More Chuck Nice 👍 More Emily Rice , More Neil Degrasse Tyson & More David Keppinge
Eric Sanchez I’m gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you know someone who’s last name is pronounced like David’s so you you assumed you knew how to spell his last name, but if you look really fucking carefully, his name is in the video description. It’s spelled kipping, and you didn’t need to put some pompous, over pronounced spelling on it...

I've never seen someone so outraged at an E before.
It's officially Chuck's channel now
Chuck is the first and only comedy co-host who not only keeps up with each guest at the science level, but slides his humor seamlessly into the conversation at the perfect time and just the right amount. I cringe with most guest comedy co-hosts who are not funny, interrupt at the wrong time and know nothing about the topics. Chuck's off the cuff humor seems like he's the voice of the viewer who isn't an expert, but that man is so knowledgeable. Hands down the best part of this show. Neil and Chuck are magic together. Add Janna Levin and you've got perfection.
Chuck's comment about NASAs funding was great, I ate
that up as my jaw dropped!
That is an awesome shirt Emily!
I was ogling the Webb mirror necklace!
It's very rock. :P
Literally the first thing I said, God damn that shirt is sick.
C'mon, let's be respectful adults. I was just saying that is a cool shirt, you don't need to take it there.
David good to see you here ....love your channel ... upload some more videos.... waiting...
Yes, please have Emily Rice as host when NDT is absent, she is wonderful and perky.
Chuck is awesome as always!!!
I love when Dr Tyson isn’t on the show, Chuck’s voice gets deeper!! Hehe
Loved this!
Thankyou star talk
Love the enthusiasm :)
Great and interesting episode, Exoplanets are my obsession x-x
I love Emily's T-shirt!
Thank you.
Love the moon shirt.
love the show just wish Chuck would get through more questions for the guests. Thanks for the a great show
I just want to say... I love her shirt. That is a awesome shirt.
Emily is a great host, use her again when Neil needs a sub!
thanks
one day Chuck's kid in going to grow up and watch his dad bitch about him in almost every episode xD
The exoplanets with the coolest names are "Draugr", "Poltergeist" and ""Phobetor", which orbit "Lich". Lich is not an active star, but the remainder of a burned out giant star, a pulsar.
Now I feel the need to go back to playing skyrim. Thanks
her pendant on her necklace though...too cool
if you know what it is!!
What mic do they use?
What, our teacher told us the "greeness" of the plant is dependent on the amount of chlorophyll in the plant. We even tested how much chlorophyll there was in the plant depending on how much green light they reflected. (We squished the plants and used centrifuges to "purify" the plant liquid)
And we got a pretty exact measurement of chlorophyll
So was our teacher wrong?
Alien civilizations already picked our historical documents. Never give up, never surrender.
I believed Chuck when he said nasa owed money 😲🙃🙃😜
We observe everything from Earth which to me is headache inducing. Lots lots lots of misconceptions can be made.
Me: Where can I get that T-shirt?
Emily: I got it during the sale in the Moon's Uniqlo. This one is located in the southern Vallis Bohr.
great show as always! Chuck is the best co-host of Star Talk!
Could the M type stars, once have been like our own, but with earth-like planets that have Type II civilizations that have harvested the energy from their parent star, ultimately shrinking it and thus re-classing it as M??
Why wouldn't the rotation periods of the TRAPPIST-1 planets become resonant as they head toward tidal locking the way that Mercury did rather than full-on tidal locking?

Anyone else thinks this David guy looks like Leonard of Big Bang theory ?
blohot You mean Johnny Galecki.
If I can amend the maxim : We shouldn't "assume" we are special
im a parent and i can say ive never watched jeopardy lol
i have a single question for you?
what made us unlike any animal ever found on earth ?
i have an answer that i never heard anyone talk about
and my answer is when we learned to kill from a distance am i correct ?
I live in Cartersville, Georgia, and I was wondering if anyone out there knows of a good college for physics that's near me. Problem is, I'm on a bicycle, but I would like to go to school to become a theoretical physicist.
If you want to stay in nowheresville probably not. Is there even a college or such there? Unless Ga Tech has a campus there.
Haha what a dick lol
Great episode! I just wish they spent more time answering questions then rambling on about moons we know nothing about
We use like different light to see out of which materials a planet is right?
Is it possible that some aliens fake it so that we think there is mitging?
*nothing
We use the light spectrum to determine what the atmosphere of a planet is made of. That is one way we are searching for life, by searching for organic molecules in a planet's atmosphere.
DonkeyJoe but my question was if you could fake it.
Maybe they want us to think „ you cant life here its to hot or its all molten helium „
WHOOP WHOOP 👽
After the intro, the video starts at 5:00
P. Patrick Tukkers thanks :)
I didnt know Chris Hardwick had a sister.....
Blake.is she does look alot like him
I'm a little troubled that Emily went straight to the porn star/pony thing; 4chan says she doesn't exist.
Im pretty sure I'm an idiot but im not belieeving this no dark side of the moon teary.
From earth, we always see the same side of the moon. The other side that we cannot see from earth was called the dark side. But the fact that we cannot see it from earth, doesn't mean it's dark. It just can't be seen from here.
Emily is awesome. Chuck is the best. White dude is super hot.
Think of how many planets could have advanced enough telescopes to discover our planet
Alien: “we will wait until those aliens destroy themselves before we harvest their resources. Should be soon”
that's good thanks DJ Khalid
30 out of 45 correct for pony or porn name. about 3 minutes
Where does Trappit (the name) come from?
Belgians discovered these planets, they named them after Trappist beer.
Trappist beer is is brewed by monks of the Cistercienser order. It's brewed within the walls of the monastry ( else the beer cannot be called Trappist).
It used to ba a Belgian thing, but today there are foreign (non Belgian) Trappists. The Belgians are still the best. The Dutch are good too. The rest ... there is some work to do; keep trying
It is named after the telescope used to find it: Transiting Planets and Planetesimals Small Telescope (TRAPPIST)
Anonymous Freak obviously the beer was first and the acronym was chosen to make that name...
Emmanuel Delay Go home. You are drunk.
Emmanuel Delay Where did you get this information?
I don't remember, it was big news in Belgium, all over our newspapers.
It has a Wikipedia page, saying "... in the May 2016 issue of the journal Nature.[15][7] The backronym TRAPPIST reflects the telescope's nationality by alluding to Belgium's famous Trappist beer, named after the Roman Catholic religious order, which the astronomers used to toast their discovery ...".
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TRAPPIST-1
It's called a backronym (Almost all acronyms are backronyms). Meaning: first you pick the acronym, then you find words to fit the acronym
(note: CIA is not an acronym, NASA is. Acronym specifically means that the abbreviation is pronounced as a word, you don't say the letters...)
The editing job on this video was headache inducing. Lol.
Who else are here because of *Life Noggin*
'plink foid' XD
The leaves on a Habitable planet around TRAPPIST-1 would be black.
are TRAPPIST-1 gay?
Who are you calling little?

Waitthat'snotwhatIohmylord. :$
waffielz yolo I don’t think so
homosapien
the joke is homosapien
the host is too noisy and interrupting each time.
Stay on topic, to much conversation about non science. Felt like many topics were not fully answered and jumping around
Really fucken hard to listen to a video when every second word is “like” used out of context.
I bet the music on TRAPPIST IS really bland
Does this woman ever allow other people speak? Just fire Chuck and the the guy professor bc apparently she can do it all!
Omg she's so boring they had to cut her, lol. Lady thinks "host" means "talk about herself."
No NDT = Downvote
MORE science and less crap attempts at humour in these please. And chuck let the scientists talk stop interrupting when un-necessary.
that's good thanks DJ Khalid
