I installed some Amazon Led driving/fog lights on my Subaru 2016 Outback. I show how I ran my wires with an aftermarket light wire harness. Putting the switch past the firewall was the hardest part but not impossible if careful.

HecksVision definitely, just updated my fogs and low beams. Should’ve done it sooner

Thanks for sharing your install. Did you consider placing the switch in one of those blank switch plates to the left of the steering wheel? If so, why didn’t you go that way? Would have been cleaner I thought but probably harder I guess.

Yep. I assumed it would be harder and the kit came with the button so I just went that way. Maybe I'll change it because I have hit the button with my knee and left the lights on and had to jump start it. I carry one of those jumper packs that saved my ass.

Was it difficult to run the wires through the firewall?

I just checked out all your vids. Great Job!!! I have one question. If i went about the same route as you what size light bar would fit? Was thinking about getting a lightbar and relocating the license plate with the tow hook holder. What do you think? Thanks

Thanks. Are you talking about the LP bars? On there website they show what bars fit. My front plate may cause a issue with my driving lights on each side so close in the city but until I get a ticket I have not looked into plate location. I was going to get a tow hook but when I park in the Bronx I fear it being stolen. That hook cost more than my lights lol.

HecksVision yea..... im from brooklyn ny. The bronx is a shit show. I wanna get the same guard and plate but instead of getting the light setup you have, i was planning on getting a light bar and relocating my front license plate by getting a tow hook license plate holder. Instead of a tow hook being a tow hook, its just there to hold up your license plate.

Looking at the small bar from LP a plate holder looks like it will fit fine. I may get one myself as I seen one on Amazon for 11 bucks.

Cihan Ugur I just got a 22” light Bar and it fits in the lower grill perfectly. It’s around 24” total mounted. You might be able to fit an even longer one

Hey I know you did this for years ago but wonder if you had battery problem with that red light always on? I just installed lights on my outback and have the same issue. The lights came with wiring harness and can only hook them up one way and followed directions to the T.

Would this be the same install instructions for a forester in the same gen, I have a 13. I’m having a hard time seeing where the wires from engine bay would enter the cabin, thanks!

I poked a hole in the rubber boot if I recall running the wires. Did not use existing wires to run into car.

Did it end up killing your battery like you thought

No issues with the battery. I did upgrade to a more powerful interstate and a larger size like a year later. The stock battery is useless.
The only issue I had was with the switch placement. I would hit it with my knee sometimes leaving the lights on when I got out. I got caught
a few times going back to the car a few hours later only to see the lights on. Lucky LED draws low volts and 90% of the time the car still started.
A few times I had to use my jump pack. Now I changed the location of the switch and all is well. A few LED lights in the lamps did stop working.
But I paid a low price.

Nice....but I do not understand why you have your entire vehicle outfitted for off road, yet run stock tires and wheels. All seasons don't cut it off road. Why no AT tires ??

    • @ProjectsandReviewsZone
      @ProjectsandReviewsZone  3 роки тому

No plans to go off road. I just love the look but like the smooth drive of highway tires. Guess I am a parking lot queen lol.

@@ProjectsandReviewsZone Ohhh.....That makes sense. If you ever decide to do AT's....I just put them on my 2019 Outback. They are great (but I also live in snow country). I chose the Falken Wildpeaks and I have to tell you, I am considering never going back to my all seasons ! These things are great. The plan was to use the AT's from October thru March and then switch back. But I love these things....so may end up selling my wheels and all-seasons.
