost a lot of equipment.
www.hellogames.org/2014/01/the-flood/
that's a shame, they could've had loads of progress in that equipment
They ran out of money. It's that simple.
Still waiting on those damn giant Sandworms but aside from that I have to tip my hat to Sean and the rest of HG for working years post launch to make No Man's Sky the game many thought it would be back in 2016 and then some (Third Person Baby!)
Ahahahah yeah I wanted the giant snake from the beginning too
we dont know what exactly all feature that are going to be in NEXT. however we do know that animals are being improved so there is still a chance to see such marvels. plus this is not the last update. its merely a NEXT step in the games development, so we may see in the future some crazy things.
yep sandworms hook me in
sandworms will most likley never happen do to the fact that we have a terrain manipulator wich would mess too much with the pathfinding for such a creature
Retroman I really don’t see how it would mess with sand worms any more than it might mess with any other animal (In fact, it seems it would probably mess with sand worms less than other animals as they don’t really have to rely on the geometry of the planet since they can likely go underground)
I still remember when this was the most hype update. Now Origins comes in and blows all of this out of the park. Thank you, Hello Games
That first seconds of the trailer was mindblowing, like 3rd person?! another people?! What's going on, yooo that was so hyped
HOLY SHIT!
No, holy shieeeeeeeeeet
The first thing I said lmao
Bin schon auf deine Analyse gespannt! :)
my reaction exactly. now i'm excited to reinstall. they deserved a revisit

No Man's Sky is finally making a comeback... Simply breathtaking!!!!
UX Live space engineers ?
Erm, Elite Dangerous.
You haven't looked very hard for other such games, have you?
Multicrew, playable races, exosuit customization, vehicle customization, better planet generation, ringed planets, groups of sentinels walking on planets, underwater building, more building materials, complex colonies, emotes, more planet types, 3rd person, maybe more freighters can spawn in a fleet, better clouds, NEXT will be huuuuggge
Cameras and camcorders Frank YEAH MENNNNNN
Wheres my Sandworm....
Still need better optimization so it doesn't lag on ps4.
ps4 just sucks
you said it buddy. join the master race already people
They spent two years fixing this game for free.
So cool.
Definitely trying this game again
We'll be happy to have you back traveler!
André Santos There was actually no mistake :)
Welcome back!
So
Full multiplayer, Third person mode, underwater exploration, and ringed planets
Sounds good to me
and more that they have not showed yet!
and controlling literally your own fleet. confirmed by good ol Sean Murray
Starter Pack a complete sound overhaul, shared bases, multiple bases, many more buildable parts for bases, bases where ever you wanna build‘em and not only at fixed locations and even more stuff. It‘s gonna be a good time for me and other nms fans
OMG RINGED PLANETS TAKE MY MONEY. Idiot.
Grimsikk you're really going to just believe that without seeing gameplay first?
Rivers, and lakes, not just oceans. And you can see them from space!! (around 1:19)
OH MY GOD YOURE RIGHT... IM GONNA CRY
Damn good eye!
there is no way to know if it will look like that on the ground or its just the same planetary textures we have right now.
its probably gonna look like that in the ground since in the current atlas rises there are no textures like that that can be viewed from outer space, so they either changed the textures or now we can see the planet's surface from space, i'm betting on the second option...
This does look good but I'd control your expectations if I was you. Current planets look like they have realistic feature until you get close and I'm sure they'd have show a space to surface transition if they'd improved that particular bit.
Started from the bottom now we're here

When I bought No Man's Sky for the first time 2 years ago, I thought I was just buying a game. What I didn't know, however, was that I'd be buying an experience; A story of my insatiable hatred towards the developers for "stealing my money", but sticking around the community anyway and seeing the game slowly grow to it's potential through the determination of the developers, and watching the community transform from a popular hatred and sourness of HelloGames to a strong and well earned respect for them, as myself. I can say that my 60 dollars was definitely worth it.
0:27 Gek walking
0:39 complex bases
1:05 ringed planets
I have one thing to say:
It's time to start a new begining
you dont want that... money and gearing is so much more tedious now >_< i regret losing my save.
Now I can buy my copy back that I dumped five months after launch.
can get it on ps4 for $20 and under now
You will regret it
Unless you keep ur old save
Holy crap, they actually did it.
If this is done right, this will be one of the biggest redemption stories ever. I don't think any developer have turned a game that was a train wreck on release around like this before.
Ok, I'm ready to forgive you.
Thank you Hello Games for investing so much work in the game. No man's Sky is the only game that far which I could play for days not getting tired of it. I really enjoy every second...
Thanks for being there!
you are pretty fucked up then arent ya
KoustavSpecials yeah, maybe
The real No Man's Sky that we were promised is finally here.
Duke no this is no man’s sky NEXT or “new”. This is the future not the past XD
You're missing my point. This has a lot of what was promised before release.
Hmm... we seem to remember things differently, Duke. I don't remember them "promising" all this. Do you live in alternate dimension or what? NEXT looks way better than what the original "gameplay" looked like.
ua-cam.com/video/uHW1GlP4kBQ/v-deo.html
Actually there wasn't THAT much promised. Most of what the hatetrain retards are talking about were their own wishes for some sort of MMO which this game NEVER INTENDED TO BE.
docboy989
Hatetrain retards... so apparently overwhelming majority of people who played it and hated it for valid reasons are now hatetrain retards! God, you people have no standards...
This is incredible. I'm so happy HelloGames never gave up on this game!
Most happy 1:50 minutes ever! Amazing! I love it, I want to cry!
Damn this game might actually be worth buying now
It is
it is brother
its a free update if you already have the game
It has been for a long time already
It's a miracle what 2 more years of development time could've given you.
Yo I’ve watched this around 70 times.
Please send help, I think I’m dying...
of hype.
when you take home your cash from your paper route, you can stop dying, and start buying.
kindof like the hype of the last game...
Respect for not giving up.

PSGamer i dont want pvp
Wait, this is an update? This looks like an entirely new game, what the fuck?
Smash Nippy good things come to those who wait my friend.
4th free update actually
*Update notes here, Some incredible stuff!:*
Hello!
Here are a few things you might notice from the trailer…
MULTIPLAYER
Team up a small team of friends and explore the universe together, or be joined by random travelers.
VISUAL OVERHAUL
The game is fully playable in third or first person, both on-foot and in ship.
Planetary rings and improved space visuals make space more beautiful than ever.
Dramatically improved planetary terrain generation, ground textures, water and clouds bring the environment to life.
Significantly more detail added to ships, NPCs and buildings.
UNLIMITED BASE BUILDING
Bases can now be built anywhere on any planet.
Dramatically increased base building complexity and size limits.
Hundreds of new base parts.
Own multiple bases.
COMMAND FREIGHTERS
Assemble and upgrade a fleet of frigates and command them from the bridge of your freighter.
Sean
Thanks for showing it here. This is just a sample of the patchnotes.
DRIVECLUB-is-timeless this note as not every new feature there still more but we only new that when the update drop
And more, Game Crashes, Save Loses , connection not working to the servers, players falling off the world ... Working hard for what?? A Bugged Update
What do you expect? Bugs always happen with any game when its first updated.
Alex Rider Games and nos everybody have notre l'ost they saved have no not woorkong conection and the multiplayer is great
HelloGames I wish you the best, you deserve nothing but success with all the work you put in these years, I hope you get the praise you deserve. i havent played since the og version, i was originally disappointed but i knew 1 day it would be a completely different game so i waited patiently and didnt play any of the updates cause i knew the longer i wait the better it will be, now that day is almost here and im more excited than i was before launch.. thank you for sticking with it and giving me another chance of loving a game that at one point i thought would be the best game ever
Space Buddha wow! You haven't played due to wanting a better experience when multiplayer comes around? You, my friend, have willpower.
I've been playing from day one and loved every minute. This is one hell of an update..
Congrats HG, you built a space game masterpiece.
I'm lost for words
MZK Hey, when’s the video about this up?
Doing it as we speak
Gonna be the longest todaaaaaaaaay
Hi dad
Same
I already have this on PC, but will buy two copies on Xbox. Why? 1: to show my support to Sean Murray and the team who never gave up on this game, and 2: to play along with my kids. I simply cannot wait!
Frank Bishop does it run on a quite low end pc? Geforce 710 GT, intel core i3 .
Just buy one copy, set the Xbox that you're not going to be signed in on, as your home Xbox. Log into the other Xbox as the account that bought the game, et voila! Both Xbox's can play the same game at the same time :)
Buy ten copies since you love so much liars delivering promised features two years after launch.
I heard Sean Murray will sell food next. You pay full price and get little pieces of your meal and in a few years you will have a complete one. So cool.
Dont even try. Sorry. Buddy of mine has a gtx 940mx in his laptop and it barely pumps out 20fps @Capricola86
I feel like it's just one more big update away from being everything that I wanted it to be!
Devin Hansen and what the fuck MORE do you want?
I underestimated this developer. I see the promises are strong with this one. Forgive I must.
Sean Murray, from the bottom of my mind - you made me happy, really. Once I was disappointed, but you didn't give up. And now you made me love this game again thank you very much! Love the clouds BTW
Made me cry. Thank you for sticking with it!
It's incredible to see how NMS is going to be the true Star Citizen
*put my hand in my pants*
Well, here we go again!
+++++++++
Let's just hope that they don't stop here. I hope that they continue to update and change and enhance the game for years to come! Thank you hello games so very much!
they will, see Sean Murray twitter
they still have resource and creative fuel to continue working on it
If this quote from Sean on their official blog post on NEXT is to be believed they will.
"This is an incredibly important update for us, but it’s also just another step in a longer journey, and we’ll continue to support No Man’s Sky in this way for the foreseeable future"-Sean Murray.
twitter.com/NoMansSky/status/1019232906433171456
This game will be played till eternity. Huge round of applause for the hello games team and their groundbreaking effort. Looking for more from you guys. All the best
Next Looks GLORIOUS
RaYRoD TV can't wait to see what beautiful mods you gonna do on this one. By the way, do you think Xbox will support mods.
:D this is going to be great RayRod
I hope most of your R&D won't be trashed with this update! Waiting to see your masterpieces. And as I hoped - graphics did got a lot better (water, ground, sky, space fog and others) so we are finally happy now
I'm glad they managed to redeem themselves and continue working on the game. Good job.
Hello there
Jongo Phett GENERAL KENOBI
_Duds I don't like sand
What happened to Bongo Phett?
KONOBI! *cough cough*
Jongo Phett GENERAL KENOBI
This is really amazing. What you guys have done here is so rarely seen these days and it blows me away at how much love you've put into this game, when many others would have just left it after the backlash. You are amazing. Don't forget it.
I heard Sean Murray will sell food next. You pay full price and get little pieces of your meal and in a few years you will have a complete one. So cool.
A. Remis But food is completely different to a game. The fact that they didn't just run away is worth respect. You don't need to hate on them man.
No Mans Sky redemption arc.
They've made the terrain generation so much better OMG!!!! I can't believe my eyes...
*EVERYTHING* is better
No Mans Sky might just turn from a big flop into one of the best games ever made!
It was never really a flop.
yea it kinda was
A flop generally means either a commercial failure or a critical failure: It's sold millions of copies to date, and it's sitting at a 71 on both Metacritic and Gamerankings (which isn't "amazing" but still very good considering how some people would have you believe it's the worst game of all time).
yea they sold millions because they hyped it up so much - the numbers of entites sold dont go down after players quit the game -
Booting the game up at launch was one of the most disappointing things I have ever done. It was a technical and conceptual mess. Even if it sold well, in the hearts and minds of those who played it, it Flopped harder than Neymar.
It seems like No Man's Sky is going to be better and have more content than Star Citizen.
THEY DID IT
THE ABSOLUTE MADMEN
ALL ABOARD THE HYPE ~~TRAIN~~ FREIGHTER
You mean portal
WE RISE AGAIN😈😈😈
Also you made me damn near cry for the first time since my grandmother passed away 7 years ago. Thank you Hello Games. Not just Sean Murray but the TEAM OF HELLO GAMES.
I've lost the count on how many times i've watched this trailer in less than one hour...OMG this looks gorgeous
I was kind of hoping for a trailer like the previous update trailers. Where the female voice comes on and describes and informs on what exactly will be added in that update, w/clips of what she is talking about. Maybe that is coming on the day of launch?
Yeah usually a few hours before the update, this is pretty much a teaser
We will get it. This time HG releases game on new platform. Meaning fresh start. So it is natural that it deserves full teasee
maybe we will get this kind of Trailer on Friday. Cuz i think this was just for the Waking Titan ARG and it feels more like an teaser
Like a phoenix, rising from its ash... They did it... they finally did it!
Alright hello games, you've captured my attention again, don't screw this up
I would like to be able to hit the ground with my ship though.
Onyxtinct You can lol, since when have you stopped following their developement?
Koen-kun No, the ground automatically pushes you back upwards if you start flying too low. You can hit the ground if you go straight down, but only for a second before it rubberbands you back up into the sky. But either way the controls just don't quite feel right, I can't tell you what exactly is off because its difficult to describe, all I can say is it feels like you're flying on autopilot at all times, autopilot that only gives you a little bit of room for menuevering or changing course... Y'know what I mean?
Well this looks promising! I'll be jumping on this again.
